Hey Cameron, former D2 tennis player here (Tomas Martinez). I finished playing collegiate tennis 4 years ago and I haven't competed since. I miss it. This was a tough loss but just try to remember that these matches are why we play tennis. Don't forget that feeling. That feeling at 8-8 in the breaker, I felt it just watching you and I miss it. Enjoy the tough moments too. Life doesn't give you too many of those. All love and keep going brutha.

Hi Cam, you played bloody well and if you hadn't of missed that forehand at 4-3 deuce in the 2nd(not meaning to rub the miss in), you'd of won in straights. Also Noah has a massive game and whilst erratic at times, is super dangerous so you played the match perfectly.
Probably the best I've seen you play so you're on the right track.
I would seriously consider dropping down a level to play some grade 3 events to get some wins/confidence then play some more British Tours.
Keep going mate as you're playing well and knocking on the door👍👊👊

I enjoy your content. This was actually one of the most emotionally powerful pieces of tennis content I’ve seen on UA-cam.
The online coach (forgot his name) is really good for you.
Your final comments around the positive mindset are the right ones. You are beating yourself up way too much during the match.
Your game is solid. Pump yourself up on court more, stop slapping yourself down. Life’s way too short to be your own hater. There are other people who will do that to you, don’t do it to yourself.
Enjoy the game. One day you’ll be my age and watching someone on UA-cam doing something you’d love to do yourself!!!

That's so tough. But honestly there's so many improvements in your game having watched your progression over the year. Your depth in the rallies was superior and movement was so impressive. Really forced him to go for too much and gave him nothing to attack. With the improvements your making the wins will come... was just a bit of concentration/tightness on the big points

one thing to take away from this is to always remember to try find their weakness. This guy loved hitting when the ball sets up well for him. I would have sliced him like crazy, and moved him. Force him to hit running low shots, that he would have to lift and then come in where possible. I felt like you decided to trade with him at the back, and that just wasn't the way to play this guy. You are far more consistent then him, you should have de-risked your shots (slice), and made it physical for him. He relied on his serve a lot, if you gas him every point, that serve quality will drop.
Just some food for thought, you were the better player here and even though you played well, you just had to play smarter, always think what shot would they hate to hit, vs what shot you like to hit.

The decision to go for the slice at 8:8 man.... at that point of the match he was playing with a hunter mindset, while you were playing with more of a survivor's mindset. I think you can take a little bit more risk with doing more power shots for the future, you have it in you. I saw it at 29:05 the score being 3:8 from your point of view. Absolute rocket!🚀💪 Keep fighting!

@@joburton1629 If you read the comment I posted correctly, you would've seen 'most of the time'. The match isn't high level, so ask yourself why is he struggling to get more than 3 balls in. By your UA-cam name, you have a bias towards the guy playing which is understandable.

Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better.
And, playing safe and steady to get unforced errors is good no shame in that. After all, the player who can put the ball in one more time wins the match but you still gotta make the guy run. As you said you gave him to many balls in the middle, his balance and timing was not good when he was moving or when you mixed things up.
Anyway you did some great points, well built and with a good finish. Work with that, keep the good things and work hard to be able to reproduce those points threw-out a hole match!
    Work on your strengths!

You mentioned you use visualization , just wondering have you worked with a psychologist or learnt this technique yourself ?. On visualization could I suggest that you watch the match back and then visualize each game of that match. let your mind stop at the good points first and replay them in your mind. This will help your brain to take that info on the good points and store it for future play. Only after you have done the positive plays you can move onto the negative ones ( most people start with the negative, that the wrong thing to do). Here the trick is to learn how to change the picture in your head by replaying for example a shot but this time getting the result you want. I would be interested to know when you visualize what view point you mainly do it from, what I mean from above, behind, eye level. learning to view your match from all different view aspects in your mind allows you a greater degree of control over the outcome.

Good. Video. You got lots of things to improve. Your footwork is not for this level. You unitturn too late almost every shot. You need to learn the fluid effortless energy. ( breath hit recovery ) Al going in a circle. Your spacing in every shot is always you hit near rhe throughout of your rac ket. Give space ro the ball so you can use the hips. You will be way better if you will work on this basic things. Footworks and paterns to a tennis match.. With Midern game and new generation style. All will matter is be a great runner. This guy was verry easy to beat. Due you could cause many unforced errors to him. But your stroker and footwork are not for professionals. Start from zero. And you will be twice strong in 4 months.
