Cold-Blooded Angels Cold-blooded angels in blankets of ash Alone in the southern pass There's a place in the garden Where nothing will grow But I could stay forever Where I lay every night on a forest floor Asleep with both eyes open 'Cause I need that bitter hand It struck me blind To keep my eyes from closing Pale as a rose, all the shadow it throws Over earth and sky If the rocks in my pocket Were cinder in stone I'd owe it all to nothing Wasted years on an empty road Where flies buzz around my head Now I miss the bitter hand That cut me down All the way to nothing Wasted years on an empty road Where flies buzz around my head If the dust in my pocket Were silver or gold I'd spend it all on nothing There's something waiting at the door I hear it breathing Follow even though I'm sure I should be leaving There's something waiting at the door I see it bleeding Every time I ask for more I can't believe it All I knew was hanging 'round the door I'm not sleeping anymore 'Cause I remember every single word Every little thing I can't forget Cold-blooded angels Stop staring at the sky We all pay a terrible price When we learn to fly And if I could forget you Oh, how hard I tried Please, somebody tell me How the hell did I survive?
Beautifully made. Written with a quill dipped in tears... Memories of dark highways contrasted by bright pinks and oranges of desert mesas and cliffs. I wander no more.
The forlorn empty sounding recording and or thin production is what drew me into Baroness in the first place. It somehow adds to the atmosphere I think they're trying to create. I get this distant yet familiar and somehow unattainable feeling of hope and sadness.
Exactly! It's the way Baroness is. And perfectly supplements their vision on music! They don't need 'perfect' production like most of the other bands! 🤘
@@Weedeater58 I bought the vinyl 2LP blind on the day the album came out, only having listened to Purple (which really had me hooked) and a few hits from previous albums. I was really impressed by the music, but also the unexpected booklet of lyrics and art! This album made me a huge Baroness fan.
Porra, irmão, nem fala...nem fala...Mas acho que eles voltam pra cá assim que liberarem shows por aqui. Fiquei sabendo que eles amaram a receptividade apaixonada do pessoal. E dessa vez, brother, estarei lá.
I'm torn on the production...At times the mix works, and the drums sound like they are out of a synthesizer, but it works...The bass is prevalent and I love being able to hear each stroke. I think I miss the sound of the double guitars in parts, and there is a distortion on each instrument that seems to add static at times. But it works
Thanks for sharing the new album! Disappointed to discover you're only playing as support of Volbeat in Germany tho... Tickets for Hamburg are priced at 82 euros for the center area at the stage. Not a clever decision in my opinion :(
It's good for them to get some bigger exposure maybe. I wonder if they will gear the setlist more to that crowd? I can't see them playing Red and Blue songs on that tour.
Simon K Yes, I'd also like to see Baroness live in Germany but as Samwais Skullbreaker said before: I also don't want to pay for Volbeat. They should be support for Baroness, but that's only my opinion!
from "I wish I was airborn" to " We all pay a terrible price when we learn to fly" real quick
I see what you did there, you sneaky little thing ;)
Cold-Blooded Angels
Cold-blooded angels in blankets of ash
Alone in the southern pass
There's a place in the garden
Where nothing will grow
But I could stay forever
Where I lay every night on a forest floor
Asleep with both eyes open
'Cause I need that bitter hand
It struck me blind
To keep my eyes from closing
Pale as a rose, all the shadow it throws
Over earth and sky
If the rocks in my pocket
Were cinder in stone
I'd owe it all to nothing
Wasted years on an empty road
Where flies buzz around my head
Now I miss the bitter hand
That cut me down
All the way to nothing
Wasted years on an empty road
Where flies buzz around my head
If the dust in my pocket
Were silver or gold
I'd spend it all on nothing
There's something waiting at the door
I hear it breathing
Follow even though I'm sure
I should be leaving
There's something waiting at the door
I see it bleeding
Every time I ask for more
I can't believe it
All I knew was hanging 'round the door
I'm not sleeping anymore
'Cause I remember every single word
Every little thing I can't forget
Cold-blooded angels
Stop staring at the sky
We all pay a terrible price
When we learn to fly
And if I could forget you
Oh, how hard I tried
Please, somebody tell me
How the hell did I survive?
This song feels like I've already heard it long ago, in a good way. Like I instantly got it.
It might be stupid, but first half of song reminds me...Sting :D especially "Shape of my heart"
@@Rafa-db1vl I can see that!
ABSOLUTELY
69th Like 😄 Could be a distant memory dragged up from the Subconscious, or an Echo of a past life. Glad you likey regardless...
Gina's backing vocals are really good on this one
is John's daughter the first and a half minute
caruso didn’t think it sounded like Gina haha
This is one of their greatest songs. I love everything about it.
Beautifully made. Written with a quill dipped in tears... Memories of dark highways contrasted by bright pinks and oranges of desert mesas and cliffs. I wander no more.
My favorite song in this album so far. So atmospheric.
This one snuck up on me, but has fast become my favorite track off the album.
I can't believe it
All I need was hangin round the door
I'm not sleeping anymore
cause I remember every single word
Every little thing I can't forget
Achingly beautiful
Achingly beautiful is a song from cradle of filth
this album is kicking my ass. So glad i pre-ordered the vinyl.
Didn't liked it when the album dropped and constantly skipped it. Dug it only in mental hospital last autumn, beautiful thing

@@NathanSidF finally got my vinyl copy. I think it sounds great. The bass player really shines for me so far. But who kmows I'm just a fan of music.
@@Weedeater58 I'm still considering buying it on vinyl. Mostly for the art of John and Marald 😍
@@NathanSidF that alone is worth it, so beautiful. Comes with big lyric book with more artwork. Plus it sounds really good.

At 3:27 the guitar tone reminded me of Billy talent. Love it!!!

One of my favourite songs on this album
From “there’s something waiting at the door” on this song broke my heart

I can't believe that I'll miss you concert in Brazil (because São Paulo is quite far). T.T

Baroness SUPPORTING Volbeat... urrrgh, no justice in this world!! I feel your collective pains.
Christian rock has come a long way from Stryper.
Anyone else hearing some Katatonia in this song?
Totally!!
I hear it too. Helps because I learned both songs the same day
Is this song about overcoming a meth addiction?
Love Baroness, first btw.
