I’m in California, March 2 2020 I got into a head on collision while on the clock, the very next day I was released to modified duty by the workers comp dr. So the same afternoon I went to an attorney and it’s been weird….I’m still waiting to get approved for an epidural shot, cortisone shot, and shoulder surgery. I go to 2 dr’s visits every month for check ups but no approvals from the insurance have been made, my attorney says we cannot do anything but wait for the adjuster to approve the medical treatment but it’s been 1 year and 3 months. I have proof of shoulder tears and nerve damage but the adjuster or insurance are just not approving any medical treatment. My attorney says all we can do is wait for their response, is that true or do you believe there’s other things that can be done? I understand you’re not my attorney, I’m simply asking for an opinion on the matter.
List of Dr who take WC is very slim snd some hard to get in to. I had authorized referral for a specialist I’ve been trying to see for months. When I called to schedule appointment their office staff would say they didn’t receive it, after several phone calls and refaxing paperwork. They still wouldn’t schedule me until I had to complain to other doctors and my attorney. Then after finally getting the consultation with them, my attorney said that the office said they didn’t see me when he called to get the report 🤯 its just a small part of what has been a nightmare experience for me dealing with WC and their doctors
Unfortunately, it's just another reason why the system can fail an injured worker in so many ways. Knowing the names of the doctors on the MPN List helps you choose the good doctors.
I've also had neck and lower back pain since got the ok to get xrays on lower back and insurance approved the orthopedic so i have heard from the company dr....and was expecting a call from them as to who the ortho was but have yet to receive that call !
Beverly , this sounds really frustrating...I'm sorry the company is treating you like this. If you haven't yet consulted with a Workers' Compensation attorney, please do so. If you're in Northern California, I can schedule a consultation for you with our team -- they'll be able to guide you.
I was released back to work right away just after a fall at work and with a concussion ! Of course the dr is the companys Dr and the insurance CMI owned by the company I work for.....being given the run around here
I told my spine doctor I can't go bak ND explained to her my job always violates my restrictions ND she said there is nothing she can't do about it.
Yeah, doctors don't have a say sometimes. That's when getting a lawyer can help.
