In part 2 of 2 of this video series, Jordan Rudess (keyboardist extraordinaire of Dream Theater and more) demonstrates Syntronik, the legendary synth powerhouse. Jordan uses the built-in sounds, layering, portamento/legato and more to really bring even more life to the vintage synthesizer sounds in Syntronik. I can't imagine the hours spent developing just one instrument, and this is a collection!! 😱
FML I will sit and watch Jordan Rudess demo anything for any length of time.
Nice playing Mr. Rudess! One of today's great artists playing iconic synthesizers 🌟
Jordan Rudess is awesome! Great sounds too.
This is the best demo I've seen. I love the brief history of each synth including examples of musicians that used them, the personal anecdotes about your previous encounters with several of the synths, and a quick demo of an iconic sound from each synth. This is informative, entertaining, and inspirational!
As always, Jordan...
Amazing musicianship!
Blown away by the sounds of this, which brings me back to ye olde days.
I’m getting this suite.
Thank you👍
Such a great sounding and inspirational video. JR plays godlike. The sensei of synth!
Woooo. That Oberheim SAM sounds just like I remember it!
Yamaha CS-01 MKII-I love mine, and I love seeing them in the wild!
Great work, Mate!
I've been digging into the Syntronik instruments available in the IK group buy and this information is invaluable.
Great stuff!
I just lurrrve mine! :D Many thnks for this great demo and the 1st was terrific, too. -Laura
Great demo man
this was great! thanks for all the now-recalled memories :) I have the free version....gonna have to seriously consider the full rig...
Love the String Box.
This is awesome
I love it when Jordan does an awesome demo. By the way, Is that a little kitty on the background at 4:26 ? (:
It was a wild bird telling him he rocks.
Just trying the free version right now... very nice, indeed.
Yeah, stack some different synths in the software for more goodness.
How do you know what chords and what scale to use for each sound???
I love string machines but again a weirdly odd collection missing some of the best. Arp Omni 2 is fantastic having the lovely bass reinforcement and mono synth options. and the honher/logan? pfft, I wouldn't swap 10 of them for my Godwin String Concert. And no Crumar Performer?
6:56 this synth reminded me TEKKEN 2 OST from LAW stage but arcade version
As the owner of probably 10 hardware synths from different manufacturers over the years I am impressed with the sound of Syntronik. My only beef is the interface.
I need to hear this played by an average keyboard player as Jordan Rudess is that good he can make the worst sounding synth sound amazing!
You can try the free version which gives you sounds from each of the 17 instruments: www.ikmultimedia.com/syntronik
you can hear me im pretty lame ...
😂
cool
This is a competitor to the UVI series
Love ya Jorda, but why is every synth demoed have the release on the ADSR set nearly to zero every time you played? (not counting the digital synths where you played ethereal pads)
10:49 The Dance of Eternity...
portamento seems to work well for a sample-based instrument
it also surprised me !!!
Yo! : "The Noir" at about 8:44 I'm hearing Tommy Mars from that Pound for a Brown (Volcano Solo?) he always did ua-cam.com/video/srXUziN7xNM/v-deo.html with Frank Zappa. That is cool. Another great video here, thanks. I had your old instructional DVD (where you go right into sh(r)edding the blues scale?) ; great video/ great approach. Need to get another copy (lost in Hurricane Katrina relocation madness). Also: my old prawg drummer and me used to play those LTE CDs: LTE is the real Prog Sh!t!
@ 9:06 Okay, let's talk about that "organ" sound. I've never heard an organ on JP8 or JP6 sound like this. Where's the over-dirve and leslie sim coming from?
@ 9:49. Again, my Juno60 can't produce any sound like this.
Syntronik includes 38 effects including overdrive/distortion and rotary speaker effects. More information at www.ikmultimedia.com/syntronik
Just FYI the Moog 'The Rouge' was monophonic not polyphonic chaps!
Fyi - it's 'Rogue'
Would be killer for my iPad Pro.... for now I’ll keep my Korg Gadget collection... but hope to see something similar from ikm
your wish has been granted
I love my Ipad Pro 12!
He's not rude at all. He's actually very sweet.
7:22 fuck that sounded good
Muito bom.mas o meu sonho é um dia tocar ao menos dez por cento do que você toca
where i am buying his tallent?
Try NZT-48 ))))
All they need now is a near-perfect emu of the Roland JP8080 and I'll be set for life 🤨
Bladerunner!
I play this at 0.5 and 0.25, not just to cop Jordan's licks, but to hear what he's like when he's stoned out of his gourd
damn more piano lessons
JEEEZUS SLOWW THE FUCK DOWWWNNNN!!!
One question....who the fk disliked this??? He's the best, im sorry did you find he sucked as you can play better????
13:38 when they marry ARP Solina String and Minimoog! 🔊♩♫♬♪🎵🎶
