Thank you Bikes and Brass! I’ve been in the off-road and camping scene for 20+ years, but I’m just now learning how to produce watch-worthy content for UA-cam. I’m looking forward to putting out more videos like this one with increasing regularity in the coming months!
Man I’ve had 5 of these things sitting in their boxes from trailworthy for about 3 years now waiting to mount them dreading the project. I know it’s going to be a major PITA. Did you balance them at all? I was thinking about adding some beads when I put them together. If you didn’t balance how do they ride on the road without any weights?
Hey Sammy, it is a workout to put a whole set together at one time, but it’s doable. I put about 6 oz of airsoft bbs in each one of mine and didn’t seem to have any balance issues. I also had nearly new tires, so that might have helped.
Crow bar! Seriously. I put it in at a 90 degree angle to the tire, then use my foot to insert it so that it’s in the middle of the tire. After that, use a long crow bar to flip it into position inside the tire.
I lube all the edges with Murphys oil soap, the insert and the bead. lean the tire against the wall. After you slide the insert in at a 90 degree, a couple of good swift stomps and it falls right in. Takes only a few seconds with minimal effort, and it also aids halves going in. spray bottle of water if it dries out
Tarheel overland.......... im assuming you are in or around Fayetteville? I'm in Fay and am new to overlanding I just bought a great starter truck, k30 5/4 ton m1010 and am looking in to humvee rims and tires, would love to talk sometime
I’m a few hours away from Fayetteville. Humvee rims and tires are a great and relatively inexpensive way to get a 37” MT tire and beadlocks. Get the Baja tires rather than the old style OZ tires if you can find them. They would look great on that k30 platform.
One thing I would add is that those tires are direction, so need to pay attention to that during assembly. Great video!
How do you only have 9 subs? Great informative video- subbed!

@@TarheelOverland Sounds good, do you have a Humvee or do you just run those wheels on some other vehicle?
I ran them on my Ford Ranger - the truck in my Daniel Boone Backcountry Byway video.

How the hell did you get that insert in so easy!?!?
