I bought the tab book and it only solidified my opinion that Thomas is from a different planet. He's not just absurdly proficient, he's insanely creative
I kind of look back at the late 90's - early 2000's punk (and related genre offshoots) I used to listen to through the lens of cynicism and even some embarrassment but this band's talent can't be denied
Depends on what bands or scene you listened to, like the late 90’s mathcore Stuff was pretty awesome even though it became a little stale after awhile and early metalcore like killswitch and as I lay dying are pretty awesome and then now with bands like Knocked Loose and Jesus Piece it’s going through a bit of a revival.
I just look back at it with a bit of embarrassment for how dumb and arrogant I was as a teenager, but other than that I mostly feel a sense of nostalgia for my high school days and how simple things were back then relative to now.
@@mason3872 knocked loose has NO math in it lol, it's just straight hardcore. The bands carrying on this type of sound are really folks like Hail The Sun (Elephantitis EP sounds VERY TFOT-like).
