Thank you! Storing that one away in the memory bank for sure! The problem in todays society is people don't think out of the box enough. Well done. This is exactly why I love your channel. (and you aren't going to know if it will work till you try it)
I'm a fan of finding (creative) solutions with the tools and skills you have. And you're absolutely right; it ain't stupid when it works! So I applaud your solution! And thanks for sharing it!
Well I will admit that I laughed out loud for about 30 seconds. Then I thought "I need to save this idea just in case" 😂😅😅 Glad it worked and no one got hurt. Really enjoy all your videos.
Necessity is the mother of invention but my goodness that was some serious lateral thinking to solve your problem! Whatever, it worked and satisfied your need using what you had available, well done.
I have used my drill press in the same manner on several occasions, except I hand held my disc grinder with a sanding disc on it to do the grinding. In each instance I only needed to take off about 1/16 of an inch. After grinding I polished the work piece up with several different grit sand paper in the same manner as you did. Like you said, "It is only stupid if it doesn't work" Keep up the good work.
That's a great idea ear I have been looking for a way to make some pins and I think I've just found it I will be stealing this idea if you don't mind, as my old dad use to say, we aren't making clocks kid.👍👍👍
Good video. Like how you think out of the box. Keep the videos coming. Happy New Year to you and family. Hopefully it’ll be better for all of us than the last one
i am all for making my own special tools and i can usually make them in a shorter time than it takes to drive to the store and back, that set up shows that you have a creative mind and i wish i had a dollar for every stupid idea i had that worked for me ezra, great idea i may use that idea myself at some point.
Awesome, that's how you rig something. I don't believe in safety myself. Getting hurt, blowing shit up and or starting something on fire is all in good fun.
DIY surface grind accurate to +/- good enough! Seem legit to me, you even had real safety glasses on - I normally use good old fashion safety squints so you're already one up there!
That's just awesome..I did something similar with an angle grinder on a drive axle on a semi with the bearing welded to the axle ile try find the video I did and send u u would get a smile from that 😀 keep em coming nice job 👍
hi alardon have you become a flat earther yet? If not I suggest watch a 13 part series called _What on earth happened_ by Ewaranon to learn that the earth is not a globe. I got it in my about tab.
Ezra, I’m a machinist by trade and brother your solution is epic! Offer on the table, I have my own machine shop at my house and I’d be more than happy to machine anything you want, shoot me a message and I’ll provide my email and contact information. Great video man!
As it’s said...Necessity is the mother of all invention/You use what ya got so ya don’t have to run out in the middle of a project to get something you may not find/There’s more than one way to skin a bushing...or something like that. Having the right tool(s) makes any project easier! 🤩 That’s just my Hillbilly way of thinking sometimes.
Macgyver would be proud 😆
Well that was next lever creativity. Never seen a make-shift vertical lathe machine before LOL 👍👍👍
There ain't nothing stupid about being smart enough to get the job done!
BRILLIANT IDEA!!
Good stuff Ez!
Cheers from Sydney Australia MATE 🇦🇺👍🦘🐨👍🇦🇺
That is a great idea. Love finding ways to do it without running around all day for nothing. Money saved. Time to buy something for old red.
This seems like something you would see in an OSHA training video
as a what not to do example?
I learn alot from you JC smith and twin stick

Great point!
My long lost brother! I thought I was the only one that "fabricobbled" anymore!
“It’s only stupid if it doesn’t work”......sounds like my brother......he says the problem is with his eyes.....he just can’t see going to work!
The old “anal glaucoma”! Otherwise known as “I can’t see my ass going to work!
Ezra is a driver by choice and a mechanic and a engineer out of necessity.
Your videos keep me sane
Looks good Ez, it works, nobody got dead, not too much caught on fire. That's a success.
I have used the drill press lathe technique many many times, a little electrical tape on the bolt centers the sleeve really good.
Necessity is truly the mother of invention. I learned something.
Brilliant work and philosophy! I love it!

The thumbs downs are from the breaker box door and electrical outlet 😅
Don't worry when enough metal builds up in the plug, it will short out and blow out all the metal. 😆🙈
@@greg9403 😅😅😅
Great hack Ezra. the only thing worst than stupid if it doesn't work is not trying.

Loved this little piece of ingenious engineering well done Ezra 👍Alan Northern Ireland

That is one cool piece of ingenuity I think that's a great idea

Necessity is the mother of invention!!!! Great work Ezra.
That's creative thinking, right there.
priceless! i am sure we have done far worse than this! we just dont show it in video!
some day ill get a lathe and a mill. seems like this kinda stuff comes up more often than you would think.
Good job, Ez! Thinking outside the box and getting the job done!
Necessity is the mother of invention.... Ima keep this lil trick in mind next time

I see sparks so it works, good improvising👍👍👍
IT,S amazing what you can do if you set your mind to it that was kool
Never seen that done before Ezra , great job .
Good video. Like how you think out of the box. Keep the videos coming.
Happy New Year to you and family. Hopefully it’ll be better for all of us than the last one
Happy new year!
Ezra Great Video. You're one smart cookie. That idea was awesome. Would have cost a lot at a machine shop. Keep the videos coming.

That is a really good idea! Next time I'm in the garage I'll be trying this out. Just subscribed.
Thanks so much for the insight!!!
Well done mate, very good idea. i'll keep this one in mind.
Well done and slick to boot.

Nice work saving time.
I think @Abom79 would like this one. .
Love your work ethic and inspiration and ingenuity!!!
You may want to blow the grindings out of your breaker panel though 👍
You beauty Ezra I didn’t realise I had a vertilathe in my shed 👍
great work again buddy...
That's a great idea! 😀 Looks like it worked good. 👍
it worked well enough for what I needed.
at least you had a drill press, I did it with a hand drill and the angle grinder under my foot pressed to the floor.
I was waiting, great video thx for sharing
U MY FRIEND ARE A GENIUS ...
That's cool!
Hahaha!! That is awesome. Way to go Ezra!
Nice work man 👍
I used my drill press to make a plastic bushing to mount a 12 volt power supply last summer
Awesome 💡 idea.
Glad you like it!
You have the best videos EZ RIDER 👍🏻👍🏻
If it works it works. I might have put something over the top of the wheel for added comfort. But it got the job done without injury.
👍🛠️
Well I'll be dipped...!
Awesome, that's how you rig something. I don't believe in safety myself. Getting hurt, blowing shit up and or starting something on fire is all in good fun.
Well , I was taught something today..
Perfect
Like a SeaBee, adapt and overcome . Can do .
If you use the bolt holes in the grinder (for handles) to make a jig, your grinder won't jump out of place when you turn it on or use it.
Not bad gotta do what you gotta do 👍🏼
Your the Man !
The way you have the bushing set up would in a machine shop be called a " OD Grinder "
Legend!
well done
Works for me!
So cool 😎
I was more concerned about the sparks hitting your open breaker panel than your contraption. 🤣🤣
DIY surface grind accurate to +/- good enough! Seem legit to me, you even had real safety glasses on - I normally use good old fashion safety squints so you're already one up there!
Having 2 Pints ,,,,Enjoyed!! Cheers!!;-)!
Nice work Ezrider359, how about wrapping a couple of layers of electrical tape around the 9/16 bolt to center the work?
That's just awesome..I did something similar with an angle grinder on a drive axle on a semi with the bearing welded to the axle ile try find the video I did and send u u would get a smile from that 😀 keep em coming nice job 👍
Genius 😎
It worked!
This is the way
