A full-size Coffee Crisp is where it's at. They actually changed the recipe like a decade ago, to intentionally make it taste more like coffee. I mean, it's a chocolate wafer bar.. it was good before, and it's still not bad, but the 'Double Double' version is rather meh. It's still one of my favourite chocolate bars, but I think it lost some points over the years and it's just not as good as it was.

Yeah, Soap gum is defo a weird one. A few other Canadian gums that I remember are Black-Cat gum. another odd flavor but that one I loved. Beamens gum was really good but I think that's a UK product And lastly, Cum-Gum. Danged if I can remember the actual name but the name "cum-gum' came from the fact that it had a liquid center and when you bit into it it squirted in you mouth... Anyone old enough to remember the Fruit-flavored potato chips? Yes that's right, potato chips that tasted like Orange or cherry. All I can say about those is thankfully they were pulled from the shelves in about 3 Months,, YUCK! And to think that some executive, sitting around a big oak table, said, 'ya know Bob, that's a great idea, let's do it'. Bob and the genius are now washing cars somewhere saying, 'I coulda been a contenta...,'

They changed the ingredients in Caramilk around 10 years ago, they are super mid now, they went from a 85-90 to a 45-55 imo, the Caramel now tastes like a sweet chemicals and the chocolate is not as good either.

Oooh, those are good but they're soo sweet. Only once in a while. See, there's a maraschino cherry floating in the middle there with some cherry syrup and creme, surrounded by a chocolate shell that has crushed coconut and roasted peanut bits. Absolutely savoury, but way too sweet to be eating them often. It's like a gooey creme egg with a cherry inside; if you bite the top off first you can suck the cherry goo out.
Ohhh, thought of something that wasn't on this list.. the Big Turk! it's like a jelly loukoum covered in chocolate. Pretty good! You guys would probably also enjoy Bridge Mixture, that is also a hugely Canadian thing.
Canada has M&Ms too. I wouldn't say Smarties are that similar. The UK also has Smarties, however, the shell-to-chocolate ratio is different in each country.
Don't know why people hate them, the green ones are indeed fire and I like the dark port ones. They are very tough to chew, they're more flavourful if you keep them in your mouth without trying to ingest them immediately. Kind of an 'old school' candy.
I freakin Looooove Eat-More! and WINE GUMS!!! I am sad to say I don't think I have ever had a Kinder product other than the toy egg. Sounds like I am missing out.
Another thing to note is that we also have many flavours of Aero and Kit-Kat, because similar to Japan, people seem responsive to buying interesting new flavours like Aero Mint, Tiramisu, Black Forest, and Nanaimo Bar! Japan is the world capital of strange Kit-Kat flavours, it's part of the culture there now to send someone a Kit-Kat before their big tests with written messages in the small space provided on the back SPECIFICALLY for doing that. Ganbare!
My dad would eat wine gums by the pound. We always had a big Costco tray of them. I learned to like em, you gotta soften em up a little before ya chew. Lol. I absolutely understand that reaction though. 96 for reaction. Cheers :)
Kinder coming in twice in top three sounds about right. Their chocolates are unbeatable, wish you guys could try kinder eggs but I'm pretty sure they're illegal in america 💀(also if you guys decide to try snacks you have to try KD!! technically it's not a snack but its so popular here, we eat more mac n cheese than anyone in the world. EAT-MOREs are awesome, I love them as a trail snack because it's toffee and nuts. Definitely an acquired taste, and texture, but those things have the perfect amount of protein and energy! Canada's old school 'healthy' alternative bar that was in with the other chocolate bars, still had sugar in it but at least it wasn't just pure sugar.

Great bar, not really a chocolate or candy bar as the others said. You eat these for energy. Also tasting one of these while having all the other sweet things would throw it's flavor profile way off.
Yeah it's true, I can see some of those have chocolate 'rot' (lighter discoloration, flavour changes) from being too old! Still edible, but the flavour will NOT be 100% accurate and probably affects testing.

@@JbFit Coffee Crisp and Kinder Bueno are my two favourite candy bars, I don't think Coffee Crisp tastes like coffee, but it does have layers of crisps. Not really big on candy bars, prefer imported dark choclate by itself, a 1 inch slice is good for the day.
That Crunchie bar was old hence the white look. And the trick is to bite off a piece and let it all melt in your mouth. As others have pointed out, you need to the full size bars. These small ones don’t have the same taste. This is especially true for Wunderbar where the proportions are all wrong.
The Crunchy bar that you tried - WAS BAD! You could see in the video, the chocolate - HAD ALREADY GONE BAD - so you can't give it a proper ranking based on that.

