Bryden’s point about doing the public bits vs the private bits is very good. It’s when you can take Michael Caine out of The Italian Job and put him behind the counter at Tesco’s that you’ve mastered the character. Anyone can blow the bloody doors off.

There's no point in agreeing to be in a documentary if you then insist on 'not acting up for the cameras''. What did you find insecure about Coogan? Always interested (if not slightly depressed) in how some people see negative things where others don't - we can agree 'insecurity' is not 'positive'.

Whenever Rob displays even a hint of pride about something he’s done, or one of his accents, Coogan always drags him down and criticises him. @@opulenceluxury8548 Have you actually watched it? It's way better than all the other panel shows on TV, and they have had lots of pretty high profile guests (Olivia Colman, Harry Shearer, Steve Davis, David Haye, Stephen Merchant etc..). You seem to have a highly inflated idea of Steve Coogan's success, comparing him to Tom Cruise is risible.

7:27 I felt excruciating pain for Rob when Steve schooled him properly on the Albert Steptoe voice. Not only did he get the exact pitch and soft Irish lilt, he even got that slight suggestion of Wilfred Brambell's slightly-refined enunciation. When Albert Steptoe said the word "don't" he did NOT drop the T at the end.
