I'm Canadian!! I don't like Swiss chalet. I'm on the east coast. The most "Canadian" snacks I can think of around here are Ganongs chicken Bones and pal-o-mines. I think a video comparing our beers would be great. I love the American prices of their beer. But let's face it. Canadians know beer🍻
I'm Canadian and I love all the snacks they are trying. I can't understand why they didn't say "wow" for the Caramilk chocolate. If you let it melt in your mouth the savory caramel is delicious and by the way I love Swiss Chalet. It's so darn good.

I’m Canadian and I’m confused by it. Only Quebec speaks French. It’s stupid and annoying to us in western Canada. Also, nobody has ever heard of those tarts and Swiss chalet isn’t very popular

Maybe in the past there were more French speaking Canadians but now I'm pretty sure Punjabi is spoken more than French thx to our extremely lax immigration. I'd rather my kids learn that than French. It'd be more beneficial in their future. Unfortunately.
Almost all of the U.S. does not, but we have them in central New Hampshire where I grew up, but that's because many of the people there are from Canada or their families are, mostly Acadian, including mine. We also have poutine at a few places there too.
I lived all my life in Canada and I'd always just assumed most of those brands were American imports. Funny how after all this time it still surprises me that Canada actually produces its own consumer brands.

Yeah kinder eggs are one of my favorites even if the toys can be a bit crappy it's still fun and delicious also I have a picture of me eating one on my graduation day with my friends.
First off one reason for the banning of kinder eggs, the toy is deemed a chocking hazard, then if I remember correctly there is something with food safety due to cleanliness. Secondly the USA does have some forms of gun control, but also has the second amendment. It is not as easy to buy a firearm in the USA as people outside the USA think. There are also many myths circulating around in the USA and out about firearms laws.

Caramilk bars have a higher dairy % in the chocolate, which we can get away with bc of our cold climate (they don't melt as much up here). The carmel inside also has a very different texture & sweetness. If you ever get a chance, give it a try and see what you think! 🙂 My favourite candy bar from the USA that we don't have up here are Paydays! I can't get enough of those when I'm in the States. And my mum can't get enough of your cinnamon bears 😄
My spouse and I drove all over western Canada. I have to say, I love Canadian snacks--and their restaurants were wonderful! The Canadian people are warm, kind and caring. There's nothing I don't love about Canada.

The best highways in Canada. Three huge national parks. All kinds of different foods. Edmonton in the summer's has all kinds of events going on as well as Calgary. Want to see bison? Go 20 minutes from Edmonton into another national park (not mentioned above). All kinds of history and natural history everywhere. Know what Frank's Slide is? Ever seen one of the best dinosaur museums in the world? Not sure what you mean by "not so much"?
Aero is pronounced up here in Canada as arrow. The key hole on the caramel bar is the marketing secret how they put the Carmel in the bar. 🇨🇦😁 also with the aero bar you let it melt in your mouth to feel the bubbles pop.
Also, you can get All-Dressed in the US, though it may be a "limited time" thing. You can also get Kinder eggs here now; I think the law prohibiting them was rescinded.

@@NatalieandTara Nanaimo Bars are more like a dessert square and you find them in bakeries. It has a chewy chocolate, coconut, graham cracker base layer with a layer of custard flavoured buttercream then a layer of chocolate on top. They are amazing!
We have candy coated pills, mom have them a lot because as a mom your rarely near water when you need pain relief... schools carry them too so kids can swallow them easier

You use rock candy like jawbreakers and meat tenderizer enzymes to break it down to a liquid state. You don't put liquid caramel in solid chocolate. You do the reverse.
Canadian chocolate is way better than that of the U.S.. I say that not as a Canadian, but as a lover of chocolate. However, I'll take M&M's over Smarties any day of the week. $100,000 bar is pretty good as well.
I travel to The United States often , the chocolate in The States tastes like bitter wax ,try a Nestle Kit Kat and U.S. Hershey Kit Kat , it shall prove my point .

@@nanoflower1 The US does not have Lay's ketchup chips. I've seen a couple of other companies make them but they weren't very good. Ruffles did bring all-dressed to America but the recipe was completely different. It had almost no flavor and I was not happy.
I was very disappointed to find that I could not get Dill Pickle chips in Florida, nor could I find any fresh dill anywhere there to put on the salmon that I was cooking!
They do have it in the US, but the Canadian version is so, so much better. I feel bad that Americans don't have ketchup chips though. Still, Canadian Lay's dill pickle chips are the best

When I went to Canada I found them and fell in love with the ketchup chips. They reminded me of when I was a kid and would dip my chips in ketchup. Before I left, I picked up a couple of bags to have at home.

