More than a few times I got pinched by the crusher claw, not because I wasn’t fast enough during the cutting, but because the two halves of the newly bisected lobster will fight you independently from each other for about 30 seconds after being chopped in half. Sometimes one of the halves gets a sneak attack in while you are cleaning out the guts or chopping another lobster close by. P.s. if your going to steam that lobster carapace, make sure to remove the stomach right behind its mouth, otherwise it will taste gross.

Much respect to this chef for dispatching his food in the least inhumane way possible. You can tell he has respect for life and because of the fact that he tries his best not to make waste from his food as well. Great role model chef that I think others can truly learn from and be humbled by.

I’m in Maine and my uncle who is a lobster fisherman lost the tip of his pinky to one because it got crushed so badly the doctors had to amputate to the first knuckle. But judging by the fact that instinctively most lions kill by suffocating first rather than inflicting unnecessary pain while the animal is alive tells me it's possible. What's ironic is a more intelligent being showing less sympathy than some animals I've observed in the wild. But then again, can we really even call such humans human at all? I would say not, they are inherently evil for intentionally inflicting pain when absolutely unnecessary. A truly intelligent being is able to feel remorse and sympathy.

For those of you who disliked the video, it is necessary for lobster to be killed immediately before preparation because nearly all lobster contain bacteria which start to multiply rapidly once the lobster dies, and this is why they are kept alive in stores and up to the moment they are cooked.
A lot of people are more concerned with whether the lobster is actually dead, since they have ganglia rather than one central brain like humans. Chefs aren't actually 100% sure if lobsters are dead and we don't know if lobsters feel pain either. I just follow the belief that there should be a surefire way to kill the lobster then cook it but to each their own I suppose.

For those of you who disliked the video, it is necessary for lobster to be killed immediately before preparation because nearly all lobster contain bacteria which start to multiply rapidly once the lobster dies, and this is why they are kept alive in stores and up to the moment they are cooked.
A lot of people are more concerned with whether the lobster is actually dead, since they have ganglia rather than one central brain like humans. Chefs aren't actually 100% sure if lobsters are dead and we don't know if lobsters feel pain either. I just follow the belief that there should be a surefire way to kill the lobster then cook it but to each their own I suppose.
