Coogan did it better in this live show but I think Brydons was better in the tv show they did together on ‘The Trip’ albeit Coogan gave the funniest line now made famous “she was only 16 years old.”

What I love about this is the moment when the idea for this was just a nano second thought, to develop the idea, and realise it into it happening to the pleasure of all who have watched it...
Peter Serafinowicz does a spot on Michael Caine as well. Coogan, Brydon, and Serafinowicz have deep enough voices to pull it off, and people tend to overlook that Michael Caine has a fairly deep, resonant voice. That's the same thing about Christopher Walken impressions. People rarely pull it off, because they don't get that his voice has a deep gruffness, even though he tends to speak softly and at the top of his voice. They just do the extreme pitch changes, and become that douchey guy at the party that people think is a great impressionist. Kevin Pollak does a great Walken, because he gets the subtleties of his voice, and not just the extreme pitch changes.
You can tell from Danny Baker's reaction that nobody other than Brydon and Coogan knew Michael Caine was sat in that box with them the whole time. Awesome.
Danny was in on it. Ironically he was only in that seat because he got bumped up at the very last minute. Talked about it in his stage show. He did what was asked of him. Act like Micheal Caine wasn't there and be surprised when he appears.

When Michael caine, told them you were good comedians, but we're out of shape...that's a reference to the scene in get Carter, where he told alf Robert's "your a big man, but your out of shape"...cue. Steve coogans, next line.."didn't you kill alf Robert's"...very subtle humour....would go over the heads of a lot of people, if you hadn't seen "get Carter"
Taking the Michael out of Michael. As I watched this I explained that he killed Alf Robert from Coronation street thinking it was a suitably confusing comment for the people I was with who would not get the joke and then Steve Coogan goes and says the same thing!! Synchronicity at its finest. It is also why I don't get into arguments in multi story car parks.

Let us get one thing 100% straight. Maurice Micklewhite aka Sir Michael Caine is a SOUTH Londoner from The Walworth Road. Used to attend the local Boys Club= Clubland. Just half-a-mile from The Elephabt and Castle. He is NOT ( as I have seen twice recently ) from the ruddy East End ! lol....I am from the same High Street and 15 years younger..

I f'ought d'at The Island was a pretty good movie. Caine and his son end up in the grip of a group of deranged latter day pirates, headed by classically trained thespian David Warner and including Tink from Lovejoy, when Caine's New York journalist (he doesn't even attempt an accent) is assigned to investigate the mysterious disappearance of ships in the Bermuda triangle.
It is a great , but relatively little known film . It was quite violent in parts and also had Don Henderson in it . Two other little known Michael Caine films that I like are Swarm and Sweet Liberty .
michael caine's michael caine is the third best michael caine in this
Yeah, after Steve and Rob's mother
SuperAye 独立 It’s Sir Michael Caine.
@@michaelcaine5591 Michael's English is actually a lot more efficient than that, with very little repetition. Saying things twice isn't what he does.

Michael is fighting so hard not to die from laughing. He genuinely loves every impression thats been done of him
Of the three, Steve Coogan clearly does the best Michael Caine.

He's brilliant as both an actor and a human being.

Brilliant! Never seen this before, Rob and Steve must have been honoured to steal the limelight
There's never a moment when Rob doesn't give a smile & love people clapping for him
Excellent impression of Michael Caine by ... Michael Caine. Not many people know that.
If I ever meet him, I'll tell him I didn't know that.
Imagine being so famous that two wonderfully talented performers (famous in their own right) are doing impressions of you
Oh yes, let’s do……….
