There is a mod for Trailmakers called the ComplexityMod which allows you to set a new complexiblility limit. The game can get really unstable if you go too far though
I find 2000 is about where it dies. Others only get 1400 but I've seen builds as huge as 4000. I think a lot depends on your CPU power for the game to calculate on.
@@DigitalJedi It will also vary greatly depending on what pieces you're using, they came up with their own "complexity" metrics that probably aren't 100% accurate to how much CPU/RAM it will use, just like every other game
@@dshcfh Oh absolutely. Servos get glitchy real fast, even within the current vanilla limits. Suspension however can stack to the moon and be mostly fine. I've just noticed that having more compute power can brute-force higher complexity to an extent.
Tank steering is just one of those things that just doesn't work in trailmakers and it's really hard to make it work properly. Edit: even cheating with wheels doesn't work, the tank just bounces.
5:04 RC don't use an angle meter, use a compass!!! Here's why: the ball in the angle sensor will always try to go up, so if you are going over the peak of a hill, it will change the position of itself and mess up your timing! The compass will always point North, and as you are on largley flat terrain (i.e. not 90 degrees upward) it will keep on pointing North and not mess up your timing!
If I turn the entire machine though it will mess up the timings. I've had this issue with my sub as well, and just using distance sensors is way easier
@@ReidCaptain ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh yea... I forgot about that xD Also - just an idea - try to make a boat that launches torpedoes out of a turret, I have tried it, and just about made it work because of jank physics...
@@ReidCaptain you can build a simple timing loop just with logic. switch on extended mode give a logic block delay and pause and a toggle then it should send out periodically a signal.
don't know why, but it just feels better when you make something that wasn't designed with the game than something that was, like making a tank in a car game
This reminds my of that 8-leged tank thing from Star Wars. Edit: its called an "at te walker" apparently. Also, that first design with the pistons reminds me of the way centipedes and millipedes move, you should make something like that! Maybe not in trailmakers because of the complexity issue but it could be fun to try non the less.
Have you tried out Space Engineers? It's got all sorts of gizmos and gadgets to mess around with, like most things a a **liiitle** bit of jank but i recommend it none the less!
I think adding a mod to increase/remove the complexity cap would be fair game Other games don't try to keep you from crashing your own computer, why should this one?
you really should get a hand of some mods there are some taht will just increase your complexity limit the games engine will just die at about 2-3k from waht i heard of course only if its used to the max xd sadly i have 0 idea where to get theese mods i just see them in some trailmakers videos
What else do you want to see me make in Trailmakers?
You could make a quadcopter
Ac-130
A vehicle with automatic collision avoidance
make a rs-28 sarmat superheavy intercontinental ballistic missile thermonuclear bomb
i think a motorcycle would be pretty cool

It’s nice how this guy does more then I’ll ever be able to do in life while playing video games just for fun
What do U mean?
I actually don't understand why he doesn't help out Elon Musk at SpaceX sometimes
Hon hon hon
@@אילוןאור-ע8מ only in video game form tho
@@אילוןאור-ע8מ I’m glad he doesn’t, Elon musk is a absolute donkey
When I saw your design with pistons extending and retracting, I thought about something like a Viking Boat

Are you really sure you are correct.
I do this routinely on my PS4, full neutral steering just using engines without any bugs, working exactly like in real life
He can never just make a simple vehicle, can he?
(But really, these are epic)
bro could make a literal army after giving him a few blocks and tools

Just imagine Reid Captain playing Minecraft with the "Create" mod
Now imagine it with Create Aeronautics and its sister mods, he could straight up make a flying tank or something using that.
Finally, the weapon to surpass Metal Gear.
I've been watching all of your videos on trailmakers, I love it 🤣🤣 you solve all of your problems by making more problems and it's awesome
here before video released
smh clasic roax
Cool but how
Also, why didn't u attend Stephen hawking's party
@@sentienttoast1319 hes got a couple secrets
Some build tanks in games made for building tanks, others just make it work...
don't know why, but it just feels better when you make something that wasn't designed with the game than something that was, like making a tank in a car game
MAAAAA! THERE'S A WEIRD FOCKIN TANK OUTSIDE

Scrapman shall give this creation a try... 100%
I'd love to see a crossover episode with these two guys
Man that Tank goofy af
I feel like Ried Captain is the Nile red of video games
He’s like Nile red but with video game builds
Have you tried out Space Engineers? It's got all sorts of gizmos and gadgets to mess around with, like most things a a **liiitle** bit of jank but i recommend it none the less!
this guy sounds like the nilered of gaming
When do you expect your second part of saving your 2 kerbals from EVE to be released!
Next week ideally
I think these are the types of creations for Scrap Mechanic
I think adding a mod to increase/remove the complexity cap would be fair game
Other games don't try to keep you from crashing your own computer, why should this one?
1AD's (First Armored Division's) motto: Big boy tanks go boom.
You need a single pair of drive sprockets ⚙️
Fun fact: in Russian "tank track" called by the same word as "caterpillar" ("Гусеница" - [ˈgusenitsa])
У французов такое же.
What about making some kind of a USUAL car? maybe very complicated but the one that just go fast and steer good)
I just got this game and was able to make a sort of armored car tank hybrid with an adjustable block with 6 tank cannons
Have you ever considered trying Brick Rigs?
There's unlimited complexity mod. You should use it.
Ball: aaaaaand it's gone
T R A I L T A N K
U put do much time in your videos it's amazing to see keep it up man!♡
Tonk time pog
Once again I hear Luke Davidson’s voice
The energetic you
Istg how far will you go with these vids man?? Insane!
Imagine seeing this beast on the battlefield… I’d be running the other way.
I’d shoot it because it has minimal armoring and one cannon, and it would only take a small vehicle with a singular large cannon to destroy it
You should make a machine which collects then launches the soccer ball into the goal and you can sim aswell
The mechanics for the tank remind me a lot of Strandbeests, if you don’t know what that is you should definitely check it out.
he made one in polybridge 2
I remember just making a block of thrusters and he is making this
The real tank has arrived!
Battleship
Two winged aircraft perhaps
Try making the engine main assembly
You could build a spin launcher in KSP
He should do a max complexity battle with scrapman
now i remember the time i built a tank in a roblox game and made life hell for other people in the server
sporder tank go pew
Fresh cut
Compact the logic
Use friction pads for treads
Make a rubik cube in whatever you want
Knew this was coming XD
Can you make a plane with an auto-pilot mode in trailmakers?
Theoretically yes, however you would need to manually program each input for it to go somewhere
I tried to make a tank, the treads wouldnt turn properly. (i was turning the entire tread part, not the wheels (yes i used offroad wheels))
Why do you sound like NileRed
you should try storm works build and rescue!
you should do videos on sprocket
Day 29 of asking Reid Captain to try space engineers.
If you aren’t here before me you have a skill issue
You should make a car powered by bugs
TM isn’t too buggy. This would be a pain
nice rc
*Boom.*
can you make a retractable zig zag bridge in poly bridge?
More KSP please!
Try make something that is very efficient and uses the simplest methods.
I’m impressed it looks nice
Make an elevator on trailmaker
Comment for the algorithm
VTOL?
"tank"
just use template vechiles in sandbox to get the tank
No fun
Yea
