    That was my first upgrade. HRG didn’t have it yet, so mine is from the other guys. Saved my bacon a couple times already.

    Glad to see you got a good one (Steel). I got mine a couple of weeks after I bought my Badlands and I never read the fine print on the sticker, which is pretty cool.

    Did you mount it over the OEM plate with the spacers? Of remove it?

      I followed the instructions and removed the plate and used the longer bolts supplied to install the skid plate.

    Is this a Badlands? I have a Big Bend, and want skidplates for it. I understand the lower trims like mine have differences in design...

      Yes this is a badlands. I too heard there were differences in the front bumper shape but HRG could answer that. Pretty sure the one he installed in his video was a outer banks.
      I’d say yes though, the front skid plate is only four screws and spacers that replace the factory screws.

    Did you remove the factory engine plate before installing this?

      @@gvsukids this plate bolts on under the front, there is a light tin plate directly under the engine i replaced with an aluminum sheet (street sign, lol) and a steel skid plate i fabricated under the middle on the drivers side protecting the evap canister and fuel lines.

      @@lowrangeinnovascotia2930 So does this not cover the same area as the engine skid plate?

    • @lowrangeinnovascotia2930
      @lowrangeinnovascotia2930  3 місяці тому +1

      @@gvsukids it covers under the front bumper and extends back to where the tin plate under the oil pan is. Without this skid plate, you can break the plastic bumper and jam a rock through the tin plate under the engine. This protects the front, then the tin cover covers back to the back of the k-member. If you off road a badlands you have protection for the gas tank and a tin plate for the oil pan. Non badlands don’t have the tin plate (its only felt) and dont have gas tank skid plates. If you are going to off road, you need to install a front skid plate to protect the plastic bumper and small bits down there. If you have a non-badlands BS, then do NOT off road until you add some sort of protection. I replaced the tin plate under the engine as well, because i felt it wasn’t going to protect the truck where i was going. Same reason i pulled the felt garbage off the bottom of the truck and added a belly skid plate.

      @@lowrangeinnovascotia2930 So owning a badlands, this really only helps protect the bottom of the plastic and doesn't replace the engine plate?

    • @lowrangeinnovascotia2930
      @lowrangeinnovascotia2930  3 місяці тому +1

      @@gvsukids yes, i just went out and looked at our new badlands, apparently i left the metal plate under the engine and this is bolted on from the four front bolts under the front. There is a steel plate i forgot about and the tin cover i was talking about before is the tin plate/heat shield behind the engine skid plate. So, if you go over a rock and come down on top of it, the factory steel plate under the engine will protect it. However, if you run into a rock(which is 99% more likely to happen) then this skid plate protects the bottom of the bumper and the plastic stuff in front of the factory skid plate under the engine. If you off road, you should get a front skid plate like this so you have protection, not only under the engine or only the gas tank, but front to rear. If you dont clear a rock, you will smash into it with this plate or your plastic bumper, cant say it any more clear than that.
