A long walk out In a weather window with looming grey skies. 50mph+ winds and huge hailstones batter our camp at 910m as we keep safe in my Fjallraven Abisko Lite 2 tent wrapped in down. A tough but enjoyable night In the great outdoors.

i think it is because camping is good for dogs. gets them back into nature where they spent the vast majority of their evolutionary lives. haha. like for us really.
EDIT: For Blue, it is like a big long walk... with a nice shelter for a break in the middle. haha. Well I suppose that is exactly what it is, but... he is in his element... is what I am saying.
There's something about being warm and cozy in your sleeping bag when outside of the tent is the worst weather. ⛈😊

I've watched this for like 9 nanoseconds. The love you have for your dog, impenetrable.
I remember one camping trip with my dad in the 70s when I was 10.
He pitched on a cliff top in glorious weather in Devon on the way down to Cornwall. We had one of the larger family frame tents .
The weather changed in the night and I woke up to a howling wind, torrential rain - and my dad running round outside knocking pegs back in, then running back in and wiping the water running off the frame before running outside again to check the stability of the tent.
Such was the trust I had in my dad, I went back to sleep unconcerned, lol.
Now, watching the conditions you are often camping in, my stomach is churning!

It is inspiring to see you in such harsh conditions with a smile on your face and Blue with not a care in the world! This past summer I got caught in a huge torrential storm with high winds and I cried, lol. I was scared of the trees falling on me and I couldn't see a thing bc my tent is a fortress with a big rainfly and vestibule. I got through it and next storm will be better. We live and learn. Good on you guys for really sticking it out in some tough yet thrilling conditions.

That tent is fantastic in the wind. Even at the wind's full force you could see your breath on camera and your breath was stationary. There was no air shifting through the tent at all. Thus, it was taking the full brunt of the wind and inside although chaotic and shaking, there was no breeze passing through. Nice.

I was curious what weight does your pack come out to? When we used to go out in the field in Antarctica the lightest we could get our pack with the compulsory survival items that we had to have was about 18 kg.
This was about 18kg but I try to stay under 15😬👊

You didn’t need a fork or spoon as you’ve found, those corn chips make incredible eating utensils. I’ve had Fritos called scoops and they worked the treat too. The card was brilliant. If it works, it’s not such a mental idea 💡! Now is it!👍🏻

Great job taking the second pole set - that tent looked bomb proof despite the flapping. No flapping from Blue though - he chilled all the way through it.

Just think if you get matched on a dating site. Both like adventures and travel & you both love camping!. They commented how good the showers & on site shop were last time they went camping. You take them out. Presume the odds would be more then winning the lottery for a second date! LOL.
In army jungle training we were taught to make chopsticks from sticks we got from trees. One bigger stick is great for stirring. Of course, I don't suppose you want to leave the tent to gather sticks.

Forgot the spoon! Yes! Made me laugh as I remembered my own items left behind time to time.
Spoon, lighter, tent poles, meds, camera connect app not updated, toothbrush, coffee filters and the list keeps going on and on.
I forgot my spoon on a 7 day camp. Just recently I forgot to fuel my snowmobile or bring extra fuel.
I guess the excitement and hubris hits us all.
Great way to adapt to the error using the card and chips.

I was just giving my mammut boots a dubbing.to head out on a camping trip,when I noticed the heel on one of the boots was coming loose.super glued it down.but decided to get a pair of the Columbian Omni heat infinity boots.so my trips delayed until new boots arrive,it’s all good 👍🔥.
They definitely seem a good winter boot. I’m going to test them properly soon😬
No spare tent peg to use to stir with? Having done this myself, I simple bought a couple of spare long handles titanium spoons and I keep one with each rucksack. I also always carry a minimum of four extra tent pegs which increase to eight extra when I carry my delta pegs.
I always carry a long spoon and a spork but it doesn’t help when they are in the same bag😂
Something about you being out in the freezing cold and harsh conditions trying to keep warm whilst I’m tucked up in bed with a hot cuppa just make me feel so good 😂😂

As much as I like your clips what would the mountain rescue say if you got into trouble I myself like the outdoors but knowing the forecast wouldn't go out in these conditions in Scotland
