- Hello lovelies, today I will be discussing Ava Gardner's favorite beauty products. Ava Gardner was born on December 24, 1922, and passed away on January 25, 1990. She was an American actress and singer. Gardner was signed to a contract with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer in 1941 and appeared mainly in small roles until she drew attention with her performance in The Killers (1946). She was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress for her work in Mogambo(1953) and also received BAFTA Award and Golden Globe Award nominations for other films. Gardner appeared in several high-profile films from the 1940s to 1970s. Gardner continued to act regularly until 1986, four years before her death in London in 1990, at the age of 67. She is listed 25th among the American Film Institute's 25 Greatest Female Stars of Classic Hollywood Cinema.

When Erno Lazlo was relaunch in the 80’s I bought the black soap and several other magical potions it was very expensive then as it is now!

My mother used to love Shalimar Perfume. You can still get it at Walmart. Y'all, I miss Max Factors. That was my favorite brand in the 90's.

My favorite Old Hollywood actress !!! You got pretty much most of that right. If you're curious her family has told me that JOY by Jean Patou was her favorite perfume. Also they said one of Ava's beauty secrets to her wonderful skin was she drank a LOT of water, took a pitcher with her bed each night. Also, would you consider doing a minseries on movies like Chicago, Cabaret, The Great Gatsby, etc. and seeing if they really do hold up to the vintage beauty and fashion standards of their time periods?

I think Guerlain make some of the best French perfumes, even their more modern ones are worth trying. They have some of the best 'noses' in the perfume world.🌺🌹❤️

Hi Laura! The bottle of parfum on Ava's vanity is not Shalimar. There is another Guerlain: Terracotta Voila d'Été - Eau de Toilette - no 25 Quand vient l'Été. In 2014, the maison made a new version, named just Terracotta. Very good perfume!

she also really liked a product called Tangee Orange which you can still buy today. It's a lipstick that's orange in the tube but has that color-changing pink dye in it like the Dior lip glow. It is actually a sheer pink color.

Woodbury sold a bath/complexion soap bar. I used to buy it from Woolworth's. It smelled heavenly. I could no longer buy it at some point during the 1970s.

Ava Gardner was perhaps the most beautiful woman in the History of Cinema. But she looked 40 when she was 30and at 40 she looked 50 . I liked her looks AFTER she abandoned Hollywood and her actress ambitions in 1954 ish. She made ho hum films to pay her bills and darkened her looks and looked very Latin.
