The funny thing is I could make a better game in 2 days even though I only have a few months of experience in game development. I'm amazed how they could sell such an unfinished game which looks like it's been worked on for a week. It seems as if they didn't have any idea how to make games! Unbelievable...
Executive: We need a new game! Developer: I shall apply my ideas to it. How soon do you need it? Executive: At five o' clock, when you leave work today.
This review stand the test of time as when you look back at when this review was made, there were...REAL video game reviews back then. Not the jokey style we have with some critics now. This was raw, unique, unexpected you would ever see the real person playing the game. Its amazing.
To developers: Was it worth it? Was selling an unfinished shit game worth it? Hopefully they didn't put this on their resume. 8 years later and 8 years from now, this will always be remembered as a terrible game. Making a "nothing special" game is waaay better than selling unfinished game. Mediocrity can be forgotten, but negligence sticks with people.
Well, Sergey Titov, the "lead" "designer" later worked on _"Gears of War"_ in some low-ranking position, and later went on to make _"The War Z"_ which was _slightly_ more playable than this, but made up for it by being a pay-to-win scam and was ultimately abandoned due Hollywood threatening to sue them over blatantly plagiarizing the title of _"World War Z"_ So yeah, they're pretty much going nowhere in life.
Leopold Slikk Obviously you don't know innovation when you see it, name one other game that gives you the freedom to obliterate the laws of physics with a truck like Big Rigs: Over The Road Racing™
Seeing this in 2020, it's crazy to think that in 2006 they had no concept of a low-budget Steam asset flip. We were so innocent back then. We had no idea this type of game would become standard. Woe is us.
It also reminds you that while it often feels like it's much easier to go backwards than it is to go forwards, that if you try you can pass through every obstacle in your path.
This game is so good you'll want to sudoku yourself afterwards because nothing else in life will ever compare. It's so good it was rated number 1. Great review.
i haven't laughed that hard in a long time, if the game's purpose was to be entertaining it sure as hell accomplished it (though maybe not how it was intended) also fuck physics

That's a plus for some people (like me). It makes you try so much harder to protect your character and actually plan your next move when you stand to lose everything. Also, if you find a tent you can set it up where you want and store your items there, so long as no one finds it and steals your stuff.
Only big man drive and understand big rig, and if not like, you're loser. In homeland big man no drive big rig - big rig drive you. If move in reverse, big rig tear hole in spacetime fabric and transport big rig driver man back to big Stalin party time. Only then is big man winner. But if drive forward, life too slow, and you're loser.

I remember watching this all those years ago, probably back in 2006/2007 or maybe 2008 at the latest and haven't seen it again since, until now in 2013 :D I was just watching a video about 'Big Rigs Over the Road Racing' and this video came to mind again, so after searching for this game, I managed to find it right away to my surprise! xD
@uzimakishadow I don't think GameSpot's review system even allows/allowed them to give a score under a 1.0. That is the lowest a game can get. There are no 0s or 0.5s.

I would spend hours just reading reviews of games good, bad, and mediocre just because they were all so well-written.

This is the same company that said Battle For Bikini Button is a trash game.
Just amazing how times changed.

Makes me want to play superman 64.
17 years later: Still Rigs.
Big Rigs has a 8 on Metacritic.
Metacritic never lies.
metacritic made 1.0 reviews into a 10 for some reason. So according to Metacritic, Alex Navarro gave this game a 10/10
Why does it have such a high score? Who in their right mind gave this game a positive review?
Psythik Metacritic scores are x/100 btw, not x/10
Asagi Asagiri 8/100.. I agree with psy.
I love this kind of review for gaming. Just facial expressions. No words but you can simply tell if it's good or bad.
