Seeing your enjoyment playing the piano reminds me of what Lawrence Welk [Famous big band leader--1950-1980.] used to tell his performers: "People do not tune in to watch you play an instrument, but to see you having fun playing an instrument." You are having fun.
That is precisely what I wonder. He has a HUGE REPERTOIRE of fairly (or very) complicated songs. Yet he seems to be comfortable playing them all… WITHOUT MUSIC! And forget about the missing “D” key… he doesn’t need it!
How do you remember all these pieces Leander. You’re amazing!!! You don’t even have to look at the keys when you start. You automatically know where to put your hands. Brilliant. You will be a star one day that’s for sure. ❤
Great fun. Sets the foot a tapping and brings on smiles as grand as your own. Super playing. Thanks for making the day so bright and cheerful. Love, God bless, Pat
Who knew 'Possum and Taters" would taste so good ! 🤣🤣🤣 So reminiscent of a piece called "The Charleston ". I bet there's a bunch of young ladies waiting to dance with you, Sweetheart ! ❤
I've listened to lots of your pieces, and they're all great, but I think THIS is my favourite. And judging by your smiles maybe it's your favourite too? Well done, Leander ... brilliant job. 👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧
Hi Leander, you have found a winning recipe we all love. The introductions, the smiles and enthusiasm, a wonky piano with a missing key, no sheet music and an unbelievable speed at which you learn new material and play it well with apparent ease. We are all stunned and full of admiration at these joyful performances you continue to give us all almost daily. Whoever is doing the video deserves a mention too. A steady hand held camcorder with gentle movements all adds to the performance. A new piano may come eventually but at the moment you seem to manage perfectly well with what you've got and we are all loving it. Keep it up. We look forward to watching you develop.
Oh what fun...excellent music...played with enthusiasm...smiles on your face...bringing everyone joy and amazement, wondering how you are able to play from memory with no music sheets. You can hear anything and then play it. We are all in awe of you. Thank you so much for sharing your talent with us. We love you!!! Listening and watching your videos make my day and brightens it.
I'm amazed every time I watch you Leander. I have lots of questions. How old are you, when did you start playing, who taught you, what country are you from (Germany?), and when are you going to get that broken key fixed? 🎹 👍
Hi, little buddy! This is a delightful song for today. I needed an emotional boost, and your performance certainly provided that. I had a medical emergency on Friday that caused partial, but permanent vision loss in one of my eyes, and I'm feeling kind of down because of that. Seeing and hearing your performance of this song was a joy. Given its name, it goes along with where I live. I'm in the southeast US, and it wouldn't be uncommon to hear some of the rural folks use the words "possum" and "taters." Who knows, I might even be related to the composer since we have the same last name. Not that it matters, but mentioning my region reminded me to ask, are you in Germany or one of the other countries near it? I'm not great at identifying dialects, but I'm guessing that yours has at least some degree of German influence. If you prefer not to answer that question, I understand completely, and I hope I didn't overstep any boundaries by asking. As always, thank you for posting this video!
I am really sorry to hear about your eye problem and I hope that soon you feel better. I am glad my song helped you feel better. I am in the United States of America but ever since I was a baby I spoke German and English. So I think that is why I don't sound the same as other people.
I printed this one yesterday and two others. I was playing through them and thinking of you as they coincidentally happened to be the other two you recorded. Rather funny coincidence. Wonderful playing once again
Hello Leander, thanks for this performance! You truly are a great musician! I listen to every one of your performances and encourage other people here in California to subscribe to your UA-cam channel! 🙂 🙂
That was wonderful and one of your best performances. And as I always say I love when you look at the camera and your mother? And smile with pride particularly at the fun parts.
Guessing what you might enjoy, "Hoedown' from Aaron Copland as performed by Emerson Lake and Palmer" seems right up your alley. ...The things you think about when shoveling dirt 😄 Thank you for sharing these with us. They are fun on this side of the screen as well. Best wishes from North Carolina, US.
Great ragtime! You post so much for your viewers to enjoy! I hope it’s not a the expense of other activities such as your dance, play and school work. ❤❤❤❤
Leander.... I always have to comment because I never cease to be amazed by your talent. You just keep getting better and better. God bless you...
I love the spirit of ragtime you present in this piece! Thanks!

Well done, Leander!

I think this one and your Cafe Society Rag are my two favorites! You are a very quick learner.
How is it possible for someone so young to have such a large repertoire?

Your deep emotional connection with what you play is evident, and I love that you are able to express it as you do, with happy grins. 😃

How in the world do you remember all this music?! It seems like it's often more than one piece a day!!
Lad, you’re a natural. Thanks for entertaining so many people.

Now that was one of your best efforts. Plus, I especially like how you look at the camera and smile. This was such a fun piece.
Yep! You took the words right out of my head. You amaze us every time, Leander. BRAVO!

What a precious, joyous, talented and enthusiastic young musician.

A high quality upright such as a Yamaha U1 - U3 might fit in their home a bit better ...
