I have had 2. Currently own one now, I love them. Someone below mentioned the Sandero. MG3 can be thrown around sticks to the road like glue, Sandero wobbles like a jelly. Much prefer the MG range …
The MG is susceptible to rather sudden understeer when driven on the limit, but that limit certainly feels faster than in a Sandero, which incidentally also suffers from sudden understeer
This is my car for the past 3 years come this July; cheap, sporty hatchback with sporty designs and nice interior. Other than that it is what it is pretty basic. But so far I’ve enjoyed my time driving it as my mainstay car. It may not be as good as Kia but the MG feels quite decent and I’m satisfied with it.
That's what I like about your vidios, you take a negative and make it a positive, yes good old school proper motoring, start and go...takes me about 3 minutes to do the the pilot checks on these modern gizmo laden Faraday buckets, lol
I know so many people who are irritated by all the equipment that's fitted to basically every modern car, it's nice to get into something that's new without all of it
Hi, I plan to buy my first car. I have a few cars in mind but can't decide. Can you help me rank them? The options are Honda Brio, Mazda CX-3, Nissan Almera Turbo, and MG3. Thank you.
We don't get the Brio in the UK, we also don't get the Almera Turbo but I have experienced the mexican market version of that car. The Mazda will probably be the most fun to drive, the Nissan will probably be the most comfortable so depending on what you want u would pick one of those
Thanks was looking for a Fiesta or Corsa. Car was offered the MG 3 knew nothing about this car . Thanks to your video I have learned a lot . Thanks excellent comments .
Would you say the reliability is good for an MG3? Like how often am I gonna be going to mechanic with complaints and spending hundreds to get it repaired? I’m currently driving a Mitsubishi Mirage which has a great reliability. But I need something new and I’ve had my eye on an MG3 for a while
currently deciding on my first car on Motability. Went today to look at the suzuki ignis which i am deadset on however when i got to the dealership i saw this mg and fell in love. However after watching the negative reviews about this mg being bumpy- useless suspension, slow start going up in speed. What would you pick? Suzuki seems more nimble and better suspensuion. What advantages does either have over eachother?
I’ve had mine 2 yrs and this is a very good summary, it’s not perfect by any means but definitely a fun engaging little car with character , sounds like the new hybrid ticks many of the missing boxes 👍
It's a more intelligently designed car, massively practical interior and the HEV system gets me better economy than Hyundai's mild hybrid personally. It costs more though so you would expect it to do things better. However if I had the budget for a brand new Jazz I would probably try and swing an i20n because I'm a petrol head
Have one if these as a hire car at the moment, unable to refuel due to the fuel cap release is not working, anyone else had this issue. I bought petrol a few days ago without an issue.
@BuckleUpShow no, I got it open in the end, used one of my plastic tyre levers from my mountain bike gently wiggling, and it popped open, sprayed some DW40 on the catch/mechanism and gave it a clean. No issues now.
The brakes don’t work in a serious emergency. They delay for upto 3-4 seconds. I mean do a holy crap im having a head on with a truck braking. I have driven 9 different mg3 and there all the same. I contacted the importer they are not doing anything. I contacted the factory they ignored me. I contacted the government testing dept they couldn’t be bothered, a insurance asser friend said the insurance companies know about it but don’t care. It doesn’t matter as its not their lives at risk.
Thanks so much for doing the review on the MG3 Core. I just bought a 2022 one. l heard you say it doesn’t have automated sensor wiping but please confirm this for me as l am hoping l heard you wrong. The car is lovely thanks again.
I would love it if Ferrari announced a small hatchback, mostly because they'd come up with some new preposterous name for that segment of vehicle in order to claim they don't make hatchbacks

It's decent motoring for sensible money
Everyone complains how cars have become too bloated with all the new tech, well here is a car that is simple, looks nice and F all tech.
It's a rarity these days

Very dated vehicle but that can be a good thing. The driving experience takes you back.
It's refreshing

Yes, £389.99

Thank you for watching 😁
As someone looking to buy a first car, this was really helpful and well made. Thanks!
You are most welcome

This model is no longer sold new, but it has a seven year warranty which should give you peace of mind on reliability

This definitely rides harder, I would go with the Ignis

We're getting the hybrid on test soon, so far we've only taken it for a short test drive but we liked it a lot
This or honda jazz or i20? Rank the three please
1) Honda Jazz 2) Hyundai i20 3) MG 3
@@BuckleUpShow wow interesting, why jazz better than i20 for you ?

Have you called the hire company?
@BuckleUpShow no, I got it open in the end, used one of my plastic tyre levers from my mountain bike gently wiggling, and it popped open, sprayed some DW40 on the catch/mechanism and gave it a clean. No issues now.
Please rank these : swift ( normal not sport), i20 , clio. Thanks
i20, Swift, Clio (though we've not driven the brand new Clio yet!)
@@BuckleUpShow people are saying swift is better than i20, why do you think the opposite
Much nicer interior, better range of spec, more attractive styling
@@BuckleUpShow interiors are both plastic inside nothing special from what i saw
The i20 is well-appointed materials and fantastically assembled

This car was not fitted with rain sensing wipers
Excellent video! Thankyou!
You're welcome
Was about to pull the trigger on one of these until I saw no Android Auto. That's just ridiculous. Real shame.
There's a new model coming next year, and I can't see them not having android auto on that one
All about badge snobbery ….. put a Ferrari badge on it and it would be priced at £100K
I would love it if Ferrari announced a small hatchback, mostly because they'd come up with some new preposterous name for that segment of vehicle in order to claim they don't make hatchbacks
One of the best cars ive ever owned
What other cars have you owned?
Im waiting to collect mine as my new car sensible priced car.
Are you excited?
@@BuckleUpShow yes first new car since 1994
I rather push an Austin Mini Metro than drive an MG3.
Good for you
🤡
The MG3 will either fail in a day or last for 10 years, unreliable production but reliable design
Good used buy then?
Is this made in China?
Depends where you’re buying it, but mainly yes. Some in Thailand and some were made in Birmingham until 2016.
I have MG3, and when I driving..there’s a one popping sound on your right side. Anyone have this problem?
This car didn't have that
Can you fit an aftermarket android car play system
👍🏻
Ta duck
the cars a pile of junk ny daughter was given one at a hire centre for a week its just basic plastic on wheels with many faults drives like a tin can
Very bourgeoisie statement you're putting out there, clearly not happy being a member of the hoi polloi
Must have had a bad hire car, I’ve had 3 MG’s and they are great
Mg3 are great i love mine
