I am glad that I stumbled upon this video. This is a great list. More than half of the albums on your list would also be on my metal list for the first three months. I have been listening to rock/metal for over 5 decades (so metal since it began) and I still love discovering new bands. There is an album that would be very high on my list by a band, although not new (they formed 8 or 9 years ago), they released their first full album in January. The album is called The Oath and the band is Lord Mountain. If you don't know this band and have a little time, give them a listen.
Thank you so much for your comment! Means a lot! It's great to have feedback from someone who's been following this kind of music since its inception. I will definitely find a moment to hear that Lord Mountain album. Cheers! 👍
New subscriber. I like how you are breaking your tops picks into release months, I think that's a wonderful idea. Also enjoy the variety in selections. That ...And Oceans wins this release schedule for me. The way they incorporate riffs in songs like "The Collector and his Construct" but still use keys seamlessly, ie "Cloud Heads", is impressive.
Thank you so much for saying that and for subscribing! I really appreciate it! And Oceans' release was amazing indeed with that mix of keys into melo Black metal instrumentation. I love every track on it and the magnum opus of the album for me is "Earth Canvas ". 🤘
Thank you so much for commenting and subscribing! Indeed you can expect to see a lot of prog and power metal recommendations through this channel in future content. 😀
Hey, thank you very much for saying that! My favorite genres tend to be progressive metal, power metal and melodic death. But I listen to many albums from other genres as well😀
Definitely some stuff on here that I'm gonna check out! I recommend that you give Storming the Walls by Triumpher a listen. Killer Trad/PM with some more extreme influences thrown in at times. One of my favorites from this year.
Thank you very much for your comment and recommendation! That Triumpher album sounds like a blast! I unfortunately missed it because march was a month overloaded with anticipated albums. I'll give it a proper listen when I've got the time. Cheers!
Judgement Day - Lovebites - My favorite. Haven't heard guitarwork and drumming this good before - all in one band.
Lovebites is a brilliant one indeed! Their musicianship totally slays. Glad you enjoyed it too.🤘

Nice list, I subscribed. Not enough metal channels that give power metal or prog metal a fair shake.
