You can buy them at Blackstone. When I went to buy mine they were out of stock, so I made my own, it took about 10 minutes. I followed Blackstones design.
The question needs to be answered " Were the shields effective in reflecting the heat in protect items on the shelf, mainly the plastics bottles or plates, as they would be the most affected by the excessive heat?"
Yes, the heat Shields have worked wonders. I no longer have issues with cooking and keeping things on the shelves. I can do an updated video the next time I cook on it.
@@TheREALWeekendDIYer thanks like the idea and would like a follow up if you could show the temperature near the shield it would allow us to see appreciate what the shiels has accomplished.
@@TheREALWeekendDIYer technically it is upside down (I made the same mistake), but who cares. It's your shelf. I chose to flip my shelf to make it correct, but if you're fine with it that way then that's up to you. I noticed I had done it wrong when I started looking at all the Blackstone pictures on their website and saw that the bottom shelf is supposed to have the lips all around the top side and not flat like yours is. 🤦♀ A shelf is a shelf though. 🤷♀ Thanks for the heat deflector idea though!
Yes I would have also thought the heat shield would reflect the heat back into the griddle, anyway nice video, I will do something similar. By the way has the heat shield remained on the flashing? meaning the bond has not peeled?
Nice job!!! Thanks for sharing.
That’s nice

Update video has been posted for everyone asking if the Shields work. Thanks for watching.

@@rickbooher8224 I'll do one this week.
In the original design of these griddles, why do they leave them open?
Nice shirt #advertisment
Isn’t your bottom shelf on upside down?
Nope

@JenniferMeinel bottom shelf has nothing to do with the poor design from Blackstone and the need for the heat Shields
Shouldn’t the heat shield of been faced to the source and not out? I guess it’s 6 in one half dozen in the other but ya know seems odd.
No, the material would be on the outer most part of the shield.
