    Well done boyos. That's my kind of roof. I have watched hundreds' of flat roofs done on You Tube. This is the first roof that has been done properly in my opinion. 4mm sanded? amazing, that is some roof!!

    Not bad. Was first layer nailed or just torched round the edges. And hopefully not footprints all over the green. I would have done the green from the front to avoid marking it!

    Very nice job! Just a suggestion, the word "to" is used like this - "I'm flying to Paris next year". If you are describing a number, the word is "two". Suggest you change the title, and it's ok to delete my comment, as it would serve no purpose after that. Cheers!

    i currently have a single story flat roof extension on the back of the house, is it possible to extend the flat roof without relaying the entire flat roof on the existing extension (as it is still in good condition) - and then obviously extend the walls to suit etc.? would be interesting to get your thoughts

    Hi, i have a question, i live in florida, i have a one car garage with a flat roof like the one on this video, no soffit, so no air coming in or out of the roof when close wit drywall . my plan is to install a mini split in the garage, Summer is to hot here, i know i have to insulate my garage door, now, how should i insulate this roof and what to use, my rafters are 16" x 2" and like 15 or 16" a part, left and right walls are block and stucco, anynof the two walls are exterior, left wall has my kitchen on the other side, and right wall meets my neighbors garage, the rafters goes right thru the blocks, so no wood against any of the walls. I want to do this my self, and im scared of moisture on the roof and floors.. I hope this info its enough for you to help me out, if you can, thanks in advance...

      Hello Jorge,
      In the UK in this case we would strip the original roof covering, install a vapour control layer on the deck, 150mm insulation and then the new roof covering on top of that. It’s called a warm roof construction, pretty simple and very effective.

    • @baloo217
      @baloo217 Рік тому

      The roof covering, you mean the drywall? The part facing inside? Or the part facing outside? And what kind of insulation? R19?

    • @qrsroofing
      @qrsroofing  Рік тому

      The roof covering is the roof system itself, so in this case a three layer torch on system. The insulation we use is Celotex rigid board insulation 150mm.

    • @baloo217
      @baloo217 Рік тому

      Ok, but my roof was done last year, so, i cant re do it, how can i insulate the roof on the inside, so i can install drywall?

    • @qrsroofing
      @qrsroofing  Рік тому +1

      Ok then you will have a cold roof construction, rigid board celotex between the rafters making sure there is minimum 50mm space between insulation and top deck. Then you can drywall.

      Never really got the idea behind that perforated layer. How can it help airflow when the roof gets sealed off everywhere? Unless it’s close boarded but even so I wouldn’t exactly call that ventilation either. I just use a 3b as the loose layer.
