I have found that sand mode helps get me out of deep snow, it lets me spin the tires till I get out. Just a helpful hint for those of us who didn't get the badlands model because we didn't research first. Slippery works well until it doesn't then I put it in sand and push through then back into slippery. We only get snow here about 2-4 weeks a year and never more then 4-5 minutes so snow driving is't anything like this for me. I went with the outer banks trim with the smaller engine for the fuel economy. I'm getting about 32 mpg average so really good. It has enough poor weather capability for my area in Pennsylvania. What I tell people is if you can get and afford the Badlands that's what I recommend, if you can't, the Big bend, heritage and outer banks will see you though no problem just might have to play with the modes in some conditions.
Thanks for the comment. I was unsure whether to even make it as it was just me driving down to get gas. But in hindsight, you're right, it is a good perspective on how it is in the snow. Since then the wife tore the inner right fender out by hitting a block of ice that was in an intersection. I'll probably make a video about that and the gas tank skid plate that got pulled down.
That looked like fun, I remember the days of just waiting for a good snow storm so we could go drift busting. I would suggest you get yourself a phone holder as they are a lot cheaper then a ticket :-)
I didn't plan on it, I started driving and thought, "this'll make a good video"! Normally I would use the dash cam. But, point taken, a mount and a gimble are the next on the list to purchase. Thanks for the comment!
Absolutely awesome video dude! Glad to see her handling in that situation. I am going to have to do snow this year to Flagstaff. Nothing like that I’m sure. But if she can handle that, Flag should be like a normal drive haha
I have the bronco sport big bend with the 3 cylinder and vredestein quatrac pro tires snow rated all terrain tires and I do great in the snow ice and rain. I commute from Reno Nevada to South Lake Tahoe. And you have to drive slower I rarely slide or have traction issues..
Why? a bit of snow? Naw, rolling the ranger twice, or the stock car, or my drag car going vertical and dragging its back bumper...that would better qualify then merely driving through snow, but thanks, lol!!
Great video! Does your Sport have the 2.0 in the Badlands or the 1.5in the rest of the trims? I have the Big Bend and mine did good this past winter here south of Buffalo, NY. I think mine would have been better, but I could only get General Altimax Arctic snow tires when I prefer Hakkapeliitta or Sumitomo snows. Cheers! PS- I replaced my factory wiper blades with Bosch Icons....no noise after that.
My Ranger does the same thing when the area where the camera is gets iced up. Wait until the 360 sensors on the bumpers get iced up. They system freaks out at every stop sign.
No, we bought it in January so we had the dealer install winter tires. The originals were sold to a guy with a new maverick. I would have to go look but I think they were stock size, just winters. (no studs)
@@jayc3723 Lived in Quebec while in the Forces, get winter tires with studs! 4wd or 4x4 or any other combo won't help 4ft of snow and ice on the road! lol!

I too have talked to BS owners who didn't get the badlands. I've told several to NOT off road at all until they get some skid plates installed!
Thanks for the video. I would much rather see a video like this on how the sport handles snow than a video of how to do donuts in snow in the sport.

If you don't mind people finding your house in a snowstorm you could cut the clip before arriving home.
I thought of that, but meh, I'm not too concerned, don't have anything worth stealing! LOL!!
Love driving in white out conditions! LOL!!
You have big balls

Yes my badlands has the 2L. But actually, you can't get the 1.5 in Canada. Thanks for the tip on the wipers!!

When I find that out, and video it! lol!
Wow, that’s a big storm. Are you using the stock tires?

@@lowrangeinnovascotia2930 thanks! I’m curious whether the stock tires are good enough for Quebec winters😀

@@lowrangeinnovascotia2930 that's true. Safety first lol
