Honestly I would adore Madonna to embrace her deeper vocal range a lot more again....she hints at it on songs... but here just feels so organic and lots of fun... my favourite LAV performance of hers alongside her Confessions Tour version.

Marlene and Madonna are my queens. I wouldn't have known about Marlene if if wasn't for Madonna's art (that's because of my age). Madonna LOVED/S Marlene.. I wished for both of their sakes they could've met.

1- she was 35 here, nowhere near the normal “grandmother” age (she’s still not a grandmother today)

Marlene couldn’t stand Madonna. That’s the irony. I personally love both women but Marlene reserved not a shred of sympathy for this woman. She said about Madonna “I played vulgar. Madonna IS vulgar”. She sent her daughter a photo of Madonna with “Puh-Leeze!!” Written across Madonna’s forehead. That’s from the daughter herself. When the French president had Madonna as a guest for an HIV fundraiser, it threw Marlene into a rage.
