I am from Tamilnadu and watched this wonderful marathi movie today in USA theatre! I literally got too emotional and loved this movie and am so overwhelmed by the story of Ananadhi bai and Gopal ! Best movie I have ever seen! Best performances and best music and The Best direction! So inspirational movie !

नीरजताई अगदी बरोबर ,गोपाळरावांनी स्वत:च्या पत्नीला डाँ.केले खरे पण त्यांचा स्वभाव खरोखर तिरसट, हट्टी होता.आनंदीबाईंना परदेशात असतांना शारीरिक कष्टाबरोबर मानसिक त्रासही खुप भोगावा लागला ह्या स्वभावापायी! मूळ कथेशी इमान राखलंय लेखक, दिग्दर्शकानी त्यांचे अभिनंदन!नाहीतर कथेचे रुपांतर चित्रपटात करतांना व्यावसायिकतेच्या नावाखाली हवे तसे बदल करुन घेतले जातात।

शाळेत असताना डॉ. आनंदीबाईंवर मराठीच्या पाठयपुस्तकामधे एक पाठ होता..त्या पाठाचे मी किती तरी वेळा वाचन केले होते... मला ते वाचन केल्यावर प्रोत्साहीत झाल्या सारख वाटायचं. आणि तेव्हा असं वाटायचं की वाचन करण्यापेक्षा हे सर्व प्रतेक्षात बघीतल असतं तर.. आणि मग मी ते सर्व मनात कल्पना करुन बघायचो.. आता ते सर्व चित्रपटाच्या माद्यमातुन हुबेहुब बघायला मिळणार हे बघुन खुप आनंद झाला. चित्रपट तर नक्की बघणार.. मराठी भाषेतील चित्रपटाची गोष्टचं निराळी आहे..

I don't know how to speak in marathi but I can understand marathi...I remember watching Anandi Gopal serial on DD TV back in the 90s. This trailer refreshed my memories and I must say - it's Awesome! The story itself is inspiring but they nailed it with the background music.👍

Kadambini Ganguli was the first doctor of India who did her doctorate from India from bethun college of Calcutta while Anandi Bai Joshi went to America to get her medical education both are iconic and also they both were able to so because of there incredibly supportive husbands both are inspirations for many
Anandibai was the first female doctor but she died at an early age before she could practice 😞

I just saw the movie, couldn't resist myself to comment and tell u all who are reading this, it is such a surreal movie. It was not only beautiful to my eyes but also to my ears. This language sounds so different from the other marathi movies. I was been listening to the whole album since 1week and could not figure out what's the meaning of these songs except "Anthem" (i mean only few parts, can't lie) . But after watching the movie now i know the backstory of each and every song.

I'm very happy to see the trailer.,...I'm a teacher by profession I've taught my students on Anandi Bai ..... The husband is so supportive and despite all odds he fought for his wife's rights.....Anandi might have failed to become doctor but she is the inspiration to many for stepping out of the house and go abroad with the help of her husband to fulfill their dreams .... 🙂🙂🙂
The story of Dr. Anandibai Gopalrao Joshi (India’s 1st female doctor) is both Saddening, Revolutionary & Intriguing!
Can’t believe she died (of Tuberculosis) at the ripe age of 22 after practicing Medicine for just 2-3 months in India! She will always be remembered for her effort, which was nothing short of a Revolution back in 1880s.
It seems more than Anandi it was her (strict but progressive) Husband, Gopalrao Joshi, who pressurised her to go to America to study Medicine, so that she can treat women patients in India. And this way back in 1880s is indeed shocking! Women back then were not even allowed to Study (forget about having a career)!
Before going to America, Anandi did not have a good health at all! She was afflicted with all kinds of health problems. But it seems Gopalrao Joshi was obsessed with her going to America. This is very, very odd! Yes, his intention was good but why pressurise her when her health was not good?
And to add to her health woes, she contracted Tuberculosis in America! OMG! But did she get proper treatment for this infections disease in America? NO! At that time there was NO cure for Tuberculosis!
Finally, she did rise to fame with her sheer Passion & Determination. Hope want-to-be lady doctors read about Dr. Anandibai Gopalrao Joshi and are inspired by her.
This is the true woman empowerment. Lots of love from Karnataka. Waiting to watch this in theatres.

Anandi Gopal Joshi.
A name inscribed in my soul, ever since I saw the scenes from the serial Anandi on Doordarshan. I was too young to understand the language or the situation and yet I fell in love with her and her story. I thank you for taking the initiative to tell the story of Anandi.

Kadambini Ganguly along with Anandibai Joshi was one of the first two female physicians from India as well as from the entire British Empire. Kadambini, herself, was also the first Indian as well as South Asian female physician, trained in western medicine, to graduate in South Asia.

I literally got goosebumps after watching the trailer it is so good. Why there is no movie or series or short story on her in hindi and other regional language? People should know that apart from several lady freedom fighters And Rani there was a lady who completed her education in that era when a lady was only meant to be a mere toy for a man and in that era only a man became back of her wife and made her the crown of India without thinking of what society will think?

Gopalrav ch khara chitran thoda depressing aahe.. asa navra noko baba. He was 30 and had a kid from his first wife, still married a 10 years old..Anandibai. she got pregnant at 11 or 12. She had to face extreme violence. Her husband was stubborn and used to hit her frequently. When she was in England, he never gave her permission to wear winter clothes of england. Eventually it affected her health and she died at very young age of 22.

This woman became a MD after just 2 years in med school all the while battling tuberculosis and prejudice. And to think I never heard of her until recently - I always thought Kadambini Ganguly was the first Indian female doctor. What an absolutely incredible story brought to life on film!

Some misguided folks here arguing over whether Dr. Anandiben or Dr. Kadambini was India’s first female doctor. Dr. Kadambini may have been India’s first qualified doctor. But Dr. Anandiben was the first Indian lady to travel overseas unaccompanied to finish her medical education in the US, something which most Indians are afraid to let their daughters to this day, in 2022. So, yeah, Dr. Anandiben was a path breaker.
This movie is one of the best masterpiece in Indian Film Industry. Though I know (but not much) but I can't speak Marathi, the trailer is so much heart touching that I really want to watch the movie. I have heard a lot of Dr. Anandibai Gopalrao Joshi, and I am so glad that I can watch her journey through this movie. Please upload the movie with English subtitles.

I saw this film... And without any doubt it is one of the most under rated motivational movie of India.... We saw many movies like bhag milkha bhag, mari kom and we appreciated them then why this movie remain under rated... Motivation in sports is nowadays normal bt what a commitment of this lady ..... Nowadays 9 out of 10 girls dream to be doctor bt it is started from Anandi bai joshi... This story of highly committed couple is really unmatchable... And fr me this movie is the one of the best motivational movies frm India... And I am really proud to say that India's first female doctor ANANDIBAI GOPALRAO JOSHI is from my Maharashtra 🙏🙏

I've read Dr. Anandi Gopal Joshi. Not only the authenticity of the content is to be appreciated but the cinematic brilliance makes it a legend.
