    If anyone is considering doing this to solve a clunking issue DO IT! My ls430 had a clunk. I replaced strut, LCA, ball joint, etc. Last thing I did was UCA and it fixed it! Wish I started with UCA, the bushing was completely torn.

      I describe mine as a ting its very noticeable over small imperfections on the road at low speed. It sounds like a rattle do you think that's the UCAs?

    How many miles is on the car? Mine has 120k, just curious as to when these parts typically need replacement. The only problem I notice with my car right now is too much body roll in speedy turns. Of course,I would never attempt replacing mine on my own. Good on you, you have a talent for diy.

      190k miles. Thanks for watching. As long as you have the right tools and knowledgeable friends in case you get stuck, it's easy!

    Always use 100% original OEM factory rubbers because the rubber is a special blend made for the characteristics of the car. Its even build up from seperate layers of different style of rubber. The engineers have spent extremely much thought in the LS430. If you buy non original you mess up the ride quality and because this is one of the most comfortable cars in the world you dont want to mess with it.

    • @apesintanks162
      @apesintanks162 3 роки тому +3

      Underrated comment. Lexus LS in particular has high quality rubber that gives this plush ride. OEM LCA bushings filled with liquid, aftermarket is made of used tires probably.
      If ride quality is important dont buy cheap parts. They fail very quickly and dont usually match quality. Learned it the hard way.

    You need to preload the control arms before you torque them up , otherwise they will wear prematurely. You have the weight of the vehicle on them before you torque them down.

    Hi Travis, I have two questions for you. Is it ok to use aftermarket parts for this job? What do you think about getting used OEM Lexus parts and replacing the bushings?

    • @TravisPavlik
      @TravisPavlik  3 роки тому

      Those are up to you....if you are planning on keeping the vehicle I would go new OEM....they are significantly more $$$. I would not go used OEM personally...unless you knew super low mileage.

    Hey im having the samw issue as in my 2002 ls430 until next smooth would float and absorb potholes like butter (absorb shock) but like until a week ago it stopped swallowing the bumps and just makes a hitting noise whenever i go over potholes... what could it be???

      I had that problem with my '97 LS400. It was the front strut rod bushings. It hasn't happened to my '05 LS430 yet. *crosses fingers*

    • @jeroenlouwers5226
      @jeroenlouwers5226 4 роки тому

      Could be your caster bushings. Hydraulic fluid leaks out and then they become noisy. Very common for the LS430.

  • @Eggroll420

    By any chance did you experience any clunking nosies from the driver side going over bumps and pot holes or rough roads, I’m on the hunt to find that noise thank you

    With such a beautiful car, I’d go with OE. I’ve used those aftermarket control arms to only end up replacing them within a year. The quality is just not there, not to mention the safety of poor workmanship.

    Great video with one exception, lose the music bro. Took away from the information, took away from the presentation, took away from your lame jokes (lame jokes are great, this isn't an insult) and took away from your personality drawing the viewer to like your content. Made me want to dig my inner ear drum out with a splintery wooden spoon. It was like elevator and doctors office music had a baby, then it dedicated it's entire existence as an abomination against God to talk over everything and everyone it came across in order to drive the entire Earth's population to the edge of their own sanity.
