When I saw you had Thrills gum, in my head I was like “ DEAR GOD NOOOOOOOOOOO”. Thrills is not a joke gum, people actually eat it. I do not understand those people.
There are people who drink Moxie on a regular basis - I consider them to be people without stomachs

I think its the surprise they cant buy there buy nor can they have it shipped there by law. Look it up its true. Also I have tried to send some to my girlfriends son (Im in the UK) and got into some trouble from customs.

As a Canadian living abroad the only snack I really miss is Hawkin’s Cheezies!! Can’t wait to see what you think. Edit: omg, they’re totally different than Cheetos. They’re way crunchier!!

I'm one of the weirdos that loves Thrills gum. Even here in Canada, it's not popular; it's just one of those things that a few people love. So, it sticks around. It's a vintage candy that came back several years ago.
You're right, it's been around for decades. I can't help but like it.
You can't say something that has been around for over 60 years is unpopular. Companies aren't in the habit of trying to sell things that people don't want to buy.

Speaking up as a fellow Canadian who lives in Ontario, thrills gum is what I think of as a nightmare from my childhood. Nobody here chews that gum willingly. Also the explanation of a crisper is that it’s half chip and half cracker and it comes in a lot of flavours. they are delicious.

Live in Ontario and I remember getting the thrill gum in my Halloween candy. Never really ate it. The Alldressed crisper are amazing
I am in the UK - fortunate to live fairly close to the Cadbury factory in Bournville - so crunchies have been a staple part of my diet for many years!!!! The local school had a before school club called the crunchie club!!! Xx

As a Canadian, Hawkins Cheezies are NOTHING like Cheetos. Not even close. Not in the same universe. Cheezies rule.

Thrills gum.... so good. Reminds me of my childhood - it’s an acquired taste 🙂 it was very cheap - that’s why little kids all got hooked 😂

Turkish delight comes in lots of flavours in Turkey, but by the most usual flavour is rose. And Thrills gum is apparently rosewater flavoured.
Hawkins are different from cheetos in my opinion. Love both but Hawkins are in their own category for me.

As a Canadian, thrills gum is a childhood gum that every kid including me chewed! I am totally surprised you didn't get an Oh Henry bar, you can't get them in the US. When we go to Arizona for the winter my hubby buys dozens of them to last him for the 5 months we live there! True story! Fun to watch, thanks for sharing!
Oh Henry used to be sold here. It was an "old timey" candy bar. We can still get it at specialty stores.

@@Dree_Lavoie i have a package of Whippit here now and it does have a blob of a fruity substance in the ones I bought. They were called Black Forest Whippits. There were two other flavors available though.

As a Canadian, the soap gum is my favorite. It's a minute of joy then it doesn't taste anything. Oh and you are wrong about Smarties! M&Ms are way better!!!! Also, you need ketchup chips! Caramilk is my favorite chocolate of all time!

I can picture the Research & Development team sitting around a conference table and someone says, “Hey, let’s make a gum that tastes like the lint in the bottom of Nana’s purse.” That person is now the VP of the Gum Division.
On a serious note, my favorite Cadbury bar was the Orange Kit Kat they sold in the UK during the 1990s. Bring it back and bring it to America!

I know sometimes companies have test markets. I’m in New Hampshire and we often get overlooked for new products. We are often referred to as Cow Hampshire due to the number of farms throughout the state, but there are no cows in my immediate area. 🐄🐄🐄

FIrst off, Ketchup chips are totally Canadian. Smarties will melt in your hands, make sure you add raisins when making your Butter Tarts. Glad she threw in thrills...and its not a joke its been around forever, coffee crisp chocolate bar (missing). The thing I missed when I lived in US for 3 years was Swiss Chalet. Crunchie bar is just sponge toffee covered in chocolate ....smash it and put it in ice cream is nice.........btw I am from the Capital

Great video. I'm a fairly new subscriber. Saw this older post since I was born and raised in Canada (Alberta). Have been in US (NY state) for 16 years - also a dual citizen like you. All the snacks are good now I'm craving Cheezies - however I disagree with you and your brother and sister - they are NOT the same as Cheetos - they are 100x better! lol!

Ok. So I am Canadian and still living here. I have seen that gum, but I cannot say that I have ever tried it before and I am glad for that. Hawkins cheezies are way way way better then Cheetos. Although I do enjoy Cheetos as well.

The marshmallows covered in chocolate are very much like the tunnucks tea cakes you had in your Scottish box, personally I love them.
Im surprised you don't get the variety of flavours with the areo bars. Everywhere else seems to. If you want to try to make your own crunchie bar its melted to almost dark caramel coloured sugar and bicarbonate of soda mixed to give the bubbles, leave it to set, slice it and dip in your favourite tempered chocolate
If I had a dollar for every time I heard someone pronounce “sure-bet”, I would have zero dollars.

Crispy Crunch is better than Butterfinger
Skor is better than Heath
Crunchie is better than all of them put together
Oh and Cheetos are not even on the same planet as Hawkins. Either in Canada or the Stares. Hawkins are a joy all to their own.
Hawkins Cheezies taste nothing like cheetos. And the have a much bolder sharp cheddar taste.
I want to see a video explaining how he managed to get that tight of a shirt on without popping a button or anything.

Lol soap gum comes in different flavours and yes you have to stick with it it gets better as you go along

Have you ever tried Violets? It's a square purple chalky mint that tastes very much like old lady perfume. I would think that the taste is very similar to that gum.

There is a special way to eat the Viva Puff cookie...crack the chocolate shell covering the marshmallow, peel each piece off and eat it. Once the marshmallow is completely exposed, eat the marshmallow puff, which will leave you with the cookie base with the little bit of jam. Tada! Perhaps I'm the only Canadian who ate it that way. I agree with the Crunchie bar - FAVOURITE!

I LOVE perfume candies!! Nobody ever knows what I'm talking about.. (theyre also called floral gums) ... ive ordered them straight from the UK when I haven't been able to find them in BC .. supply seems to ebb and flow 🤷🏼♀️

Hey woe. You think Hawkins Cheezies taste the same as Cheetos? No. No. I can tell you when I have a hangover my Canadian instinct automatically takes over and I search out Hawkins Cheezies. I'll walk straight past the Cheetos. They are much much much more salty and buttery. After 2 you don't notice the salt. The almost luminescent orange colour pulls you in. They are like two or three times as orange as Cheetos. I'm pretty sure they glow under black light and register on Giger counter. The shapes are completely different than Cheetos. I love them. Just one small bag and I am completely satisfied. I want some now. You know it's a little known fact that most of the most delicious Canadian foods evolved into what they are due to the shear amount of hangovers Canadians have. (That's actually not a fact but I think there is some truth that. After a Saturday of hockey and beer come Sunday I want the full Canadian Breakfast. Pancakes/Eggs/toast/hashbrowns/tourtiere/baked beans and bacon fried in maple syrup or peameal bacon or ham or all three of the bacons.)

Ranch and all dressed Crispers are my favourite flavours! And those cheezies are seriously the best!! Cheetos doesn’t even compare. Hawkins is more expensive, but well worth it!
