Save those plastic drawer fronts! You can make molds of them and make the center flower to applique to another piece. (And you can reuse the molds).

Well I am of a bit of a floral fan so was saying noooo , but you were right this piece is spot on to want people want , fantastic wood joinery ! Looks so classy awesome , my daughter wants me to do UA-cam but so much work involved in the editing, furniture flipping is teaching me to be more organised, and patient but I still do some crazy mistakes plus get very messy , but like you love it . Fantastic job well done on 5000.

@@VintageAndPainted we just moved from Michigan to Virginia and I went from 3.5 acres with a 4 car detached 2 story barn a 2 car attached garaged and a 16X40 cabin I JUST PURCHASED to a single 1 car garage that barely fits a car sighhh... i have really had to scale back my project inventory.. its been sad having to pass stuff up.

Yes its a very sad time in my life haha.. but i guess the trade off is im in a more high end area and my profit margin on selling is way higher than my previous area. So i guess i cant complain too much!

Hint for spreading glue over an area like that is get an old deck of playing cards and use a card to spread it vs fingers

so I just picked up a 9-drawer dresser for $10 that I thought "oh those carved pieces on the drawers will just be popped off and do a little bit of work on the fronts and be done" well, little did I know these kind of things even existed...plastic molded fronts!!! What the heck? anyway, your 2 drawers have a plywood front. The piece i just got has what seems to be 1/2" PARTICLE BOARD fronts!!! ugh. anywho, any suggestions on how to make those fronts more sturdy and ready for a much nicer front finish?? I appreciate your feedback. :) and great work on your dresser!!!

Life does goes by a lot faster than we expect. My sons are in their fifties... still my babies... my grand children are in thri 30's and their children are high school. It sneaked up on me! Holy Cow... I'm still 25, I'm sure! Anyhow I was yesterday! Good Luck, Girl!

Over 5,000 subscribers - yay! Certainly well-deserved, of course, definitely a wonderful milestone accomplishment. I appreciate the timing and your choice re the plastic drawer fronts. All your effort created an outstanding piece. I have a set of bedroom furniture with similar drawer fronts - on the dresser, chest and 2 nightstands. (There's also a headboard with the molded plastic nonsense. It's the bedroom furniture I purchased in 1974 for my first apartment.) I need to dig through the storage unit and determine if it's all plastic like yours or not. At least now I have options. I had been thinking about donating the furniture, hoping to clear a storage unit. Now I might have a new project. If I have ⅛ the success you had I will be ok. Thank you for including your delightful enthusiasm in your videos.

Oh my goodness I can’t believe it. Every day I wonder where the time went. He’s doing great. He actually hasn’t gone yet. He was just visiting Unis for next year but it won’t be long and next year will be here. 😩
Oh my goodness! There is hope for my old dresser yet! The top is still beautiful due to a piece of glass that the previous owners put on top. The rest is truly ugly. I needed something desperately and it was free. Now, after 17 years of looking at the ugly thing, I’m ready to tackle it. Thanks for giving me the courage to take it on! The DIY Wife did a dresser with those panels and it was absolutely gorgeous. I wouldn’t have believed it if I hadn’t seen it for myself. It’s my favorite piece she has ever done.

Great job bringing this dated dresser into the 21st century. I have outdated stuff with the same plastic type drawer fronts. Would love to have seen how you removed that plastic from your drawers. It's what I need to do to change my fugly set out of the 70's and in to today.
I believe these panel were attached with screws and it came right off when I removed them. I have also seen these attached with glue or nails. I just usually try to go in gently and see what moves when I hit it 😆 I realize the irony in that statement 🤣

I just redid a 3 drawer Basset dresser/chest of drawers. Bought it from Goodwill for $13. Gave it a good cleaning, sanding, new paint and hardware. I have to say it came out better than I thought.
