- In this video we install the airbox eliminator kit type 2 from The Ruck Shop. This will work with the type 1 kit as well as TVR kit. We go over hose placement as well as new products to clean up the install.

Thank you so much man. Bought a used ruck and nothing was blocked off. No breather. Just vaccum hoses everywhere. Thos helped so much! Ill ve orderint parts from you in the future.
JIS (Japanese industrial Standard) screwdriver is the ideal screwdriver to use. Unlike Phillips head it is designed to work with all of the quad head screws on a Honda. It won’t strip a screw like a Phillips head does. The carb screws strip frequently when people use a Phillips, particularly with lower end Phillips screw drivers.
we agree but found one that works with us as you saw in the video. thank you
@@Theruckshop indeed, certain higher end Phillips head screwdrivers work well on these screws. Snap on brand driver for example works well.
@@Theruckshop I am a customer of TRS(tons of their parts on my ruckus), they make some great stuff. What screw driver is this? I have had problems with the carb screws, stripped, injured my thumb, major pain. Also these Air Delete Kits with the Automotive hoses always seem to either interfere with the suspension or tire, esp when you have an aftermarket cvt cover then the metal bracket won't fit right, compressing the hose or interfering with the tire when you delete the fenders. I am back to running a cone filter right off the carb with the trs cvt cover I just couldn't get the hose right and it was tweaking the carb sideways.
@@carlo1132 are you referring to the intake hose bracket that holds the hose to the cvt? if so that is bendable so you are supposed to adjust it for a smooth fit to the cvt. the filter directly to the carb will make that scooter run very lean.
Hey TRS you need to hire this spokesman he's the best!!! Great video
we will look into that.
@@Theruckshop is it working whit a 2022 honda ruckus?
If you replace the factory CVT with one of those plates that shows everything can you still use that bracket?
Finally ordered one. Anybody know what size tubing I would need for tubes that need to be cut?
I'd rather keep the airbox totally intact and ready to get swapped back in if needed. Basically just looking at what size inner diameter tubing I'd need to get to run those atmospheric hoses.
Hey i know its an old video but when doing the airbox kit WITH stock exhaust is it okay/best to not jet the carb until after you get the upgraded exhaust? Also do you bot need to oio the filter?
Can i put this my metropolitan scooter 49cc 2019?
Does this improve performance? A little more speed?
Is it a good idea to remove/block the par valve? Please correct me if wrong, but I believe its purpose is to allow gas that blows by the O ring into the crank case to evaporate, preventing oil dilution and maybe even release crank case pressure.
Yea we have been blocking them off for 14 years now without issue. Some of these engines have 15k miles on them and still running fine
Will this work on a 2002 Metropolitan 2?
So what about the hose for the clean air intake on the PCV solenoid there. I noticed you just left it disconnected and it's just sucking atmosphere in and dumping dirty air out to atmosphere. If I still have the solenoid connected won't that affect performance? Should I get a t bracket and use some of the hoses that I cut to install the breather filter so both clean, filtered air is going to both the PCV and the spot on the carb where you installed the breather filter?
You leave that open. It’s been left open like that since 2006. If you want to put a filter you can but it’s not needed.
Do you use gasket maker when you put on the aftermarket par valve plate?
You do not
Ok gripes are 1. No gasket for the par blocking plate. 2. Not enough hose clamps if you do the filter bracket.
It comes with two hose clamps which is all you need, the par valve doesn’t need a gasket. Haven’t ran one for 10 years plus of blocking it off.
@@Theruckshop our kit came with one clamp for the air box delete kit and no clamps for bracket kit. had to pick up a clamp at lowes to finish, with no gaskjet wouldnt you get leakage ?
Do you have to re jet the carb? If you don’t what’s the difference?
Yes. If you don’t it will run lean and blow the motor
What is the difference between the type 2 and the type one is it for different performance
The filter is the only difference. Type 2 can handle all weather conditions. Type 1 cannot.
+good video, but what do you gain by doing this?
pick up, mph
Bobby, does this work for the new Mets that are fuel injected?
this does not work for fi models unfortunately. sorry
@@Theruckshop is there anything for the fi models? Can’t seem to find much for performance on the new Mets. Thanks!
@@shanebrock3621 no there is not much at all for your model unfortunately.
I ordered this kit for my 02 met and didnt know it was FI..stupid me, I know. But I still installed the hose and filter with no problems. It made a nice difference too.
Can you bypass those coolant hoses to the carb?
Yes you need just a double ended brass fitting. So both hoses can link together.
i just put one on my ruckus and i didn't get much improvement its still the same speed but the only thing is that its louder, i heard a aftermarket exhaust would help gain power with the airbox delete. is that true what do i need to do to make it work
Did you rejet your carburator, and do you have a tachometer?
@@MisterBrightsiide yes i rejetted and shimed and no tachometer
This is correct. You are allowing more air and fuel but now bottlenecking it at the exhaust so it’s still very restrictive. Also if you put both the jets in for the airbox it will be too rich for a stock exhaust.
@@Theruckshop so what do i need
@@nikitak6101 you need exhaust
Can you run the stock exhaust with this or will it be too rich? Thanks
You can. Just run stock idle jet and then only use the 85 main jet provided
@@Theruckshop when running stock exhaust and keeping stock idle jet is it wise to install the shim for the needle? Will it have a negative affect being installed without testing for bogging issues? Thanks for any info, deleting airbox tomorrow when my kit arrives!
@theruckshop ☝🏽
This will work on a 2003-5 ruckus?
All ruckus models
@theruckshop is it working whit a 2022 honda ruckus?
All years of the ruckus
@@Theruckshop Wonderful news. Just bought a 22 Ruckus 2 weeks ago. New customer on the way. Thanks TRS!
