Hey Ralfi! I'm no specialist, but Blue Flag was my go-to server when my stick wasnt broken... About the FARPS:You don't need to destroy the towers, the FARP goes "Neutral" when all units inside of it are killed, and then usually "Defenders" spawn, to capture the base for your team those defenders also have to die (unless the base was alredy yours and the other team neutralized it, then you can just recap)
I recommend using their gadget through the Browser to check the status on the bases and have a better idea of what's going on in the mission
Edit: Yep! You should check the gadget to know which bases are yours XD

Haha I got into DCS to fly the A-10 and ended up falling in love with the Su-25/25t. That squat little Russian scrapper is an absolute beast for CAS and SEAD. So cool to see the Russians using both those planes (su-25ub/TM/SM, the T variant was actually more of a proof-of-concept for later variants) in Syria right now. You can find some amazing footage of their operations in 2019/2020, makes for awesome material to design missions around lol
@@flighttherapybullisticfpv133 Sadly, Su-25 in DCS is an early model, lacking proper HUD and such. But yes, it's a hell of a plane to play, along with A-10. And the biggest bonus is it's in human language -- meters, kilometers, meters per second, kilograms, etc. Also, its ordinance is also very easy to discern by type and caliber!
@@ShadeAKAhayate The Su-25T in the game is very similar to TM and SM variants in service today. I think the schkval display is on the left side in the TM/SM models, but other than that its very similar. I prefer to fly the 25T simply because it has the ability to use precision weapons, but the su25 can be super fun too, especially flying with friends

Makes you wish there was a fully fleshed out A-10A module.
I mean, i love the "C" to bits, but i can't get my self to commit 60% of my lousy brain to deal with any simulation that goes beyond "that clockmaker's shoppe". The maximum i can tolerate is a crappy CRT on the right hand side of the cockpit.
A clickable A-10A with binoculars would be the most 1980s CAS and tank busting experience possible.
Ralfy as usual amazing with the Gun and the Bombs in the A10, those double targets were really impressive!

Absolutely killer run. This looks super fun, I can't wait until I have the flying skills to actually play on this server.
Gonna have to re-watch this one a few times to see if I can pick up some techniques for improving gun runs. I'm always till having trouble getting quickly on target, especially in a live-fire situation.

BTW, can you do similar videos for general overview on other planes the way you have done for A10C? The way you explain and make things make sense is the best teaching ever? The systems and why explanations really make the difference.
I have to agree with you man, not matter how much fun I can have with the supersonic fighters, I always find myself back in the A-10C just because it blows shit up and it does it really well.
That was awesome! I'd definitely recommend trying the hoggit Syria at War (SAW) server when you have a chance, it's an 80's themed server on the Syria map that's built for that kind of flying you were doing, but uses a mission system to request/join missions. It's still in Alpha and being updated/added to all the time but is very different to the other 'at war' servers and would definitely be your kind of thing!

OMG! been flying the A-10C since Xmas and not even close to being as cool as you in it... I'm always in a frantic to get my weapons ready before I get to target and by the time I do I have passed and have to turn around.... LOL

Never, ever, go over ou even close to the FARPS. Most of units are IR units like Chaparral and Avengers. They will shoot you down easily. Your first run I saw that you were too close... way before than even locking your first target.... and I was right... you got shot right after lol But nice that you made it back to the base in one piece! Your gun runs on the second sortie were SICK!! Amazing job!!! Nice video bud! Great work!! I fly a lot on Blueflag's Persian Golf Modern. The server is just the best! Ahh, also try to use SRS and be in touch with your team!! It's hard to fly on your own (at least in Blueglag's Persian Gulf Modern). Keep these awesome videos coming!!! =)

Admittedly I keep mulling over the idea of picking up the A-10C but after my experience with the A-10A I just don't think it's my pace, I much prefer the Harrier for CAS but it's a shame it's the AV-8BN and not one of the 80's British variant (ok, I'm slightly biased). Excellent video and excellent footage Ralfi.
My search for a Cold War CAS aircraft continues.

Man I really wish they would release an official update for the A-10A with NVG's... I got into DCS to fly the A-10C, and 3 years later I havent even bought the module. I love flying the A-10A in VR but it is almost impossible at night and I would love to fly night ops in the gulf.... this game awakened a childhood passion for aviation and integrated systems tech that I had put aside because... you know, life happens.. and I ended up buying just about everything BUT the A-10C lol

One question though. This is supposed to be Syria during the 1980's right? Okay, two questions... wouldn't flying the A-10A make more sense? I don't know the A-10's in DCS, so maybe there's a good reason for choosing the C.
An overzealous A-10 pilot did a gun run on my friends in Ma Sum Ghar in '06/07 (Afghanistan).... fast forward to '08 when I'm there and the same place is my home for 7 months. What a world.
Awesome video content. I like the idea with the minimal loadout. DCS with the A-10C is my favourite aircraft simulation. One Question: Why is there a ,,X" inside of the CCIP reticle at 10:14 ? I have the problem too.
Oh, Kamov helicopters.. I saw 3 flying low yesterday or the day before. Was curious to check out their cruising speed by matching it. Turned out it was a bit more than the 220 kph that my volvo 940 managed without pinging on shitty yet overpriced crimean gas.

1) I agree with your comment of "how did they do it before?" My eyes aren't good enough to look for targets without the TGP. Hell, you did a good job.
2) if you wanted to simulate going old school A-10, why not use the A-10a? I understand that the fidelity isn't the same and i know that not everyone owns that module but I figure you are that kind of dcs fan that has pretty much every module.
It's not as fun. The a10c without the tgp and no smart munitions is virtually identical to the a10a in every way, but I can still manipulate some things in the cockpit like I like it.
No matter what time line you are in, the 190th Fighter Squadron, Blues and Royals friendly fire incident still happens :(

Blue flags 80's is such a gem, also for a2a. No fox3 times 30 miles from a target you dont even see, more close range knife stabbing!
Check out the blue flag Cold War server on Persian gulf too, every fight you can more or less see what livery the other guys has

roll 180 to wings level with the gun still pointed at the target
drop the bombs or start firing the gun
try not to get target fixated or gun stimulated
pull out of the dive before they flew into the ground.

So, in the beginning of the video you asked how A-10 pilots spotted tgts with the ol’ mkI eyeball and later ended up facing a blue on blue situation. I think the sad reality is that situations like that often occurred more than we’d like to admit.

Ahh I don't know about the Syria map, but the Persian Gulf Modern you don't need to destroy the towers and also you should first take out the outpost and surrounding vehicles, cause they repair the Farps and bases!

hello there! I have the A10C and the F/A-18 but I never played them since I got them about a year ago and havent found the time to play since. anyhow seeing as there is a huge learning curve I want to first learn one of them and only then the other, which one should I start with first? I absolutely love both planes and their play styles so idk which to choose.
Up to you, they are very different. But I have a whole tutorial series on the a10c.

If you want the true 70’s and 80’s A-10 experience (we can’t remove the MFD’s but oh well) is to turn off the MWS and use the backup sight 😊