I believe the question mark on the Caramilk represents the age old mystery of how they get the caramel into the chocolate. I could be wrong but I recall hearing this years ago.
Not much of a secret. The question is misdirection. You put rock candy caramel in liquid milk chocolate. The secret is meat tenderizer to break protein strands. Now you know the secret.
I'll numerate my thoughts because I have oh so many. First: Swiss Chalet sauce is nothing compared to St-Hubert's. Second: Ketchup chips are an acquired taste, I've never been a fan, but sometime you're just plagued with the need to eat it. Third: The question mark and the lock on the caramilk is from back in the day, the whole advertising around it was "How did they put caramel inside the chocolate?" and every ad was about how it was top secret and people trying to break into Cadbury's factory to find out. I believe they drifted away from this theme, but kept some cues for the packaging. Fourth: The aero is """"meant"""" to be put on your tongue and you have to wait for it to melt so you can feel the bubbly effect. But usually by the second piece you tire and just eat the whole thing. Annnnd fifth: As the Barenaked Ladies sang "If I had a million dollars we wouldn't have to eat Kraft dinner, but we would eat Kraft dinner, of course we would, we'd just eat more" truer words have not be spoken since.

First off one reason for the banning of kinder eggs, the toy is deemed a chocking hazard, then if I remember correctly there is something with food safety due to cleanliness.
Secondly the USA does have some forms of gun control, but also has the second amendment. It is not as easy to buy a firearm in the USA as people outside the USA think. There are also many myths circulating around in the USA and out about firearms laws.

Caramilk bars have a higher dairy % in the chocolate, which we can get away with bc of our cold climate (they don't melt as much up here). The carmel inside also has a very different texture & sweetness. If you ever get a chance, give it a try and see what you think! 🙂

The best highways in Canada. Three huge national parks. All kinds of different foods. Edmonton in the summer's has all kinds of events going on as well as Calgary. Want to see bison? Go 20 minutes from Edmonton into another national park (not mentioned above). All kinds of history and natural history everywhere. Know what Frank's Slide is? Ever seen one of the best dinosaur museums in the world? Not sure what you mean by "not so much"?

@@nanoflower1 The US does not have Lay's ketchup chips. I've seen a couple of other companies make them but they weren't very good. Ruffles did bring all-dressed to America but the recipe was completely different. It had almost no flavor and I was not happy.

The Swiss Chalet sauce is an acquired taste. Eventually, you'll find that you don't really need the chicken or fries. A big fat straw will do.
You can now buy a can of Swiss Chalet sauce mix from amazon.ca so you don't have to buy it in those single serve pouches. I think it's cheaper.

@@NatalieandTara: That must be American Advil, because Canada uses less sugar on everything. When I lived in LA, I recall buying a bottle of tomato sauce from TJ's and had to toss it because I couldn't stomach the amount of sugar in it! Yeah -- in tomato sauce!!!!

I definitely would have suggested a real buttertart over a pre-packaged one for sure. When you have a buttertart, make sure you get a good quality one. They're so worth it.

I'll numerate my thoughts because I have oh so many.
First: Swiss Chalet sauce is nothing compared to St-Hubert's.
Second: Ketchup chips are an acquired taste, I've never been a fan, but sometime you're just plagued with the need to eat it.
Third: The question mark and the lock on the caramilk is from back in the day, the whole advertising around it was "How did they put caramel inside the chocolate?" and every ad was about how it was top secret and people trying to break into Cadbury's factory to find out. I believe they drifted away from this theme, but kept some cues for the packaging.
Fourth: The aero is """"meant"""" to be put on your tongue and you have to wait for it to melt so you can feel the bubbly effect. But usually by the second piece you tire and just eat the whole thing.
Annnnd fifth: As the Barenaked Ladies sang "If I had a million dollars we wouldn't have to eat Kraft dinner, but we would eat Kraft dinner, of course we would, we'd just eat more" truer words have not be spoken since.
St.Hubert's is great and better than Swiss Chalet, but nothing beats Chalet BBQ.

@@NatalieandTara For Nanaimo bars, they don't travel well,but you can google the recipe and attempt making it or come to Vancouver and try them. They were first made over on Vancouver island a town called Nanaimo. The chocolate and the cream cheese would melt to easy for them to travel

Smarties, the sweetie tarty chalky heart shaped things were sold around Halloween until this year. No longer sold in the US. They always had cute phases on the hearts
