I come back to this particular tribute she did, and I like that quick shot of Willie during the performance where it's ecstasy on his face listening to this magic woman do this to and for his song. He got k.d., too bad others couldn't see so well as he.
k.d. is the greatest vocalist on this planet, no doubt about it. the things she can do with her voice is incredible. it's a shame country music didn't accept her but that's how they are... conformist. k.d. tried to open their eyes but they didn't wanna listen. just wanted to stick to their conformist ways and tradition. I love country music also but I see the homophobia, prejudice and conformity in it also and it would be something I would never attempt to enter into for that reason. k.d. had a lot of courage in doing so and I give her credit for that. she is amazing talent with an extraordinary personality. a true artist. and might I add, and what everyone already knows, she is gorgeously handsome

I love her voice, the songs she chooses to sing, and who she is off stage ( as far as I know).... Loving her dogs, being with her aging mother, and having some well deserved rest! This may sound corny 😝, but she is a role model for me. And I am old enough to be he mother 😊!!! Love her!

You cant break into country music while simultaneously shaming the beef industry. With that said....she has the best voice of the 2oth century, of ANY genre.
She's what I call a "stand and deliver" singer. No BS or cutesy pop/hip hop vocal effects, just pure notes delivered with control and power. The musicians don't have to cover for any shortcomings. Those rises in her tone are all intentional for the country music feel, not from her voice reaching past its limits. When you check out her other torch song performances, there is none of that. BTW. What year did this tribute happen?
