Haha I cheered and gave a raised fist and shouted "Yes!" in my car when you showed Theocracy as #1! We are limited in available music down here in little New Zealand so I'm glad we share #1. Thanks for the recommendations and may God bless you!
Great video! Some bands you mentioned are a head scratcher. My top few bands are Stryper, Saint, Petra and Rez. Some other top bands are: Bloodgood/Les Carlson, Deliverance, Daniel Band, Jerusalem, Leviticus, Sacred Warrior, Shout/Ken Tamplin, Whitecross and X-Sinner and likely a few more I'm forgetting. I am working on going through the material/albums for Theocracy (last 2) and Narnia which have a lot of good material. I tend to include bands that have at least 5 albums that I mostly enjoy. Bands with a short discography or I lost interest after 2 or 3 albums like Mastedon, Holy Soldier, Doe Happy and Guardian also have great material.
Love your channels!! You had me at Stryper! Love being introduced to new music! Love your Bible channel as well! Happy to see you include Catholic Bibles.
My top 5 in no particular order... Stryper Deliverance Rage of Angels Bride Angellica There are soooo many more I listen to still from growing up in the 70's, 80's, and 90's. Petra started it all for me. That's when I first found out about Christian Rock! Then I found David Meece and Bryan Duncan. I thought that was pretty much going to be it. Then I heard Stryper's 1986 Album, "To Hell With The devil" and I was hooked! Are you kidding me?!?! Barren Cross, Creed - Sign of Victory (The original Creed, not the secular Creed with Scott Stap) Detritus, Halo, X-Sinner, Zion, Lightforce, Bloodgood, Ransom (or Randsom?) Man, there were so many. I regrettably sold over 600 CD's, mostly Christian metal/rock bands that I wish I never had sold, back in 2009. Now I am trying to remember them all. Such good stuff.
I'm checking these out right now. So far, Holy Name is great, and Chaotic Resemblance is an amazing surprise! Thanks so much! I can't wait to check out the rest too.
Let's remember Daniel Band ! (Canada) Their "Run From The Darkness" is an absolute winner every track a gem. I WORE OUT the cassette years back & in 2020 discovered this superb album was remastered & issued on CD. Anyone here heard Daniel Band ? Petra is my overall can't lose band - with either Greg X Volz or John Schlitt singing.
Cool bands . One of my favorite bands if not my very favorite was Messiah Prophet. Charlie Clark had such a powerful voice that in my opinion set the standard for metal vocalists. It's too bad he passed away. It's too bad that there were only two albums with him as the lead singer, Rock the Flock and Master of the Metal. If you haven't heard these I encourage you to give these albums a listen. I also like Trytan, very Rush like band. I also like Bloodgood, Stryper, and Daniel Band. I also like a whole bunch of other bands but too numerous to mention here.
Holy name: in addition to Tommy Green and Joe Holt, the HolyName project features mixing and mastering by Ryan Leitru, additional vocals from The REV Gang choir, Brook Reeves of Impending Doom, Eric Gregson of xDeathstarx, Joe Advent, Danon Saylor of Nothing Left, Ryan Clark of Demon Hunter, and Mike Felker of Convictions, with beats produced by Hunter Babcock of Wolf Skin.
Extol, Fleshkiller, Horde, Mortification, and Antestor are all GOATS of different facets of extreme Christian metal. You get old school progressive, modern prog, unblack, death.
I don’t know if these two albums qualify for metal, but they have stood the test of time. 1. Pillars of Humanity, by The Crucified 2. Sin Disease, by Scaterd Few Amazing front to back. Both of them.
I love your included Chaotic Resemblance, their lyrics are the bomb. And my top 5 are: Stryper, Blooodgood, Disciple, Chaotic Resemblance and Theocracy.
I really wanted to include Disciple but I think I am going to include them in the Rock Top 5. The categories are sometimes unclear, but I think Disciple would be rock.
There is no Christian Metal without Stryper starting it in 1984 !!! One of the greatest Christian Hard Rock/ Metal cds of all time is Step On It by Jet Circus! Those guys made one of the funnest cds to listen to as a Christian 🤣🙏🎤🎸🥁
Theocracy is my most favorite metal band. And my other is Petra( although that's more like rock and not metal) because this was playing a lot at home when I was a kid and I still love John Schlit's voice.
Your video was suggested by UA-cam - go figure. Probably because of my long time recent series on my Christian rock/metal vinyl collection. New subscriber here. My channel covers a lot of Christian music, but also typical mainstream bands too, just an fyi.
Check out Randy Rose's (not to be confused with RR from The Residents) album, 'Sacrificium' from 1991and the follow-up, 'Healing', under the band name, Rose from 1993.
If you enjoy Christian/Biblical Theology & Concept albums... Listen to the trilogy albums by Oh Sleeper. In order "When I am God" 7/10 "Son of the Mourning" 10/10 "Children of Fire" 9/10 Definitely a heavier style with more screaming but the writing and passion is unmatched... the song "The Finisher" from the 2nd album deserves its own praise. Thank you for the video!
Top 3 I listen to and like for sure. 4 and 5 I’ve never heard of. Red is a favorite as well. You should check out Demon Hunter, 9 lashes, Decyfer down, pillar, Narnia, Thousand foot Krutch, Alter Bridge, Manafest is kind of a cross between rap and hard rock/metal. And I’m sure you’ve heard of one of my all time favorites. Skillet.
No.5 Holy Solider (particularly the first album) No.4 Disciple (later stuff) No.3 Chaotic Resemblance No.2 Deliverance (the first two albums) No.1 Theocracy
HolyName’s watchword is preachcore, and their self-described sound of “holy drone violent worship” makes a lot of sense when you hear their songs. The new album is essentially a love letter to Christ and a tribute to the history of eastern orthodoxy.
Chaotic Resemblance is my #1. Oz from Stryper is in Unto the Lamb, and Wes from Bloodgood is in Outloud. Just thought it was cool that they are all on your list.
Holy Name is great, they came from og Sleeping Giant. The short story is that the lead singer had a faith crisis and during this switched from evangelical to eastern orthodox and then formed this band to continue to worship Christ with metal. What you really need to check out is Bloodlines with their EP. Their lyrics is PACKED with worship and praise to God! They are Metalcore so I don't know if that's your style but anyways check them out. God bless! (edit: spelling)
First of all my favourite christian metal band is Tourniquet, i dont know if you are knowing them but their drummer sadly passed away during the last couple of years so i dont know if there is anything coming from them soon..(he was the main writer of the music), then its the youtube channel -deus metallicus- where they have very good christian praise music in the style of heavy simphonic metal... ceep on rocking!!
Oh no! I did not hear this! So sad! They were also one of my favorite bands too. Sad to hear about the original lead singer leaving the band, to the opposite of what he WAS doing with Tourniquet. Like he pulled a Vengeance Rising lead singer there. And now this?! Too young. He was the heart and soul of the group. VERY gifted drummer indeed.
