@@axolotlgaming9144... Those aren't actually low friction, they just _look_ smooth. They were added so people didn't have to use a ton of hinges and ballasts to get smooth surfaces.

You didn't look into ballasts enough. The thing with the ballasts is that you can change their weight. Arms of bow are tapering towards the end which means that they are lighter. So if you make arms out of ballast of gradient weight you can get much more speed out of it.
Hey ReidCaptain I think there might be a solution for the bolt sagging down. What if you use a sabot since it covers the projectile and makes it fit the barrel or guide rail diameter and doesn't let it sag down or move around before it leaves the barrel. Btw awesome content and I always love your vids about besiege
rather than bending the arms back, try using just one arm and wind it up in a circle. hopefully this will ensure all parts of the arm achieve full bending.
Maybe try a railgun with vacuum blocks? I know you tried using that in other designs and they failed, but maybe you could use sensors or timers to activate the vacuum blocks at the right time.
Most of the hinges near the far ends of your bending beams do nothing because they don't bend, only a few near the center do the bending. If you want a more functional energy storage you should use have a beam that is very stiff near the center and remove as much weight as possible near the outer ends. I.E. any hinges that don't bend and store energy should be removed or replaced with a lighter item so that there is less mass to pull forward. If you can have 6 deep of hinges near the center, and 5 deep on the next row out, then 4 deep on the next row out etc. and still pull on all of the hinges somehow you might be able to get more energy transferred to the bolt.

You should definitely try out Stormworks, super good building and you can make things like modular engines and really complex logic

A cross bow was the first thing I built in besiege sandbox, it was definitely very janky but work relatively alright
