The level of wrestling in the ncaa’s is just getting better and better I love to see it
It’s totally PSU style to have a 12 seed come in and push a guy like Yianni almost to the end. Those guys are always game. They come in to NCAA’s in peak shape and on a mission. Good match
Couldn’t have said it any better. What an effort, what a match!
@@HoRRiiBLe1313 where did you hear he was injured this season? He didnt miss any matches this year as far as i know.. sounds more like he leveled up at NCAAs.. not something uncommon for Psu guys..
For PSU, being the 13 seed is not enough. Let's make that guy a freshman as well. Now that's fair.
Couldn’t hang in the end when Yanni put it in high gear. Couldn’t even belly down and stay off his back.
@@jameslichtenberger9789 cuz Yanni is better. Not much more to say other than that.
Yianni acted like a baby at the end shoving Van Ness like that. Yianni almost blew it 😭
@10:09 Yanni - "Fu** I almost blew that!" Coach - "yeah ya did"...😂
Lol I caught that too.
I didn't catch that! I had to go back and watch.
Those 2 take down attempts in the first per by Vaness were relentless Yianni somehow escapes the first one and time runs out in the second but gives Vaness enough scrap to eat up the clock. WOW!!! Then he comes back w that takedown in the 3rd at the end shot attempt mis direction they come back up taps head reshot somehow stays in the crotch readjust lifts Vaness gets the takedown then turns him to his back reverses half and terks for 4 swipes. Holy SCHNIKES!!!
That’s Great! 😂
@@jarrodkruger4886 Me too. 😂
Van Ness really found his offense this tournament
Yes but he has always found his offense
10:07 😂 😂 F*** I almost blew that
Yeah ya did!!
How the hell did Yianni get out of that first attack by Vaness!???? On anybody else that would’ve been a take down. Simply AMAZING!!!
His defense when someone already deep on his legs is absurd
yanni always so close to losing all these matches, even in years past....but never does. never seen someone consistently pull tight victories
fr his freshman yr vs heil eirman and meredith then the next year vs eirman again and mckenna last year seemed like the only year he rly cruised to a title
@@danielh02 he barely beat mckenna lol
@@rhino447attack is that not what i indicated in my comment💀
@@danielh02 I couldn’t understand the autistic punctuation lol
Great match. Nobody improves wrestlers like Penn State
During mid season i predicted top 3 finishes from the frosh @149 thru 65. Al few folks said no way. Like why no way? It's PSU & it's what they do. Facundo is the only one who didn't place top 3.
Thanks for posting this!
Y’all hear it at the end 10:09? Yianni walking off says “Fuck I almost blew that.” Coach Grey replied, “Yea ya did!” Blahaha 😝 Shane wrestled beautifully and will be another PSU 2xer. Book it! 🙏🏼
Like all of them
Yiannni is taken down, escapes, scores a take down, gets a 4 count-all this happened in 41 seconds.
The way ness saw that left leg in the beginning of the match got me like: 😳
That push by Yianni at the end, disappointed in himself but shows poor sportsmanship. you know your better then that John Michael.
Let's go Yianni!
Van Ness is a stud. Hanging in with Yianni & being an agressor will boost confidence to get him on top of the podium.
Yiannis wingspan is insane for his height
Lmao at the end yianni goes “i almost blew that”
Great match but costly mistake. Why did he let the ankle go after he was awarded the 2pts for the takedown and had 1:30 left in the 3rd.. I always go for the underdog
Man all wrestlers have huge balls I've noticed.
Yanni-“Fuck I almost blew that.”
Mike Grey-“Yeah ya did.”
🤣🤣🤣
Yanni escapes two insane takedown attempts by Vaness then gets the escape in the 3rd after being taken down gets a takedown and 4 swipes. Holy crap that was insane!
I figured this was happening. I guess the best to lose to in a tournament where you've been upsetting and coming back against guys would be the one and only possible 4x champ in Yianni. I still liked Van Ness' chances there until the very end and he just had nothing left there.
Now he's just gotta get refocused for tomorrow morning. That's it. Go and get out after it with some possible bonus point wins and solidify a 3rd/5th place match. For his first, and Beau Bartlett's second, tournament it's a really great showing for both and neither have anything to be feeling sorry about. Beau got placed in a terrible spot and still made the semis, same with Van Ness. They both will do better next season, be placed higher seeds, and will both be NCAA champs when it's all said and done. I feel Bartlett slowed down there at the end of his match, but he still got deep on a few shots he just couldn't finish. He'll be gunning for a title next year and a top 5 finish this season.
Now Van Ness just needs to put on more muscle and more strength training this off-season, maybe grab Zain Retherford and get him to wrestle Shayne to get him stronger and better.
Bro yianni literally almost lost
@@kidsdostuff6655 Nah. He was definitely in control there. Shayne had a couple solid looks, but nothing was really connecting because Yianni's defense is nearly unstoppable.
@@zaynes5094 he took him down. That td was solid. Yianni exerted every oz. of energy to pull off that win.
Lee and Retherford are his Daddies!
If Yianni wanted to I think he could go into a different place and make these matches more lopsided. He likes to play around a bit at first
Keeps costing him against Rahman Amouzadkhalili
Nahhhhh
@@WilliamsWrestlinFr, can't play wit dem long and strong Iranians
Great match
Yanni was saving himself for the last minute! Good match though, the penn st wrestler showed some moxie!!
Good try young grasshopper. Yianni is a different level
Holy scramble Batman!
I get second hand frustrated watching Yanni wrestle
Yianni ain't losing. He's Olympic competition.
Van ness going to win a natty before he's done at PSU yanni experience got him the win van ness was smart 50 seconds to go stay back with the lead
Why’d he push him at the end like that?
Yeah fr very unsportsmanlike
Probably frustrated asf. Van Ness’s always had some of the best pace and hand fighting. Wrestling someone like that gets to your head 😂
shayne should’ve won this match is was so annoying watching yianni stall almost an entire match and is shayne got those stall calls he would’ve won so yianni shoving him at the end like that is ridiculous and he’s getting karma now in the fact that he lost to nick lee and didn’t even make a world team! no class and lucky the officials favor him😠
Anyone catch how they spelled yanni not yianni lol
Yanni like 30 wrestling teenagers..... 😂
He's 23
There isn't much difference between. 23 and a 19 year old. He'll these days freshman are coming in and knocking off 7 year seniors. It's actually a disadvantage to be wrestling folkstyle at 27.
Bro they butchered the names. "Yianna", "Shaynie", and "Yanni" in the title😂
i wanna clean the mats at break, and bring a fake gold tooth with me. Act like i found a puddle of blood plant the tooth look around all crazy. Pick it up, and bite it. Smile, and put it in my pocket and clean up with weird smile on my face.
Cyler Sanderson trying to get some words in with yianni at the end. Pathetic
would love to know what he said. We need a johnboy media breakdown. Some extracurricular from yianni at the end though. Kind of nice to see PSU coaches defend their guys like that. Shows they’re human.
looks like he did it for his wrestler. yanni did give him an extra push at the end,
Cael Sanderson builds character into all his wrestlers. They have one another’s backs!
Nope good coach
It gave him a breathe
