My wife died Friday after her second battle with cancer, and only 32. She suffered tremendously. She's at peace and has no suffering, but i truly am lost. Dont see a way forward. We bury her on Thursday. Lord, give me strength to make it through the ceremony. This song found me at the right time. Just wow.

My fiancee introduced me to this song, explaining how much it meant to her after her husband succumbed to his cancer a few years ago. I thought I understood it, and appreciated all of the the themes and emotions expressed here.
Then she passed a few weeks ago from cancer, 4 days before I was to fly to the US to be with her. I understand, feel and appreciate everything a whole lot more now.

Oh my goodness - I’m so sorry to hear - well I’m in a similar boat - lost my mom to cancer and she was the hub that held the family together - and my brother and my dad and myself continue to struggle our lives with out her- well when this song was released I could not believe his fitting it was format that time!!
my brother was involved in an accident which got his girlfriend killed and he is in prison now for the rest of his life!! So now my dad and I are all we have it just eats me up inside at times - this song I listen to over and over again it takes me back to those memories because of how wrecked my life is and now trying to pick the pieces up to keep moving forward has been an upward challenge for me but I keep going - one day at a time.

Today was my birthday when they released the music video and my dad died when I was 13 (I just turned 18) I miss him every day. It hurts like hell
Alisha Reynolds, Dan's Sister-in-law died from Cancer, on a interview he say she was a light in the darkness, bringing joy everywhere she goes and every person she cross by, in my personal experiences I have lost 3 love ones against Cancer, leaving a void in my heart, first was one of my paternal uncles, second my elder brother and third my maternal uncle, others died from either Parkinson (Paternal Uncle), Covid-19 (My grandmother) and a rare illness (Another paternal uncle), this was one by one on a short lapse of time, leaving me with no chance of mourn those lost!! so I feel sorry for Dan, Cancer is a hell of a Sickness!!!
Edit: Also, Love how he is going to the microphone to sing with the band but, he is so sad that he just can't sing and go away to clear his mind going to the beach to get the acceptance that she is not around, just those memories he has of her!!!

A bit late posting to this, but it came up as UA-cam was randomly playing things for me. I've listened to it multiple times be it on here, the radio, or spotify. I just wanted to take a moment to write out how it has affected and helped me during a very difficult process.
When I first heard it, 2 years ago, my grandfather had just passed away. The man, for all intent and purpose, that was my father figure for majority of my life. Every time I hear this song, like now, I can't help but take a moment to remember him. To grieve him. I allow myself a few minutes to do that while listening to this song whenever it comes up. Grieving is never over.

I lost my twin brother in 2010. He was only 21. This song and music video is very similar to how I felt and feel still to this day. This song makes me cry every time. With the lyric and video being a great representation of loss of a loved one. Close or even distant family and friends.

I've heard this song a hundred times and love it.... But tonight. Tonight it hit so very differently. I lost my mom in 2020 quite tragically (not due to covid). At the time I didn't have time to process my loss. I was incredibly sad, but I always hide my feels because I have to be the strong one to hold everyone else together. There are still days, 3 years later. I pick up th phone to call my mom only to remember, she won't be answering the phone. Today, for the first time I let all that pain process. Lost my mom to cancer last year when I was 19, I'm still in college. This song really speaks to me because after she passed, it's like I became a different person. My grades started slipping, I started sleeping around and getting into alcohol and drugs. Things I never would have done before. I just wish I would have been able to talk to her one last time, because chemo really messed her head up in her last days. My flight back home was late and she passed while I was on the plane, every day I think about what I could have done differently to show her that I loved her because I never had the chance. When I heard this song in the car, I started bawling, the first time I've cried since she passed. It might sound cheesy, but I've been listening to Imagine Dragons religiously since I was in elementary school, and this is the one that really has inspired me to turn my behavior around, because I know what I'm doing isn't what she would have wanted. I miss you, mom. Thank you, Imagine dragons, for inspiring me my whole life.

i lost my uncle a few months ago, and i am still trying to get over the loss. this song reminds me of him.
My dad loved imagine dragons. His new favourite song by them was “Follow you”. I found my dad dead from a fentanyl overdose a year ago. This song came out right after he died… one of his favorite artists came out with this right after he died. Almost made me feel like he was trying to tell me something.. Still makes me cry every time. Miss you so much dad

They keep us going.🥰 I'm an old woman who's lost far too many far too young. I lost my mom 3 years ago.
She died to cancer.
We buried her on her birthday.
I didn't cry until I was in the middle of class the next week.
My emotions about it were on and off. I felt terrible, as if I wasn't crying or being emotional when I was supposed to.
A year later I'm done with high school living on my own...and I break down...I was a complete wreck.
Ever since then it never has gotten better.
But I've realized that sucking it up isn't what needs to be done.
When I need to cry, cry.
When I need to scream, scream.
But never forget and never regret.
I miss her so much and it never lessens or gets better.
And that's okay.
It's okay to not be okay.
She was such a big part in my life, and I never realized that until she was gone.
If anyone here is going through this pain, please hear my words.
You are going to be okay.
This person you've lost, they will always be watching over you.
No matter how hard it gets please don't ever give up.
We're in this together, you and me...all of us.

My aunt(44) died so unexpectedly mounth ago. The biggest funeral ive seen in my life. Thousands of people whose life she changed and touched in a way were there. She was there one day and the other she just wasnt. The 4 kids she left behind 2 of which are 5 years old are left to her husband whom she marries a year ago. They just got into new house the kids started preschool the 3rd kid is about to finish school for pilot. And 4rth has a 5 figure job. She just got her life on tracks she was so happy this song reminds me of her. Turns out arthery in her left shoulder decided to give up that type of damage means death within 30 mins and canot be detected. I just wanna the crew of imagine dragons for making cry the hell out of me♥️
2 years and i have found myself crying after listening to this song. some people who enjoy beats think its a love song but if you understand lyrics, it breaks you as you reason with whatever Dan was singing

This song hits hard as I Lost my 4 year old son to brain cancer. During his daily radiation treatments Before they would sedate him, he would play Thunder and Believer as he sang to every word. He would dance his way down the hall to the sedation room as he would sing loud for everyone to hear. He Loved Music but most of all He Loved Imagine Dragons so much! He fought so hard. My soul is shattered without his light in my life. The Waves of grief are so strong some days. 💔😖

My great grandpa died 4 years ago, I never really knew any of my grandpas so he was the closest thing I knew to a grandpa, he lived to be 97 and lived a wonderful life, while I overtime have overcome the grief, I know some are still mourning over losing someone, just know that your not alone, and that someone always cares for you, whether you know it or not.

My grandmother passed in 2012, and I never got to say good bye, or attend her funeral (because my dad was just that kind of spiteful at the time). My dog passed last year, and although it's not the same, she was still a major part of my life. I was with her until the end.

I'm 16 years old and my mother passed away when I was 13. She had been battling cancer for over a year but still managed to be there for my family as much as she could. She was a literal sunshine and the best storyteller I have ever met.
