Worked in the oilfield and roofing... lots of fiend's in both!! I know so many people who have been hurt terribly .. not one ever got what they deserved , not one got good medical. I broke my ankel while at work and workmans comp has paid my medical expense and wages up to date. (Only $8,640) I go to the doctor tomorrow and potentially return to work. So would that be MMI?
Would i expect WC to make a settlement offer with more money or should i bring it up?
Id think another 8-10k would be reasonable to cover future expense from the ankel injury.
Any insight is very appreciated.

Apply for unemployment at that point.

Hi Jose, I can't say since Workers Compensation Law is (slightly) different between States. You should consult with a California lawyer.

Hi Jose, I practice in California. There is a similar final report in CA that provides permanent restrictions. Also a similar process going back to work. I have a couple of videos on this if you're interested.
I just got a "cooy" of a letter workers comp insurance company sent to my Dr. To see if I am at MMI I made. Dr appointment to discuss when we should do next. I have had 9 surgeries on my hands and elbows.
I still have pain in o e more elbow a d one more trigger finger, and I can not make a fist with either hand. 2 carpal tunnel 1 ulnar on Right elbow and 5 or 6 trigger fingers. The Dr I originally had was really good but has moved to a dift state. The new did 2 trigger fingers and 1 carpal tunnel. But I don't trust him to do my other ulnar surgery he plans on just releasing it and not secure to anything. I feel stuck...
You can and should ask for a second opinion. If this is in Colorado you also have a right to a Division Independent Medical Examination if they release you to MMI.
So I'm a correctional officer and they only give me light duty for a year. I'm now permanent and stationary so I know they can't accommodate me...what happens? I don't think I can file for unemployment while being a peace officer
I don't necessarily do unemployment but I am unaware that State employees are ineligible for unemployment. Do you have a Union? They may be able to clarify. You should at least apply if you are off work - if they are going to deny you that have to deny you in writing.

From what I understand...the moment the state finds out I'm perm and stationary..they'll contact my job to see If they can accommodate..they'll say no...and basically lay me off to collect industrial disability. Just don't know how much
The problem with returning to work hurt. If your a good worker. They are going to hint and pout about things needing to be done. While other workers ( Blue Collar idiots who work injured/hurt) berate you till you are soon doing your normal job. And popping pain relievers and complaining about hurt body part. While they all say something stupid like "Welcome to the club My Blank has been hurting me for years..."
