Actually a single feint (disengagement) is still a simple, albeit indirect, attack, unlike a one-two which is indeed a compound attack, according to the FIE Rules. Not that it's anything important to the subject matter but I thought it'd be best if we stick to the official terminologies, just saying...

Both. Everything taught here applies to both modern Olympic sport saber as well as real combat.
