Speed recognition setup:
In the section devices - Thermo Nucular controller - extra parameters - speed calculation do the following:
Step 1
Measure your rear wheel length and divide by 2.217.
The number you get must be dialed in for circumference.
Example: on 19inch SurRon wheels circumference is 1900mm / 2,217 = 857mm.
Step 2
In the parameter motor sprocket please dial in 14
Step 3
In the parameter wheel sprocket you need to enter the size of your rear sprocket (48 and 58 sprockets are typically installed on the SurRon from factory)
Now the display will show correct speed on SurRon light bee!

@SurRonshop brother, my keybinds are set up right. All the CAN buttons have a match, but for some reason it is stuck in reverse??? What do i do?

Thank you for the video ! ... so i would like to know if it is possible to set up EP/SPORT button and keep it fonctionnal ? i mean select mode1 and mode 2 directly with this button ? thank for your response
Thank you for feedback! Sport EP switch will work automatically for mode 1 and 2 selection, no additional setup is needed
15600:200 means 78v needed.
since its a 60v battery with a 5v drop on 200A you have only on a fresh battery 200A x 62v = ~12KW max.
Good question! The reason why I recommend such setup is because we found out controller can pull more amps than you limit it to for short amount of time in case you have increased power setting. Our EMAX battery is rated 260amps for short bursts, therefore it works best with these settings
Great video, easy to follow setup worked perfectly👍 You say on mode 3 you can go a little hogher,... How much higher? I have the emax battery and i thought it was rated at 300ah discharge? I only use my Sur-Ron on MX tracks so never have the throttle wide open for long periods of time... What settings can you recommend or have you tried for short off road tracks.
Good day dear Andrew, thank you so much! Yes, you can do 260 battery amps with EMAX battery which will give you short peaks at 300amps. For offroad going above 165-180amps will result in overheat I suggest you to stay under 10kw power and if you do not struggle with motor heating try to increase that.

@@SurRonshop Thanks for the advice 👍 I've been running 200a and 15kW and not having any overheating issues so I might try and bump it up to 260a and 18kW... What do you think? What should I set the temp cut off at to be extra safe?
@@andrewbetts2364 sure feel free to try more more power and don’t forget to adjust your settings in battery section as well. Set your motor temp max at 100 degrees Celsius in motor settings tab. Enjoy your setup 😉

Thank you very much! For stock bypassed battery set this:
Battery section:
Supply max = 67.19v
Supply min = 48v
Discharge max = 120 amps
Power max = 7000w
Control modes:
phase 2 = 500 (decrease this parameter if throttle sensitivity is too high)
Battery 2 = 120
Power 2 = 7000w (7kw)
Speed 2 = 102%

Thanks for the useful video, you mentioned about max motor temp , it should not increase 90C. So we have to put in motor t sensor menu 90 C max and how much should be delta? Do we need to set the controller warning temp as well somewhere or it's protected automatically?
Always welcome Tom! Thank you for your kind words 😊 we do not recommend running motor at a higher than 90-100 degrees (Celsius). You can put in a higher value if you are confident. Delta °t - the temperature value that is deducted from the maximum temperature (°t max), the resulting temperature value will be the beginning of the power limit, in degrees Celsius (°C). You can leave this value as it is from factory. Controller will fully cutoff power at the limit value.

Will this controller work with a 7 pole modified motor, or only the stock 6 pole motors
It will work and you can set pole pairs manually 😉

Hello dear friend and thank you for your request to SurRonshop! You will have better power with nucular but your motor is less powerful than the motor of x260 therefore you will not be able to use full power capability. Feel free to ask any questions, I’ll be glad to reply them all!

What would i input for the motor spocket if i have a chain conversion? Its a 13t to 30 tooth and both were way too low of a speed reading.
Hello Nickolai! Please increase circumference parameter for higher speed reading and adjust speed reading manually comparing to gps in this case. Sorry for inconvenience, we will request nucular team to work on better solution in the next firmwares.

Would those settings still be the same now, but with a 72V50AH aftermarket battery? What would be a solid setting for that? 10 second max amp is 400, I believe... Thank you for the video!

@@SurRonshop I don't own a Surron yet... Technically, I've never even seen one "live" yet... But I'll likely buy one with this controller TODAY. That's why I asked the question... I want to be able to judge the setup when I see it... If I had the controller already, I could just try it out myself... All I need to know is, what the strongest safe setting is for the mentioned battery... I only learned of the existance of a "Surron" or a stock Light Bee 3 days ago, so I'm learning as fast as I can!

A well-capable 72v battery can handle 200+ battery amps discharge current , 500 phase current, 15kw power in control modes. Also check battery section in control modes should have 200 discharge max and 15kw power (or 15000w)
So I love this installation however... with the Kit you sent me it does not have a place to mount to the bike. You don't show how you install the kit onto the bike in the video. The two major screws that attach near the horn device on the bike there is no holes there. Are we supposed to drill our own holes into the bike>?

@@SurRonshop I just wanted your opinion , i am a hardware guy so .... i am a VESC fan ! In my opinion if you can tune it ( and understand what you are doing ) all controllers work fine in the end ;)

Just received my 24F this past week so I am assuming it has the latest firmware installed. Having an issue loading "SWITCH" function for my key. When I bring up the screen I get an arrow beside switch (
I think you forgot to press green button to confirm chosen “switch” option. If you change parameter and go back without pressing confirmation button (far right) it will return default data
@@SurRonshop When I press green button on far right to confirm the entire screen shuts off and I have to reboot using the breaker for the battery.
@@SurRonshop Same thing happens when I try to load "auto brightness" for the screen. Won't allow me to do so and get the small arrow beside "On"

phase (1,2 or 3 depending on which mode you want to be fastest) = 500 (decrease this parameter if throttle sensitivity is too high)
Battery = 260a
Power = 16000w (16kw)
Speed = 102%
Field weakening: 150amps

Hey, is it bad to ride the sur ron without a SIM card installed?

@@SurRonshop on my display, the bottom left power gauge is not showing power. Have any idea what the issue could be? Also when I ride for an hour, the bike starts to glitch and stop riding on and off and it gets worse and worse.

Please add an opportunity to lock the setup menu with a password. We need this here in the restricted areas. A lot of guys are asking for that solution.
There is an opportunity to lock the controller itself with a password not the certain menu, hope this will work for you my friend. I will pass your request to developers though
