Those CDI boxes don't give you any warning that they are going to go out.. 😲One moment you're just riding along & the next it's like somebody pushed the kill button 😭.. I just fixed one today that its CDI wire just came loose from its connection. I'll have that one posted real soon if you're interested.. 🚴♂🚴♂
the one way you can kepp your cdi spark plug wire from coming loose is by putting some heat shrink tube around where ther the wire connects to the cdi,but first wrap a piece of electrical tap around the area
And what's really messed up about that is it does it in the flight coming back from the store going to the store going to work it seems like that would be something that would get you to your destination and then you come back out later to leave it will not start up no it just dies there in the middle of the damn road
@@EcoTransGaspoweredBikes true that and and then sometimes you proud of her you pull up somewhere on Broadway on a Friday night Nashville Tennessee and you pull right between two fat boy Harleys LOL in the motorcycle parking
If you are checking for spark you must have the clutch engaged ( clutch lever released ) so that the engine turns over when you spin the back wheel. Yes you are correct, clutch lever in is released & clutch lever out, clutch engaged.
@@EcoTransGaspoweredBikes for sure ! Although reason being the rear locked right up and had no give and lost all compression.... Piston gave out dude sold me a messed up motor 🛵😭🤣😁
Having a backfiring problem, and gotta pedal like a one legged man in an ass kicking contest and it will finally take off. But I've recently made upgrades. Just put new cdi on it. Let's give it a go and see. Halfbreed 80cc Ported cylinder Reed valves Windowed piston High compression head Expansion chamber pipe 24mm flat side carb 1ga. Gas tank 10x36 29" all aluminum trek
I have found with bikes in the past that if the spark is working as it should & you have to pedal the bike like your in an Olympic event to get it to run, it's usually either a bad seal at the cylinder or head gasket OR the cylinder is just getting worn out & the compression is low...just something to look into..👀👀
@Eco-Trans Gas powered Bikes I'm having problems my bike is brand new.. I I only got a half tank out of her now won't start after tightened the head bolts Noticed I have Bad leak I have good spark tested all my Is electrical components Also took apart my carb To see if there was any debris in the jet I've done just about everything
i fund out the first problem was that the magnet was in the wrong way. that why the cdi never worked. however i did rebuild my motor before installing. and found out that i messed up.
If it's a brand new kit I would consider contacting the seller & exchanging it or at least contact them & see what they say, sometimes they will walk you through a little trouble shooting.. It could be just a small thing..
I would say; It depends on what your running, if your stuff is pretty much a stock kit then just a regular CDI will work just fine, but if your one of those folks running big fuel delivering jets in their carb. or are building your engine up to make all the horsepower you can then I'd go ahead & go for a higher output CDI to help Ingnite all that extra fuel you're trying to burn. As far as a brand you'll have to decide that one on your own, there are a few types out there in the higher performance area, I have used a few throughout the years & they are all pretty close to the same, not one stood out as the ultimate one.. 🤷♀🤷♀
@@EcoTransGaspoweredBikes thank you, yeah it's all stock I'm new to this as this is my first time trying to build one I got the IMAYCC 80cc off of Amazon, I was able to get ahold of customer service and they gave me a full refund but let me keep everything and sent me replacement parts which should arrive this week hopefully. So I hope to God I can get this thing running, Ive poured so much time and energy into this thing and just left frustrated beyond belief lol. Love the videos they've been super helpful!
@@samklein7027 I'm glad that any of my videos helped you in any way.. I hope after you get your replacement parts that everything goes well & you get to get out & enjoy your bike instead of working on it & getting stressed out.. 🚴♂🚴♂You'll get there.. 👍👍
I just got one and I put it all together and spark plugged worked but when I went to go start it up no power so I checked spark plug again and no spark could I have messed up on the wires somewhere.
I have found in the past that sometimes it's a bad kill switch button.. If you have the blue wire connected to the blue wire & the black wire connected to the black wire you should be fine on the wiring, disconnect the kill button wires & see if it has spark. If it does it's a bad kill button switch.
Mine had the colors reversed so blue went to black and vice versa. Now it has a yellow spark which means it's weak. I've tried new CDI and magneto twice without any increase in spark strength. And one of them was supposed to be high performance. Lol
Yes..If the white wire was grounded it will ruin the magneto & could have shorted out the CDI too. If you have removed the white wire from being grounded & still have no spark, then I would buy a new magneto & CDI. I would get both so your sure it will work when you get the parts.. 👍
Unfortunately, if it's broken in area that can't be re-soldered, you'll probably have to replace the magneto loop. Or Pick-up coil as it is sometimes referred to.. 😪
Hey that’s a real good video about that CDI box now what was part one again LOL I know the black wire goes to black blue to blue yellow and red no way yellow and green don’t matter OK OK well anyway you are a grab a couple of them bikes and a sign to put out by the shop might help you sell a couple of more just a little tidbit of information I think you might Like to know
I replaced my cdi and it still has no spark. Magneto gives off power, power flows through the cdi. Spark plug is new and has power flows through it. Kill switch is disconnected and still no spark
If you have checked the Magneto with an OHM Meter & it's making power & power is flowing to the CDI but not coming out ( or going through), check the plug wire it's self & the boot to make sure the wire isn't broke inside.. There is also a small chance the CDI could be faulty inside. 🤷♂🤷♂
Your right.. 👍 After posting the video I caught that too.. 🤦♂I knew someone would eventually call me out on that, I knew I was doomed. 😭. I'm not mad at you, actually congratulations on catching it. 👍Thanks for watching the video. 🙏
@@EcoTransGaspoweredBikes Thank you, just can't believe it took five years. Pretty sure you didn't lose any sleep over an honest mistake. Shite happens, you could always pin a comment saying you meant electrode not diode. Anyway, keep up the good work.
Make sure the clutch is engaging, sometimes those 2-stroke engines have problems & need adjustments right out of the box. Take the right side cover off the engine & make sure when you turn the rear wheel that the clutch flywheel gear is turning the little gear on the crankshaft, I've had them come with a bad or missing key way & it doesn't turn over the engine, it just spins on the end of the crank shaft. 😡😡
Thanks for adding that..👍 At the time I was making the video I drew a blank, I knew what it was called but for the life of me I drew a blank when shooting the video...😥
Just because you didn't mention it and some of the people watching your video might not think of it if you don't have the ability to do it the way you're doing it check the spark you know with the back wheel off the ground you can also pop off the Magneto cover and get a drill in a socket and disengage your clutch and then you can kick it over with the drill and do the same thing I'm sure you know that but I thought I'd point it out since you didn't mention it and well I know from being new at one time that I didn't understand the stuff enough to know you could do that with a drill.
The reason I personally didn't mention the drill method is because in the past I've seen people use that method & they would use a hi-torque drill or an impact driver & it would break off the end of the crankshaft at the magneto nut.. They would put the driver on their & just pull the trigger & snap it right off.. 😢😢 Yes.. That method will work if you're careful.. 👍👍When I made this video I thought I should stay on the safe side for those who wouldn't know that could happen, so I always say use the turn the rear wheel by hand method to be on the safe side, it's easy to do even if it's not on a stand, just pick up the bike by the seat, you don't have to turn the wheel fast or very far to check this.. Thanks for watching & for your reply.. 👍👍
1St. unplug your kill button and try it , I have seen them short in the past & cause a no spark situation. 2nd remove the magnet for the Mag.& make sure the halve moon key is in tact & in place as it should be..🚴♂️