Ok, feel free to delete this post, it is meant for the creators more than the patrons. I may have given you some that you've already covered but I'm ust winging it as thoughts come to my, what I'll laughingly call, my brain. Maybe some of this may be of value... Cheesies (Can.) Vs. Cheesits (US) Cadbury chocolate (really any chocolate vs US version of chocolate) In the US you have to go to a chocolatier like kilwin's or Peterbrooks chocolate to get decent chocolate, the plus side is you can get heavily cholocated popcorn or Chocolate covered bacon, Down side , very expensive. US chocolate is mostly an extremely low-quality of what the rest of the world knows as Chocolate, following the American business model of sell the lowest possible quality for the highest possible price that Americans will stand for example, several Years ago Hershe's bought the rights to market their own cheaply made product under the Cadbury name. they are NOT the same thing. Yes the package clearly says Cadbury but the Chocolate is the sub-standard American variety. Another interesting thing , around this time, was that Hershe's was actually sued because what they were selling was not actually, by definition, Chocolate and they were required to re-package their candy with the words "chocolaty" candy, But in typical American style, that was eventually all fixed up,, God bless the almighty dollar huh? Lays Ketchup chips (there's no real apples to apples comaprison product in the US They don't taste much like Ketchup byt they are wildly popular and I believe they are uniquely Canadian Ruffles all-dressed potato chips vs Us's (there's a brand sold in North East US called The Whole Shebang that are very similar Hickory Sticks, I believe these are uniquely Canadian, Very yum.. I don't know of a US comparison. Smarties Vs Smarties. Totally different. US sparties are small hard tart candies very similar to What Canadians would call Sweet tarts. Conversely the Canadian version of Smarties is a small disk-like chocolate covered in a hard shell, very similar to what an American would call M&M's Fast food, all fast food between the Two countries taste pretty similar although American versions contain more chemicals and weird stuff. On taste alone though, pretty even both countries have unique products, for example at a Nova Scotia McDonalds, in season, you can get a McLobster sandwhich,,, Yum. Maltesers vs. Malt balls or Malted Milk balls. No real differance to me. Cherry Blossom, Nothing like it in the US, it is a large version of a typical chocolate covered cherry but the chocolate is very thick and is imbued with peanut pieces. They are grand, what can I say? I've seen these covered on a few sites but they are uniquely Canadian. I never encountered anything like them in my travels in the US, which were, incidentally From Michigan t0 Florida to California, and Back to Florida over the course of about 30 Years. Oh yeah, the cookie.. Doh! They're called Maple Leaf cookies. They are a Cream-filled cookie with a Maple flavor,. worth trying. Ok enough here, I'll carry on with my important work developing creative comparisons.. Cheers.

@@JbFit Coffee Crisp and Kinder Bueno are my two favourite candy bars, I don't think Coffee Crisp tastes like coffee, but it does have layers of crisps. Not really big on candy bars, prefer imported dark choclate by itself, a 1 inch slice is good for the day.

That Crunchie bar was old hence the white look. And the trick is to bite off a piece and let it all melt in your mouth.
As others have pointed out, you need to the full size bars. These small ones don’t have the same taste. This is especially true for Wunderbar where the proportions are all wrong.
Shoot maybe we need to run it back with some fresh full size bars 🤔
I noticed the chocolate was white on the Crunchie too so yes, I would hesitate to eat it as it is probably old and stale.

The Crunchy bar that you tried - WAS BAD! You could see in the video, the chocolate - HAD ALREADY GONE BAD - so you can't give it a proper ranking based on that.

Cheesies (Can.) Vs. Cheesits (US)
Cadbury chocolate (really any chocolate vs US version of chocolate) In the US you have to go to a chocolatier like kilwin's or Peterbrooks chocolate to get decent chocolate, the plus side is you can get heavily cholocated popcorn or Chocolate covered bacon, Down side , very expensive. US chocolate is mostly an extremely low-quality of what the rest of the world knows as Chocolate, following the American business model of sell the lowest possible quality for the highest possible price that Americans will stand for example, several Years ago Hershe's bought the rights to market their own cheaply made product under the Cadbury name. they are NOT the same thing. Yes the package clearly says Cadbury but the Chocolate is the sub-standard American variety. Another interesting thing , around this time, was that Hershe's was actually sued because what they were selling was not actually, by definition, Chocolate and they were required to re-package their candy with the words "chocolaty" candy, But in typical American style, that was eventually all fixed up,, God bless the almighty dollar huh?
Lays Ketchup chips (there's no real apples to apples comaprison product in the US They don't taste much like Ketchup byt they are wildly popular and I believe they are uniquely Canadian
Ruffles all-dressed potato chips vs Us's (there's a brand sold in North East US called The Whole Shebang that are very similar
Hickory Sticks, I believe these are uniquely Canadian, Very yum.. I don't know of a US comparison.
Smarties Vs Smarties. Totally different. US sparties are small hard tart candies very similar to What Canadians would call Sweet tarts. Conversely the Canadian version of Smarties is a small disk-like chocolate covered in a hard shell, very similar to what an American would call M&M's
Fast food, all fast food between the Two countries taste pretty similar although American versions contain more chemicals and weird stuff. On taste alone though, pretty even both countries have unique products, for example at a Nova Scotia McDonalds, in season, you can get a McLobster sandwhich,,, Yum.
Maltesers vs. Malt balls or Malted Milk balls. No real differance to me.
Cherry Blossom, Nothing like it in the US, it is a large version of a typical chocolate covered cherry but the chocolate is very thick and is imbued with peanut pieces. They are grand, what can I say?
I've seen these covered on a few sites but they are uniquely Canadian. I never encountered anything like them in my travels in the US, which were, incidentally From Michigan t0 Florida to California, and Back to Florida over the course of about 30 Years. Oh yeah, the cookie.. Doh! They're called Maple Leaf cookies. They are a Cream-filled cookie with a Maple flavor,. worth trying.
