  • Settings in this run were pretty high but not maxed out. Stock X controller max speed was 38mph (61.15kph). With the Nucular 24F controller I topped out at 50mph (80.46kph). This comes out to be a 24% increase on top speed!

    Thanks for vid, I have option to buy 2nd hand nucular and was gonna ask if it's good... Smoother than ko? Easy install? Or should I save up for a ebmx ? Tough choices these days...

    What wheels are those? I saw your dual sport video but those are supermoto tires which I'm trying to find myself right now on the stock 19inch size which I know is tough to do

      Have you tried a moto shop? I saw some at my local. But I’m going to try the dual purpose as I know the weight of moto tires is nearly double!

    Is your gearing still stock? I typically reach 71 km/h with the x controller. Also switching to NUC with stock pack this week. New pack won't arrive until September/October.

      Still stock gearing. I do have the supermoto setup on it with the 32t sprocket, but since the wheels are 17" it equals out to be the same gearing as the stock.

    Of course it’s identical because of the bms

  • @johnnyzee383

    Top speed with my Surron and battery bypass was between 65 and 72 KPH. The load side of the BMS is disconnected and then I properly made three connections with thicker gauge wire on the neg side. Funny thing is that it allows a little more current but still has some control of the discharge side as the positive side of the battery goes through the BMS as well, where normally on a BMS the + side is bypassed. Proof of this is to try running the bike without the 4 pin connector..it will limit the bike to 50 amps. Im getting about 83 amp draw as confirmed by the cycle analyst. I also have made a 60 volt battery pack extender which I will be posting this week. Range went from 50 kms max to around 80 which is great.

    By the way with your controller if it has field weakening you likely would get similar speed and much more torque with a high tooth count sproket I know it sounds weird I didn't believe it myself either but I'm running a asi controller and that's what I'm.finding with the field weakening increasing the rpms it actually goes just as fast with a higher gearing tooth count vs a lower tooth count the difference is the motor spins at much higher rpms and has way more torque on the low end. But my top speed remains the same which is weird. The stock controllers that don't have field weakening didn't do this only the ASI did it.

    • @SpreadingKnowledgeVlogs
      @SpreadingKnowledgeVlogs 2 роки тому

      Just try a higher tooth sprocket if your controller has field weakening you will be surprised

    • @DirkWinterLetsRide

      I just read you comment and I get how it is confusing as if you change the sprockets on a bmx or moto the speed is affected. But with electric you can increase the torque and speed??? This is crazy, I love it!

      I've watched a bunch of the sprocket speed and range tests. And Aaron is right. Try the 58T. Should see big gains. Also, I'm really curious if changing the settings in the controller affects range. I need to be able to hit 50 mph to ride safely home on one short stretch of road. But I also don't want to run out of battery and have to walk it back.

    My sur ron x at 100% battery and stock controller and stock battery can do 47mph. It IS only 1 month old though. Maybe it slows down after time? Im lookin at the sintech controller from suronshop whixh they say is basically the same as the nuclear. Id like to hope it could do more than 50mph for 1200$

    • @donsurron76
      @donsurron76 2 роки тому +1

      Do you have the green wire cut?
      If a surron goes faster then 47mph
      Then the green wired is cut

    • @peterpoop
      @peterpoop 2 роки тому

      @@donsurron76 ya i do. But after further riding.....at 100% battery it would do around 47-48mph. Nothing crazy

  • @kevinalmeida7159
    @kevinalmeida7159 2 роки тому

    why would you put a sprocket any smaller than 48? do a 48 or any size smaller you get same speed if you do a larger sprocket it goes slower. you have to reprogram the controller for top end on smaller sprocket but the problem is torque balance the motor has a max load when you remove to much torque to try for speed it is lost hysteresis and off phasing.
    i have not done the math but i think the motors lowest tooth count to trade max torque for speed is 42 tooth. anything smaller has diminishing returns. if you can add 1 or 2 teeth on primary gear and leave rear at 48 you can gain almost 12 MPH without a reprogram

  • @MotoAlias

    If you didnt bypass your bms then your new controller really doesn't do anything. Your battery is only allowing so many amps to be discharged. You can bypass the discharge only and still charge through your bms... that way when your new controller wants more amps it gets more amps.

    • @flyingfox8586
      @flyingfox8586 3 роки тому +2

      And that seems to be incorrect, as clearly demonstrated in this and his other videos. Higher phase amps alone will lead to better acceleration from start, without requiring more battery amps. Then he has increased his top speed in addition. Of course, a bypassed pack or stock pack with range extender or 72V will unlock the true potential.

    • @Ray-kj5hu
      @Ray-kj5hu 3 роки тому +1

      Field weakening gives it more top speed and more phase amps (as mentioned) will make it accelerate faster without bypassing the BMS
