Eve Online is not a happy place. I have 2000 hours on record. Run away unless you have hours upon hours of time to spare making spreadsheets and solving linear optimisation problems. Oh and the gameplay itself is alright too I guess.
Matt, the concrete wall dispensers aren't entirely useless. I saw someone make a vehicle that uses them to build a bridge in front of itself as it drives.
No doubt you've figured it out, but I believe its the tires that are causing you to flip in the water, as they are acting as buoyant forces. Also, I think someone else mentioned it that using the dispensers you could probably make an entire bridge building vehicle.
Don’t forget that center of mass and center of gravity are two separate things. His center of gravity is lower than his center of mass so when the inflatables are emptied, the swap. Think of a pencil balanced vertically on your finger versus hanging underneath your fingers while you pinch the end
I just set my ballast tanks to different keys to control them independently from side to side and front to rear when I build subs. they're really shitty cuz they go so slow but they're very controlled
I think his engines are just really heavy and he should have car engines on the bottom boat engines on the top. The car engine should counteract the buoyancy of the tires and drag the bottom of his vehicle down
Many people don’t play the game for that long, but this games seems perfect for RCE and he has all of the power to build the strongest shape as a killing machine. (Even with a drill at the tip)
Matt, I’m astonished that you would take the masterpiece that was Snake Dog and replace it with the monstrosity that is Sub Dog. How I will ever emotionally recover from this, I still don’t know.
I bought this game after watching you play it. I have now completed the campaign, and I built an amazing amphibious sub. It took a long time to figure out, but eventually I realised that you need a couple of permanent floats on *top* of the vehicle to make it so that the top always floats upwards. If you added a float to your seat and then another at the front and one last one at the back I think your Sub Dog would stay upright easily. . I used up and down to control buoyancy and I added two impellers to the front pointing up/down which I controlled with Q and E, so I could make the front of the vehicle point up or down as I chose. I also added a crane thing at the front, I just found it easier to control when the crane was at the front as opposed to the rear.
seriously matt, there are so many playthroughs i want to see, it's incredible... this, infra, timberborn, minecraft and so on... you really are a lovely guy
Since RCE is playing Trailmakers, I just wanted to ask if he had played Scrap Mechanic yet? Most of the UA-camrs that had played Scrap Mechanic played Trailmakers and said it was similar.
5:23 Lumpy bump! The Lumpy Bumps are what my brother and I called a bunch of dirt piles at the end of a nearby road where we liked to ride our bikes. I was a little surprised to hear the term.
God, knowing how long I played Eve for and how long it's been since I stopped playing (no, I am not looking to go back, either), you're making feel old as heck, Matt. Jerk. ; )
I've watched you for awhile now brother, enjoy your videos. Not much of a commenter but always sub and like most of the time. You seem like a wonderful happy person with a fun, good attitude, I love it!
Nice! Once I unlocked the diving bell, I used the sub they have but kept upgrading it with engines when I salvaged more power cores. I also ended up with a "sinker" for the stuff on the very bottom. The planes are giving me trouble, especially the ones in the pre-made section.
I'm sure if you had enough patience, you could make a bridge out of metal crates. This could be somewhat easy I guess because the crates can go static after a second or so
RCE would love letsgameitout. He made hell for architects in his recent video of satisfactory which is a factory making game. He made a faccctorry like engineers would. Totally for the efficiency.
One way to fix this would be to give sea dog a line of floation on top along the center. However this was amusing so I assume the chat was just enjoying the content. Your weight is above your buoyancy so it keeps trying to rotate to put TBE weight down. So the top either needs more buoyancy or the bottom needs more weight.
I thought my Trailmakers designs were AWFUL.... until I saw this video and realized how many light-years ahead I was by comparison. Thanks for shoring up my self-confidence!
You should replace some blocks under the suddog son the wheights pull de bottom of the submarine. With the wheights over it, the top is pulled down and flip it.
Because of this channel, I've discovered Trailmakers, and my love for KSP has been rekindled. I don't know if I should thank or hate you for the time sink, but I wanted you to know it was your fault either way. I'm *this* close to downloading the beaver game, too. I need to stop watching, but I can't.
dont you have any sort of tilt controls (roll, pitch, yaw, etc) I guess you could, by putting underwater propellers on hinges and stuff. but it was quite pain watching it
I don't play this game, but I wonder if aero control surfaces work underwater. Normal subs don't use buoyancy to control pitch, much, unless they're not moving
On the one hand, I'm shouting "would you build something less shit", but on the other hand, im laughing my ass off at how shit his wet snakedog is. I'm torn between my love for well engineered vehicles, and my love for silliness.
I got this game because of your series. It’s not too bad, although the camera is very frustrating at times. Also, I am very evidently not an aeronautical engineer.

