This ain’t the fire music I was expecting from you but then I relistened to it and I realized hey this shit is pretty good and more and more relistens and suddenly it’s my favorite album of all time. His albums are so jam packed with deep poetic messages that it’s pretty much impossible to digest them on the first listen and I noticed that with SICK! as well. If you want to get into his discog I would recommend starting with his earlier stuff and working your way up and it’ll ease you into his more experimental style as they just get more and more experimental as they go. If you say listen to one of his albums twice and really take it in and you aren’t captivated by it though Earl just prolly ain’t for you and that’s alright. Everyone has their tastes.

all those feet of clay and SRS flows are panning out wonderfully. This sounds like coming out of a depression. You aren't beaming with joy just... awake... responsive... you're soul isn't being sucked down to the floor. you're left with you're previous emotions and a strong clarity. gonna have to listen to this several times.
i hate how people keep saying Some Rap Songs was depressing, or in Shawn's case, "dreadful." SRS is clearly an anthem of hope. The only really depressing songs are Peanut and Playing Possum.

There’s just sprinkle of greatness about Earl. Beat switches, production and lyrics wise. There’s always something you catch even after 2nd , third listen or even when you come back and listen after a few years. He may not be mainstream now but his music will stand the test of time for sure. I see older me listening to him for nostalgia and younger generations listening for solace and directions.
Earl such an honest and authentic artist. Everything is so him and real - l love all his recent projects. So creative and unique, he not tryna prove nothing besides him making music he wants to make while telling crazy stories with amazing lyricism

Also CMIYGL had that very Westside Gunn, Freddie Gibbs feel with some songs, and Earl has rapped over those kinda beats a ton of times. If not a T production with Earl, then a feature from one of them on the other's track.
