I’ve been on my path to healing; it’s been a year since my breakup and the person that I was then compared to the person that I am now? Let’s just say that, i am truly proud of the person that I am now. I made all the post breakup mistakes, I lingered in contact with my ex way too long and I suffered for it. My ex showed me her true colors post break up; she was selfish and somewhat narcissistic post breakup. I wasn’t perfect either, I said some things that weren’t okay but I was emotional and I was pretty much a wreck. I cut off all contact with her around September because I felt disrespected and I felt like I was being manipulated and taken for granted. I got tired of it and I decided to grow a backbone and let her go. I bowed out like a gentlemen and we went our separate ways; she pretty much got the hint by my sudden closed off behavior. Last year I suffered a lot of L’s. The breakup then I lost my father, my brother, my Dog, I hit rock bottom and I wanted to commit suicide at one point; recently I lost my aunt but throughout all of this, I kept moving forward and I never gave up ever since. I’ve been super focused on myself and I turned all that pain into strength and motivation. I received my personal trainer certificate again amongst many other fitness certifications, I won Employee of the month twice for my job and i also won employee of the year for my entire company; I got my drivers license; I picked up my lifestyles/hobbies of bodybuilding and MMA and Cooking, I reconnected with a lot of old friends and lost loves; I’ve been on a journey of self enlightenment and self improvement. I am on my way to having my own apartment and a car soon I also received many raises and I recently received a promotion at my job. So as you can see; I suffered a lot of loss but I also gained so much more and because of my powerful support system, I realized my purpose in life and for that I am eternally grateful. I’ve learned so much about myself and relationships and life in general and I have you to thank; thank you Vincent for everything that you do. I shared this because no matter how bad it may seem; no matter what your ex does or say towards you, never forget that you’re worth it and you’re a prize. The dumper will play the victim until reality hits them and trust me when I say this Karma is a bitch; what goes around comes around but at this point I just wish her the best. I’ve been doing my best every single day and for that I am grateful 😊 Life will teach you so many lessons, not matter how many times you may fall? You will always get back up. Interestingly, my ex looked into my social media on V-day and I didn't provide any updates or anything. I noticed she checked my Stories, which were actually from the day before. When I noticed this, I checked her profile and found her posts for that day were kinda sad.
After 10 years of a one sided relationship I was the dumper last month. With Valentines Day approaching the memory that sticks with me the most was an apologetic Valentine basically apologizing for her faults (this was an actual printed card, mind you), ending with Happy Valentines Day. Little did she know, I discovered this exact same card years ago that she gave to her ex husband that was still hanging around the mess in her house. Obviiusly he wasn't to inspired to take it with him. Makes it much easier not missing her for the upcoming day. Good video.

Ok, So I got dumped 5 days ago after a 2 year relationship. I went straight into "No contact Mode" and now on Valentine's day I have received a card from my ex under my door. It says "Thinking of you" on the front and a hand written "Happy Valentine's day" inside and signed, no kisses or "love from" used. I have never heard of a Valentine's day card being sent from a place of sympathy but this certainly looks that way. I have not responded or acknowledged the card in any way. My ex broke up with me 3 months ago. She told me she can't say we will never be together again but she is not putting a time limit on it. She told me no contact which I am giving her. When she left, she told me to keep all the furniture. She still owes about $1600 on it and I know bills are very hard on her because of student loans. I have the extra money now I don't help her with her bills as well as mine, should I pay off her furniture loan since I have the furniture or should I spend the money on myself? Also, I don't want to pay it for her to get back with me or even talk to me. I just want her to have less stress about bills and also I have the furniture.

I was speaking with a mutual friend of me and my ex and my friend said that my ex had blocked her on everything and when my friend asked her why, my ex said basically that “You remind me too much of Elliot and bad memories because I know you were really close with him”. This tells me she is morally immature if she still has hatred for me because I never did anything wrong, she just lost attraction for me. It also tells me that the relationship she is in could not possibly be healthy and strong if she is still worried about things reminding her of me. I’m curious to hear your thoughts. Probably not, but it's not worth your energy considering, because you have your own life to live. You have exciting things to experience and memories to make with new people. Hello Kanika, if your ex is keeping your possessions and refusing to give them back, then you might need to consider your legal options after a while. This should be a last resort though.
If she is in a new relationship (rebound or not) then she will likely think of them the most on the day. However, she will definitely think back to last year as well.