I don’t believe he has, but that would be great!
"It's all about efficiency, doesn't matter how it looks" A true engineer's words
Love this series, trailmakers just seems so cool, it just makes me want to build and create some crazy things.
With the buoyancy tanks.
Put them on the top of the sub, that should help with the flipping.
Using a steering hinge to grab the object has to be the most engineer-y solution
I'm hooked on timberborn, I need moar!!
5:23 Lumpy bump!
The Lumpy Bumps are what my brother and I called a bunch of dirt piles at the end of a nearby road where we liked to ride our bikes. I was a little surprised to hear the term.
You should add another joint so the steering is even sharper and it looks more like a snake, great video btw!
Solution, put wheels on both sides (top and bottom) so no matter what way you are you're never upside down and can always drive onto land
Glad to be part of 500k squad
You should change the submarine to give it bigger wheels so that it could drive on land no matter if it was upside down or not.
You need to play some Satisfactory try to make your lil city as efficient as possible

This was a fun series.
It's no Timberborners, but still fun.

Recently watched your archive of you making the brinook. It was simultaneously the funniest thing and most frustrating thing I've watched in a while.
It'll be editing into a vid soon so every one can be frustrated too! 😅
Congrats on 500k!
Whatever anyone says about EVE it's certainly an accomplishment in visual space art.

How anyone could downvote any of RCE videos is beyond me. I’m a MechE, and even I can’t downvote these gems!
1. aerodynamic parts work underwater.
2. add vertical/perpendicular engine that you can use to point yourself in correct direction
I'm sure if you had enough patience, you could make a bridge out of metal crates. This could be somewhat easy I guess because the crates can go static after a second or so
Hello I’m ur biggest fan I enjoy all of your vids
RCE would love letsgameitout. He made hell for architects in his recent video of satisfactory which is a factory making game. He made a faccctorry like engineers would. Totally for the efficiency.
Whenever I saw RCE's Trailmaker videos, I felt the urge to play Scrap Mechanic again 😅
I like when he said all sort and than brought up the candy all sorts
I like how the Engineer forgot what Center Of Mass & Center Of Tilt are.
18:29 perfectly well balanced with no exploit whatsoever....? Wait wrong channel.
Eve online as sponsor? congrats!
Love the series rce!!
Hell yes
You have a strange talent for making vehicles that are more stable when driving upside-down
Eve online is foooken dope x)
Creating The Strongest Shape(tm) at the end was absolutely necessary.
The 500k are getting close boys
If you add a medium pontoon to the top side of your submarine then it keeps it from going upside down. Just a suggestion.
Use paddles or fins to help you steer and stay straight. Also add role to help you maneuver the terrain better.
Congrats on 500k
Ur almost at 500k already!

Recovery Block! the Lit balloons where you're taking the chunks to
RCE good game idea is satisfactory
I need more story from trailmakers
you are great at this
That side is called the bell end
Matt finally done the strongest shape in that game. Nice...
you need permanent floatation devices to make you sub just barely negatively buoyant when the BCDs are around halfway
I watched scrapman play this and I always wanted another UA-camr that I liked to play this game
I stayed up till 1 am to watch this
Did anyone suggest big wheels or another set up top so it doesn't matter which side you're on?
YES YES YES TRAIL MAKERS CAMPAIGN IS THE BEST SEIRIS
Happy 500k
Congrats Matt for 500k, please do a face reveal, sincerely an undergraduate civil engineer.
You have to give TerraTech a try!! You would love it
Dude Eve online? Wow I haven't played that in years
This video is the proof that he is an engineer
RCE, set the underwater props to space, and use W S for pitch
the sub that it gives you, you can add wheels to the side and make it a very good sub car
This is basically Banjo Kazooie nuts and bolts vehicle building! so try that game out if you wanna build like an og lol

If you put your floats on the top of the sub it wont flip, that's only happening because of you being top heavy.

I built a car that rains cannon fire on opponents. And it ended up as a flying mortar car after I tried to stabilize and make it take jumps smoother.
I kept yelling at my screen "Put the buoyancy on TOP!"
