Thanks boone for this tutorial , please make a video on every after effect tool and what it is and how to use it correctly , it will be helpful , thank you 🙏
Good video as always! I would have preferred the Linear expression. Your method is very clean; however, linear-expression would be applicable to duplications, templates, etc. a lot easier. E.G. pathnull = thisComp.layer("Trace Shape Layer 1: Path 1 [1.1]").effect("Trace Path")("Progress"); MilesTotal = 135 Math.round(linear(pathnull, 0, 100, 0, MilesTotal)); "MilesTotal" Could be nicely changed to layer text for next-level organization and iterating.
Fantastic. I have been watching all of your AE+GEOlayers 3 videos and have learned a ton, thanks! I have AE, am now convinced that I need GEOlayers 3 but wonder if I can hold off on the Maptiler subscription and still have a functional setup? I don't have the budget now and realize that Maptiler will be helpful, so I am mostly wanting to know if it is "essential"?
You can do so much without the MapTiler account. It's not essential, but it opens up so many customization options. However, I urge you to check out this video from Johnny Harris. He uses MapBox, which can be setup for free. It's an alternative to Maptiler. ua-cam.com/video/GsojLuJpe_0/v-deo.html
I thought I was hot shit using After Effects to make titlecards, but this is a whole new ballgame. Super cool tutorial, I'm excited to try out GEOlayers for myself. Subbed :)
I try to link the shape, the label position to the path position but I really can't, as soon as I link that it disappears totally. Can you help me please?
I like your tutorials Boone, you are one of my favourite teacher on yt! ;) Can i create a night map with shining cities in Geolayer or is it possible only in Google Earh?
Quick question. Can you list all of the tools/plug-ins used in this tutorial? I'm trying to wrap my head around the total investment. Second question, what do you recommend for beginners? I don't have any experience with After Effects and I would like to add maps to my projects. Thanks in advance for your help. I added your subscribe button to one of my videos. Onward, AW
Adobe After Effects - $21/month GEOlayers 3 - $279 MapTiler - $25/month So regarding the advice, GEOlayers is probably way too advanced for you. If you're not familiar with After Effects, it will be very difficult to wrap your head around what's going on. My recommendation would depend on what specifically you're trying to create, be that a path animation or simple location markers, etc. Thanks for downloading the button!
GeoLayers is too expensive. . It's a nice plugin, but way overpriced. Still I love seeing inspiring tutorials like this with GeoLayers. Then I can do the same animation without GeoLayers. :)
Glad you like the videos! I have to disagree with it being overpriced. The amount of crazy things you can do with maps, I think it's probably set at the right amount. I think the problem is that another tool doesn't exist at that medium price range. You only have the lower level plugins that add basic routes, but nothing that can work with geospatial files like GEOlayers. It's truly an insanely powerful tool. It just has a bunch of features that the average user probably doesn't need. Speaking of which, what tools do you use to create your maps? Just Adobe After Effects?
Hit the thumbs up button if you like these Tesla maps! Pick up GEOlayers 3 here - aescripts.com/geolayers/?aff=47
Boone, you make the best geolayers 3 tutorials, Thankyou
Glad you think so! Thanks for the kind words. :)

Mondays are much better with Monday maps tutorials :)
Haha, thanks!
Where is it possible to download the freescript Nulls from path ? Nice video thank you
Thank you Boone! This was really helpful. I’ll try that in GeoLayers for sure, especially with the increasing numbers.
You're welcome! Thanks for watching.
Thanks you, Bro

Yes indeed, I agree that the Linear expression is a better option. I was worried it was a bit too advanced for some viewers. :)
Terima kasih banyak, tutorial yang sangat hebat, sangat membantu

If you end up getting it let me know how you like it! It's crazy deep and powerful.

GEOlayers 3 looks very nice, but for 3 or 4 times that I may use it for my motorcycle tours is hard for me justify $279 for a Ae plugging.
Yeah, might not be worth it. Maybe try the Google Earth Studio method with KML files.
Let’s try and make this dude famous so that he can buy a Tesla. :)
Cuz man this dude deserves a Tesla for his content
Haha, thanks! I would very much appreciate that. 😎
I like your tutorials Boone, you are one of my favourite teacher on yt! ;) Can i create a night map with shining cities in Geolayer or is it possible only in Google Earh?
Hey thanks! Well GEOlayers works with Video Copilot's Orb, which can indeed do the night maps with shining cities. :)
I use Mapbox instead of Maptiler, it's free and has all the same options I'm pretty sure.
Indeed, just unfortunately seems like a bit of a clunkier of workflow.
Is Mapbox also free if you monetize your videos?
