      Yeah, lots of safety features, this is made in Russia so they ride on snowy slippery roads and you can set maximum acceleration I think RPM increase per second. It works out like traction control so if the controller detects that it’s accelerating too fast it will limit torque/current. was that with a completely stock sur-on battery?

    • @BrunoPOWEEER
      @BrunoPOWEEER  4 роки тому +5

      Yes, it’s the stock Surron battery BUT this one I modified bypassing the BMS. The Surron BMS can only handle 92.5A continuously and bypassing can nicely handle 110A discharge. Can do a bit more but then it will start sagging and getting too warm and shorten pack life. Charging still connected to the BMS so all safety still there. There is also the Surron circuit breaker protecting the discharge side from any crazy short. Controller needs to be set to proper Low voltage cut off since the BMS is not able to cut power anymore.

    What's better, the nuclear controller or bac 8000?

    • @BrunoPOWEEER
      @BrunoPOWEEER  4 роки тому +4

      For Surron, you can’t really make a full use of the BAC8000 (even if you want) so BAC4000 is more realistic and that is the same power as the Nucular. Put this way, lots of Nucular users have an ASI and switched to Nucular for many reasons, amazing display and super easy user interface, smaller, black, easier to mount to any bike/moto, true plug and play solution from manufacturer comes with Surron connectors ready to go, technical support is flawless they have a group chat on Telegram App, you drop your question and nearly instantly someone will be replying to you, often Vasiliy the Nucular engineer. This is something you don’t get from other brands. Also because Vasiliy has this close relationship with his customers he’s constantly improving the software, hardware etc. It’s about 3 months wait to get your controller but every Nucular user I know says it’s totally worth and often they go back and buy one or few controllers to convert all their other bikes to Nucular too. This is not even my opinion this is what I see happening out there =]

      Don’t worry about motor now... the next bottleneck is the battery, believe me this is the biggest bottleneck after controller upgrade, people are pumping ~17kW or more into this Surron motor... the controller is monitoring the motor temperature so if it gets too hot will reduce power until motor cools a bit.

They already have a feature that transforms the controller into a “charger” like you feed a 2000w 48v PSU power supply and it spits out regulated voltage like “regen” to your 72v battery... just like Adaptto used to do as well but this is better more modern version.

      @BrunoPOWEEER  4 роки тому +1

      The motor can actually handle a lot of POWEEEEERR, once you upgrade the controller you only get about 15-20% improvement as you can’t really unleash the full potential, the next bottleneck is the battery. Surron BMS will cut anything over 92.5A continuous, if you bypass the BMS tapping directly to the cells you can use the Surron battery at ~100A, that + Nucular controller will give u about 30% improvement. That number doesn’t sound so big but this is a lightweight motorcycle so it does make a massive difference in acceleration and much greater top speed! Nucular controller is monitoring the motor temperature. If goes too hot it will reduce power until motor cools a bit.

    i want to run 184s 24ah 50c (772.8v) through a 273 40h hubmotor on a 17inch wheel for a bicycle
    i am looking at these;
    www.elmofo.com.au/ac-motor-controllers.html
    i will be buying a yasa400r motor in the future for a mid drive bicycle also and want to use a little higher voltage closer to 800v
    i will be using the batrium watchmon4 bms and 1000amp shunt with the longmons i brought from you previously,
    i have a question in regards to 400Arms;
    im a kelly man, so my understanding is the Arms is on the motor side and not on the battery side and that it is roughly 70% of the sinewave motion,
    so 1.25X more would be the peak phase current of the sinewave curve so that would be 500amps phase peak? or is that 500amps phase continuous?
    or is this the continuous DC rating and i could see alot more at takeoff?
    i know kelly controllers are rated in continuous amps and peak (1min or 10seconds, whatever it takes for the controller to hit thermal overload),
    i just need an understanding, as i will need to rewind the 273 40h (i'll be grinding out the winding slots for more copper mass like always) and need to NOT blow up the tiny motor at highspeed,
    its going on a custom carbon fiber bmx with 17inch Excel rims, 9g spokes and motorcycle street tires 184s 24ah (4x48s 24ah packs on the frame) controller on the side of the long rear tail

      Yeah the bike is awesome but mild performance... too conservative. This bike on the video I’ve fitted the Nucular for my mate, just that alone was about 15% improvement but then BMS was limiting the potential. Did a BMS bypass and increased the amps... it’s about 35% more responsive, we are talking about a lightweight bike so that 35% makes a massive difference. At the traffic lights in town in a 60kmh zone if you don’t pay attention you look the speedo and you’re doing 84kmh and need to back off...
