Absolutely inspiring. Your daughter must be so proud to have something so beautiful made by her dad.
I've been building electric guitar for years and I think that helped me with building this acoustic guitar, plus planning and researching it well really helped me a lot.
Dude, you literally got more tools and knowledge than most guitar makers here in the Philippines, I've seen Master Craftsmen that deals with restoration on antique guitars and they don't have the machinery same as yours. I've seen lots of guitars made, with several methodologies, your process is nothing but perfect, if this is your first guitar build, then I guarantee, you're going to be one of the best guitar makers here in the Philippines. The lighter the guitar in terms of weight the better.... Tightly grained pinewood, and less than 2.8 mm top is what I'd consider. 1.8 mm to 2.3 mm for hardwoods
I made the top and back at 2mm and 1.8mm for the sides so I can easily bend it. I should've made the top at 1.8mm to make it resonate better but I also considered warping (which is very common due to our country's humidity) and decided to stick at 2mm. Thanks for your comment I really appreciate it!
@@GitaraMaker yeah, warping is an issue, better stock the woods for tops at 5 to 8 mm thick and then thin it once the moisture content drops to about 9 to 13%.
@@gmlo719 yes, I have that wood for 5 years at 13mm thick. I'm waiting for a big bandsaw to resaw it but can't afford for now, so I resaw it with a crosscut handsaw and took me 3hrs just to finish it haha. You seem to know a lot of these things are you a luthier yourself?
You put your daughter's name on that guitar that is beautiful. Someday when you pass on she will hold that guitar very dear to her heart. Congratulations to you my friend on making such a beautiful instrument

Gagawa ako ng detailed step by step process sa pag-gawa ng guitar na ito, baka sakali makatulong sa mga gustong mag-build. Thank you po sa pag-support!
Absolutely beautiful. What a fantastic job. Compared to the electric guitar an acoustic one is so much harder to build. Perfect choice on color. It's simple and looks great. I absolutely love some of your choices just because of your daughter.
Can i ask about the string spacing at the bridge? So much effort and skill went into this guitar, i wouldn't want to assume that the string spacing is an oversight, and has some meaning behind it?
I customized this guitar for my daughter, she is transitioning from Ukulele to Guitar that's why the spacing is narrow than normal guitar or even baby guitars. I'm really having difficulty playing it at the end because of that, but really happy that my daughter is comfortable playing with it.
This video was absolutely mesmerising! I couldn't look away, and have a strange sense of calm that wasn't present before. Thank you, that was bordering on the spiritual.
I totally agree! I was glued to this video from the start to the end...there is just so many things to say, but all of it are outstandingly pleasant...just love it!
Most of the things that I do don't guarantee success, and I doubted a lot of time with my methods. Like throwing things and see what sticks mentality, but somehow calculated. Thank you!
Thanks @DERESÉ Music I really gave my best building this guitar because I know my daughter is going to treasure it.

Your guitar has the most perfect build, because the overlay was made by yourself, as it should be, and not, like many others, "by eye", according to a template. Hence the result. Congratulations!
