    HELP...I just bought a 2022 ruckus, I've installed this TVR kit and have also upgraded the exhaust to the hot-lap norimaki...it turns on runs like normal but when i ride it for a few miles there is a strong fuel smell and it bogs down and dies when i come to a complete stop. I have tried moving the stack in and out but to know avail. I would greatly appreciate any tips you guys may have. Thanks in advance!!

    Doesn't having the bend in the intake track take away any benefits of having the velocity stack? I'd like to see a straight runner with the stack and see how it does with the curved one.

      @Theruckshop  Рік тому

      You need the bend. It slows down the air flow as well as keeps debris from rear tire going directly in the stack. Lots who have put the stack straight run into random lean spurts with the bike where it will cut out at hit 15+ on the afr.

    I recently bought this from you. Haven’t installed it yet. Any idea what Jets you would use for like 3,000 ft above sea level? I’m in the colorado area. I’m running the carbon fiber yoshimura pipe too.

    Just wondering do you guys have a set up anything like that for the GY6 150 I have a 26 mm carb with a large exhaust just wondering and maybe an idea on a main jet!!!

    • @Theruckshop
      @Theruckshop  4 роки тому

      gy6 dont need a stack and hose like the 49cc do. they can take the direct air due to the jets and carb size. id say 115 main jet and 32 or 35 idle.

    How often do you need to replace the breather filter that goes on the carb? Thanks, Matt

      Probably once a year if it looks dirty. It’s cheap assurance.

    This must really effect jetting,. I installed one, and couldn't even ride the thing, it idles, but much throttle at all and nothing! I guess if you get the jet close, fine tuning will be easier adjusting this thing! Any power/speed gains documented with this?
    The speed and lack of power of this thing is Killin me, I'm already at 81cc, with ported head, a9 cam, ported and matched intake, 20mm carb, and a decent exhaust! It seems like a stock 50cc to me, I even have the adjustable driven sheave, and went through slider weights, it doesn't want to rev past 8400under load, I had very light rollers and saw 9300, but as far as riding under a load, on the road, it doesn't have power to rev that high. I have been through 4carbs, jets needles, intakes, I even wondered if the can sprocket maybe be off slightly! I'm about to swap in a 150cc with kit! Or put a cbr 1000 engine on this thing! Haha

      Ask your spark plug if it’s running lean/rich.

    How well do you think this would do with a GP exhaust? I’ll probably find out anyway lol but your input has helped me a ton!

    • @Theruckshop
      @Theruckshop  3 роки тому +1

      you need an intake or airbox delete kit like the TVR or any of of other 2. 80 Main would work best normally

    Seems to be a big debate online if shim is needed or not

    • @Theruckshop
      @Theruckshop  4 роки тому

      that debate can happen all it wants haha, we tuned this on a dyno with a wideband. if they want to lean it out and remove the shim we are not responsible if the motor runs hot and lean pops.

    It will ruin your piston and cylinder wall over time with no air filter...It might work fine for a while but when you go to rebuild the motor you will see what i mean.

    • @Theruckshop
      @Theruckshop  5 років тому +4

      Scott Laws well we have a motor that has 60k with that TVR with no issues and no one rebuilds these motors they pretty much bullet proof and can be found for $200-$400 all day long

      @@Theruckshop I understand, my ruckus has around 68k miles. I just did my cylinder head on it 3 days ago due to spark plug thread failure(completely my fault). I bought a 2009 met head and ported and polished it. Thats why i want to rebuild and add goodies to this GET engine because i dont see alot of people working on them too much. The only reason i said anything about the air filter is because i been told by lots of mechanics that running no filter can result in bad wear internally. Ive seen other types of motors that were ran with no filter and they looked horrible after they were pulled apart. How does this motor differ from others? im looking for a good aftermarket system but am hesitant not to run a filter. Maybe you can advise? I also have pics of my rucks engine pulled apart....it was amazingly clean but i maintained it very well.....somehow had a burnt INTAKE valve dunno how that happened....exhaust usually burns up.
