Everytime (and I really mean every single time) this video comes up in my playlist, everything else is in life is paused. I just sit, staring, mesmerized by the combined art of dance and music. I never seen so much emotions expressed in the same performance, as in this music video. This is more than art, unexplainable.

I have always interpreted this song as the Abyss of Depression. Every second, every chord, every note, is one more step towards suicide, represented by a bridge of tranquility, while meditating and executing the difficult decision. From my point of view, the final joy provided by "Rocks" announces the passage towards death, but not as something "bad" or dark, but as a way out of all earthly problems.
I feel that Imagine Dragons always goes against depression, even though songs like "dream" "release" are so sad, always at the end of the bridge there is a desire to contradict the initial thought of the song. This is totally depressive if , but Rocks is the call of someone close to you who tells you "I knocked on your window but you didn't listen to me, we are falling (together, not you alone), let the world feel us, and finally asks: why can't we see what is in front of us?

People who reject God, grow darker in their souls, until the darkness overtakes them. They try to save themselves because their pride doesn’t want to humble themselves to letting God Save them. And they struggle and fight to, but eventually they sink deeper and deeper. This is their hell. It’s here on earth, in the heart of nonbelievers. It’s a sad reality. You see they’re making a heart, and then the heart gets pulled apart by the water.

Eu sentia q a pessoa q cantava essa musica entendia exatamente oq eu estava sentindo e me fez me sentir menos só nessa confusao q É minha mente. Voces me deram forças com esse album, ansiedade e depressão na pre adolescência é um fato q muts ignoram e que so percebem tarde dms. After many, many times watching the mv, I like the way the scene transitions between the underwater and the terrestrial frames. That creates a new idea that creates a very special contrast in the speed and slowness of the mv. There is a lot of contrast in this mv, not only in terms of form but also in content. It's like there's an explosion, everything is beautiful and slowed down for the viewer to enjoy. Underwater scenes thanks to the reflection of water, contours are still clearly visible and detailed. Watching Imagine Dragon's mv, I have never been disappointed in the way the content and art they show. There is always a message and a new beauty, I can say I am a big fan of this band. My writings and thinking have flourished in large part because of them. Thank Imagine Dragon.

This choreography with the lyrics tells me a heart-break and its process. Especially when both people still seem to love each other, but they do not know how to love properly, either side or one of the two does not have the maturity to admit mistakes or to respect boundaries, and they cannot express expectations and align it, or one of the sides cannot handle daily frustrations without projecting harsh words to the other side, and both end up broken by disrespect, guilt, blame, and accusations, and the dialog wasted and drained them, the conversations were not with a proper method, a proper communication, the proper kindness. And it appears the days you feel connected, and you want to hug, the days you are aloof, and then you feel like having their attention, they feel like having your attention when the eyes are grayed out. Eventually, the end comes of so much lack of skills. It breaks my heart every time I watch it. I feel my heart beat stronger, my breath goes faster, and it triggers my past pain. It is so deeply sad.

I wish this was on the radio instead of Radioactive. This is their best song in my opinion. It has a perfect mix of finality, failure and revelation. It perfectly encompasses the feeling of giving up on life, the feeling that it amounts to nothing and you'll never succeed. It's a distillation of that CLICK when all the pieces fall into place. This song is nothing short of a masterpiece.

@@sunderland666 It might be the context I listened to it in. It was very clear that the lead singer had serious depression even before they released that information. Plus I had just given up on life and this song matches that feeling EXACTLY. Have you ever experienced that?
@@sunderland666 Also, I think you kinda hit the nail on the head, but the thing that's been dragging the speaker down is life itself. Night visions seems to have fairly prevalent themes of suicide.
This songs is the voice of every depressed soul. The way it cries out when you feel so weak to do it on your own is powerful!
This just shows how amazing Imagine Dragons are. They can release a song almost 8 years old and decide to release an art film video 8 years later and still, people are loving it.
