- ok so i know i just finished one but IM ON A ROLL BABY this time its in full color and all about our lovely archivist jonathan sims.
by the time i finished this i straight up felt like jon at the end this was a whole ride, i started it around may 10 and gave myself the rest of the month to complete it but in a very me fashion i ended up, y'know, finishing 10 days or so early.
please please forgive any random inconsistencies in designs and the TERRIBLE editing work BUT! ITS DONE! AND THATS THAT. im really very proud of this one ive been calling it my "magnus opus" (eheheheheh u know like magnum opus)
im thinking about working on my penumbra podcast video (im well aware i just completely forgot about my doctor who one but the concept for that one is really not working well with me, so we'll see, im sure ill release it one day) that ive had the concepts and boards for since 2016 because i think i have the skills to make it now but who knows.
anyways, thank you again for watching and also for bothering to read this description yanno most people ignore it hehe

My favorite thing about this is the way you draw Jon's (very human) horrified terror mixed with the strange (eldritch) pleasure that comes with him being an avatar who has fulfilled his (read: The Eye's) purpose, who enjoys this nightmare despite how much he wishes he didn't. The fear in his expression and the tears, with his smile looks absolutely tragic. Beautiful!

4:35 incredibly small detail, but I love the tears in Martin's eyes when he slaps Jon awake. It shows how had it is for him to hurt his significant orher and makes the end of their story even harder.
What killed me the most was how sad Martin looked when he hit Jon ):

God this is gorgeous. His curiosity, the eye watching the whole time and making things worse each time he thinks it can't be, going through the hellscapes with that mocking refrain telling him how this is all his fault for wanting to know, the hand reaching up that he can't help, him trying to keep it together for Martin... The way s4 John is softer and quieter and wants to help the others, the papers slowly turning visceral as the world he's studying turns real, s5 John so tired he would accept anything as real, the sweetness with Martin, his joining the Institute with hopes of finding some answers, the same refrain going wild as he can't control it, the realization afterwards and his vs Martin's reactions to the horror; all the crazy shit in S2 and S3 shaking him up (his "I'm in over my head" face!) and then the coma when he joins with the Eye and starts becoming something he doesn't recognize, changed again into someone with more resolve, the handshake and the rib solidifying who he wants/has to be.. then his finally going Buckwild Monster Mode and kicking back against Lukas and the world because it's just too much; The amount of personality that every character has in so short a time!.. The guilt, Sasha's death, your Elias design, and just all the subtle changes and touches you did. This feels _complete_ and heartbreaking; a fantastic sort of testament. I love it so much

this animatic is what got me into tma and now that i've listened to MAG 200... I can't help but get emotional while watching it. The fact I'm able to catch all of the references fills me with joy, but I'll miss this podcast.

The fact you animated the entire song is absolutely astonishing because it's a long song and just drawing an illastarion let alone making an and is pretty hard since you have to draw every scene and background

This became one of my favorite songs after listening to it to this video, and now that I've actually started learning the lyrics I'm loving it more and more day by day. Like, its very Jon, but its also got so many layers to it and relative to the canon. It hurts so good.

i do not remember if i already left a comment here but oh my god?? oh my god!?!? this is probably one of, if not my most FAVORITE animatics just... period??? first of all, combining what is definitely two of my most favorite things, this animatic made me love the song TWICE as much and i was always thinking it'd be a nice song for TMA but holy crap!! you pieced it together!! you did it!!! the style, the character designs, the grace and the fluidity-- my gosh it's just, such a treat the whole way through!! :) loved it!
i've been binging TMA (just finished today) and i'm so glad someone's made this because from jon's paranoia arc onwards i've always thought this song is perfect for him, especially going through the tunnels and also rescuing daisy from the buried
