    Thanks for reviewing the standard 790 Adventure. It looks like an amazing bike. Personally, I'm KTM all the way.

    Excellent review! I actually went to the dealership today and sat on this bike. Weather was crummy so I couldn't take it for a test drive. However, I did come home and ended up buying it over the phone. I'll be picking it up on Monday. I cannot wait to ride this thing!!

    Thanks for a nice review. I had wondered which I should buy, BMW F750GS or KTM 790 Adventure. I saw your reviews for both those bikes and had a test ride at respective dealers in Tokyo yesterday... as a result I decided to go with 790 Adventure. Yes, you are right, it is great FUN and light!! They are irresistible charm of this bike (also its quickshifter was awesome)! I can't wait the delivery in mid-May.

    The 790 series is just perfect. Of course before 1500/2000 rpm the ktm effect is always the same (possible to correct this with ecu adjustment) but yeah with this fabulous torque and the quickshifter it's just amazing. Would like to see the R version as well. As always a pleasure to follow your review.

    Great review. I just bought the white and black version. I pick it up next wed. First day my better half is off to take me up to pick it up. I will be solo as she has zero interest in riding but she doesnt care if i do. Good woman. I am lucky and am looking forward to taking it all over the desert here in Arizona. I will be curious how it handles the heat. Hopefully better than i do. Where was this filmed? It is pretty there. Thank you again, be safe.

    Hi I asked a question a few days ago and I think my point was not clear. What I was asking was since you have reviewed the BMW R 1250 R and the KTM 790 which bike do you think is the best all a rounder which includes comfort, quality and best buy? I really enjoy your reviews you have a unique style and do quality work. Thanks for your hard work and dedication.

    • @NothingToProve
      @NothingToProve  5 років тому +2

      Hi Paul, ok, I think I understand your question now. But and this is a big BUT, these two bikes are totally different, aimed at two totally different groups of people. One light weight adv touring and the other heavier high quality/fit-finish, torque monster roadster. So to say which is the better all-rounder just depends on what you want from a bike. For an all-rounder I'd lean towards the KTM, it's just more versatile from the get-go.
      Cheers, Scott

    Hey Scott, I have just found your channel a couple of days ago and I'm really enjoying it. (I'm going through the old videos one by one). Just a quick question: Have you thought about reviewing some older bikes? (I mean, in addition to the new ones you review. I love the new stuff as well). It's a niche not really explored on UA-cam, and I think it would be useful for the regular guy, looking to buy a dream bike that is now 4 or 5 years old and therefore, affordable. My suggestion: Start with a BMW K1300 S. Cheers!

    • @NothingToProve
      @NothingToProve  5 років тому

      Hi edmaluf, yes I've had the same thought, in fact last summer I did several used bikes, I titled them "Used Bike Series" but the problem is they just don't get the views. It takes about 20 hours for me to make each video and for 1000 views, it's just not worth the effort. It becomes a matter of economics at that point, unfortunately, spend 20 hours and make €1 on the video. So new bikes it is...
      Cheers, Scott

      NothingToProve wow! I had no idea. I thought it would be a hit with your viewers. Anyway, thank you so much for your reply and keep up your great work. I just want to compliment you one more time on the quality of the sound of your videos. For someone who shoots outdoors, you have a lot to teach these big publications who transitioned to UA-cam. Cheers!

    Great review. As allways.
    Agree with you with the weigth. But let me share with you one doubt. Weigth do not help at lower speeds but does it help at medium and high speeds by giving more stability ?

    • @NothingToProve
      @NothingToProve  5 років тому

      Hi Javier, thank you.
      Adventure bikes are not made for speed, they are made to do both on and off-road. Some lean towards on road touring and some lean towards off-road, this bike's focus (a KTM) is off-road and that is where being light weight is very important.
      Thanks for watching! Scott

    I enjoyed the review. Although they are different bikes the BMW R 1250 R and the KTM 790 Adventure bike which one do you think is a good all rounder and everyday bike. I saw your review on it. You think the BMW is a good bike for everyday also?

    • @NothingToProve
      @NothingToProve  5 років тому +1

      Thanks Paul. Yes the 1250 R is a good everyday bike. The refinement and stability is in a class by itself. So yes, I can see no problems with having the 1250 R as an everyday bike. AND the torque just pulls like a freight train, every where in the RPMs.
      Cheers, Scott

    Nice video as always! How do you compare with the 1290 SAS? Comfort and agility?
    I am 1.90m For 90% road use.
    Does the 21" bother/feel less agile in cornering/twisties?

    • @NothingToProve
      @NothingToProve  5 років тому +1

      Hi Rodrigo, thank you! Two very different bikes, the 790 is a lot lighter and you can feel it on the road and off. Cornering, I liked the 790 because it didn't feel like a 21" front, it felt more like a 19". I think I said something like that in the video...it's been a while so I don't remember exactly what I said. But I think they can both do about the same cornering speed. So no, no problem with the twisties with the 790. Your height, it might be better on the SAS, as the 790 fit me just perfect and I'm 1.76m tall.
      Ride safe, Scott

    Adventure or the r version? Is it worth the 1500 € premium? Is the adventure more road bias, and better in that way, or is the R just better in all aspects given that it has the fully adjustable sus?

    • @NothingToProve
      @NothingToProve  4 роки тому

      Actually, I like the ADV better than the R, in all aspects. The R is really focused on off-road and one really feels that when riding on or off-road.

      @prowler13prowler 4 роки тому

      @@NothingToProve thank you for the reply. Most of the other reviewers raved about the r being bettwr off road etc, but failed to compare them on the road propperly.

    • @NothingToProve
      @NothingToProve  4 роки тому

      Oh, don't get me wrong the R is a great bike but it has a single focus and I've spent very little time on the R but the time I did spend on it was so serious for off-road that I did not like it for anything else. That is why the ADV is better for the "normal" ADV guys that spend more time on-road. 50/50, I'd still take the ADV and not the R. Now when that number goes to more to like 75% off-road then I'd consider the R.

  • @zachmateer6531
    @zachmateer6531 3 роки тому

    • @NothingToProve
      @NothingToProve  3 роки тому +1

      Yea, purely street bike, then I'd take the XR over the 790 ADV. It's just so much more refined but something else you need to consider is the dealer support. If your dealer support is better for the KTM then go that way, if it's better for the BMW then go that way.

    Wow. Really Nice review. You nearly got me sold on the 790 Adventure...
    Is that the comfort gel seat ? (ergo)
    I gave it a test drive and the quickshifter was great, I also tested the Triumph Tiger 800 XTR and the quickshifer was harder to use. I personally found the KTM rather uncomfortable (more so than the Tracer 900, the V85TT and the Tiger 800). But the price is also better than most of the other options I am considering. I am having a really hard time to find a reason to buy something other than this.

    • @NothingToProve
      @NothingToProve  4 роки тому +1

      Thank you Jimmy,
      No, I think that is the stock seat, although it's been a while ago when I rode it, but the dealer that I got it from keep the demo bikes pretty much standard with not too many extras added on...so I think it was a stock seat when I did the video.
      Really it comes down to are you going to do any off-road and if so, then the 790 but if not then yea, you have a hard decision to make 🤔 & in that case let your heart decide.
      Good luck 😁
